Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Orlebar Brown

London Collections Men continues into its final day. With the winter coming upon us, we're looking for vibrant color and we found it with Orlebar Brown which launched six uears ago via Adam Brown, a photographer! He conceived this line which creates tailored swimwear for men! What a great alternative to what's out there in the marketplace and this season which looks at FW2013 is not only retro (this very Art Deco and everything I love about Miami as the collection is broken out into 3 areas: Miami Nights, Poolside Decadence and Beach Frivolity) but fun with it's yellows, red and a hint of mint! With a mix of printed shorts, blazers, oversized bags and more - we're ready ot jump on a cruise to really embrace this look. Who doesn't love bringing in that Miami sense no matter where you're off to or just popping it in to the overall look?

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Fisker Karma Chic

For $100,000, fashion and sustainability come together when it comes to crusiing around in the eco Fisker Karma. Such celebs as Alicia Keys have been sporting these around town and when I think of hanging out in one of my fave hotspots (I've already been thinking of my mid season break when the temperatures become truly challenging), this car and bikinis go hand in hand in South Beach, Miami. Whether you're rocking out and staying at the Delano or are cruising Ocean Drive, there is only way to make this look amazing!

Your fabulous look comes together within Vix swimwear with an Ella bandeau top and faux leather trimmed bikini briefs. Cover it up with Roberto Cavalli's animal print kaftan. This look is further accessorized with Jimmy Choo (my essential go to when it's for a night out or a day for your feet to truly be on display) Pekabo Cork platform which are black and gold! Finally, this fab haircalf handbag by Saint Laurent is the ultimate in chic!

Mingling Mondays ~ Meet Carmindy (Celebrity MUA & TLC's What Not to Wear)

Every time she accomplishes something, you can see that she has added another gold Ippolita bangle to her wrist! I love accessory obsessions that keep you moving forward!
Her guilty pleasure - Tasti D-Lite!
Carmndy loves Grilled Cheese Sandwiches at The Red Light in Miami
Her restaurants are as global as the locations that she visits! Carmindy loves the grilled fresh octopus, Greek salad and local wine that is found at Dimitris on Ammoudi Bay in Oia Santorini Greece!
Carmindy, Make Up Artist, star on TLC's What Not To Wear

One of the most down to earth people that I have met who works in the industry is Carmindy! If you watch TLC's What Not to Wear, you know that for the past 9 years, she has been bringing out the inner beauty that has already existed within her clients. Beyond that she has been a make up artist on a variety of shoots and continues to share her love of natural beauty. As you know, a few weeks ago, Carmindy was apart of a Ponds Beauty event at the Columbus Hotel. I always enjoy being able to sit and chat with her; therefore, I thought she would be perfect to include on our Mingling Mondays of Influencers!

I love that Carmindy loves food as much as I do! Why just have one favorite spot when you can go all over the globe. Above you can check out her fave place in Santorini (have always wanted to go there) as well as in Miami (I can never go enough) but when she's here in NYC, she loves L'Artusi and anything on the menu is fair game when it comes to a fab meal here! While we maintain some of her locations that we're bound to catch her, when she finally comes up for a little air, you'll find her and her boyfriend vacationing in Croatia this summer - so cute! She's also love to spend time in New Zealand, Nepal and Sri Lanka. When you're traveling all over, her personal love of dressing in modern greek goddess/siren dresses means that you're light on packing and always ready for whatever the day will take you! I also love love love this trend as well.

When you're this busy and hopping to be on set, various locations as well as appearances, it's a no brainer that her iPhone is a must to keep her connected when she's jetsetting; however, she wishes that it had better international plans. Her fave app is The Lose it App which ensures that she stays on track with her diet.

With all of her travels and interests, I wanted to know what the biggest take away is for Carmindy due to her work on What Not to Wear. She said that, "helping women feel beautiful starts with getting to see themselves with fresh eyes not just slapping makeup on them. It's so much deeper than that." I think that that is such a positive boost and one that we should all think about when we're out and about each day. I also love that her love of beauty is being incorporated into another goal (which very well could result in an Ippolita gold bangle) where she hopes to start her own line of nutracosmetics like Borba with her Carmindy twist! That's a line that I would love to see!

If you enjoyed reading about Carmindy, check out Holly, Global Communications Manager of Flirt! Cosmetics (Estee Lauder)!

Snazzy Sundays: Spring Break 2011 ~ Shoshanna

This Sunday's Snazzy Sundays continues our Spring Break 2011 theme! Sometimes you get inspiration for how something looks by something in a magazine or on a runway. But then again you may get an idea from your bikini! I'm loving Shoshanna as they're bringing in the fun Ikat print that everyone is rocking one way or another with their looks for yet another spring/summer season! There is something about white, turquoise, green and yellow coming together that makes everything bright as well as perfect for gatherings. We also love that it's still in keeping with the colors that we think about in terms of Easter as well! Follow the Ikat love by adding various hues that are found in the suit! I'm loving Haute House's Monroe Sofa which is so Miami chic and begs for color to be placed on it's cushions. For that, we get inspired by our fave Trink Turk pillows. Finally add some whimsy and bring in the sun with Perch Zooey Mini Chandelier Pendant Lamp. All are fab choices for a day/night in of keeping the season year around!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Our Spring Break

When we hit this in between weather, I always think about how much I miss the typical high school and collegiate Spring Breaks! They were filled with trips to South Beach, Orlando, San Destin and much more. You packed feeling silly to lair up in hoodies but knowing that when you deplaned, you'd be in amazing weather. Now, my work allows me to travel a lot and Spring Break can happen anytime but everytime March Madness starts, I begin to think about back in the day. This is why I knew that we had to bring Spring Break in this year - April 18th - April 29th we will launch our own break. Each day we will talk about our favorite bikinis and how we can pair them. Coming off of SXSW, I can definitely use a vacation but with a number of events coming up over the next few weeks it seems that it will be sometime in May or right after my next HSN appearance before I can enjoy solitude. Until then, I'm ok with warm climates and bringing my work with me.

To kick off our Spring Break, on April 14th, we'll have a fun Twitter Party which you can attend virtually and will include 12 editors who will party together as they are shown products that are phenomenal to prep you for Spring Break! We can't wait to share it with you as there are goodies that you may have the opportunity to win virtually.

Wearable Wednesdays ~ His Style - Beach Days Are Coming

Whether you're planning that fab trip to Barbados or are gearing up for your Volleyball games after work, it's about time to start revamping your board shorts, flip flops and more! Yesterday, I saw inspiration in thinking of fun Miami outfits to wear (a la Bravo's Real Housewives of Miami) when it came to going out and being seen in one of my favorite locales. Today I am inspired by the volleyball rituals that I remember seeing when I visited my friend in Chicago as well as those that take place here in Long Beach, NY. Before you know it, it will be that season. Let's face it, many of us have Spring Break Fever whether we're waiting the weather out or have/are jetting off to other areas. This look is fab to wear when you're actually hitting the beach or just walking around your town. It's the perfect time to throw out old tanks, get new shorts and have new flip flops (I know that I must buy new Havaianas in Brasil in every color possible as I have finally worn through them).

Wearable Wednesdays ~ His Style Jets

Don't tell me that there is yet another blizzard like warning? We've gotten a lot of snow on the Northeast and I know we're not the only ones I'm sure. It's the kind of weather that makes you want to leave your normal surroundings and to hit the road! Whether you're going upstate to go snowboarding or heading for a long weekend in Miami, you have to be cognitive of the weather and still dress warm before you're heading to the next location. I love this look as guys look super cute in sweaters like this, they can pair it with simple straight leg jeans and have a great pair of shoes that can be rocked year around! Top it off by adding a great bag to store your items or your significant other! There are many looks that you can rock but why not start with this. If you're doing a staycation weekend, this is still perfect for brunch or afternoon cocktails.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Daalarna

When I grew up, my weekends meant that I enjoyed watching CNN Style Watch each Saturday with Elsa Klensch (thanks Mariana Verkerk, Catwalk Queen who walked down memory lane with me) where she would show runway shows around the world. At an early age, I was mesmerized by the designs as well as seeing names that would become my early education in terms of fashion. When I travel, I love staying at some of the boutique hotels that have a designated fashion channel that shows many emerging as well as independent designers. I started blogging back in 2004 and when I started, what really got me excited about posting each day was talking about various fashion shows that happen all over the world. Back then, I wasn't even attending Fashion Week each season as I didn't have contacts but I loved seeing and introducing my readers to a number of designers that they may not have been aware of! Going forward we will bring you amazing shots from the runway each week. Much like we do during Fashion Week, you will see two fab looks from the show and we will pair pieces that would perfectly with them. This is also perfect as you will be introduced to shows that have recently taken place!

Before the end of last year, Hungarian designer, Benes Anita kicked off December showcasing amazing looks from her line Daalarna Design Studio at the Hotel Inter Continental of Budapest. I love the whimsy of the gowns which would be fab whether you are walking down the aisle or hitting the red carpet. I feel that when you have a dress that makes such a statement, sometimes it's nice to have one phenomenal piece. This dress is a mixture of modern vintage qualities, so why not pair it with a ring that has a nod to vintage sensibilities - I'm loving the ring by Armenta Heraldica. My favorite look from the show is the deep v neck draped top with the tap short. This would be perfect to wear while lounging in your Cabana in Vegas or in Miami while waiting for everyone so that you can hit some of your favorite lounges. The look can be completed with a cute clutch from Nancy Gonzalez and these super fab heels from Prada that add a bit of sexy pop to the entire outfit.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ 2010 in Review Part I

2010 went by super fast and readers were able to enjoy the journey along with us in all of the amazing changes that took place over the past few months. Over the next few days we will have some fabulous recaps as next week is a new page for all of us especially with some new concepts that are being brought on to the site. This year brought a number of press of trips our way but hands down, things turned up when Aly (SheKnow.com), Jeannine (Beauty Sweet Spot) and I hit Miami to hang out with a number of other top bloggers in our industry and the fab teams of Lippe Taylor and Schick. It's definitely hard work to be at a cabana at the Delano and to interact with everyone on the most perfect of 90 degree days and then to party on those 80 degree nights!

We also enjoyed the Hamptons in the fall so of course I rocked plaid chic in the perfect way) and then we spent some time at the Make a Wish Foundation Charity Benefit that took place at 1Oak this fall. We're all about having a good time for a cause of course and that night certainly didn't disappoint. When I think of this year, I also think of the amazing people that I work with that make it possible to do what I do. It's always amazing to add new people to my list of people that I adore! Love that Lori Diamond and I took a moment at a lunch recently as she introduced me to a new client list where members have become friends and she definitely knows how to throw an event! The funny thing is, we were already quasi or pseudo connected! Take sometime to enjoy the above images as I can't think of 2010 without thinking about these items and of course this week we will continue to post up more items!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Kim Kardashian & Fusion Beauty

Last night, I headed to Villa Pascari (in the MPD and such a cute little spot although we were upstairs in the private event space) with Beauty Sweet Spot's, Jeannine Morris and She Knows Editor, Aly Walansky for a night of nibbles, prosecco and of course Kim Kardashion with Fusion Beauty Colorceuticals. The first video talks about the brand Fusion Beauty with their brand representative. It looks into how they started and where they are today. The second video shares Kim's take on style, fashion and about her going to beauty school when she was 14 years old. It was an amazing event and Kim is every bit of what you would expect from seeing her on her shows and super tiny. I felt that I towered a bit above her in my heels when we took pictures (which will be added to this post in a bit). Take some time to check out the video and next week we will post about the amazing items that I received from this event! PS Dash NY opens next week on 199 Spring St so you'll have to check it out if you have never been in the one in Calabas or Miami! Also, I am still getting the hang of the Sony Bloggie so sorry that the first video is slightly off but the second one is better!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Citrus in the Fall

In the fall, there is no excuse to run from color! I love the fact that many of the hues that you wore in the summer are perfect for the fall and winter as well. I ADORE Kimono tops and when they're paired over a pair of leggings, it's such a luxe look. Roberto Cavalli is a master of the print and since this is such a focal point, I love that you can pop in the wave ring by Kanupriya (love love it) which has a fab citrus color and of course creates a nice amount of depth on your hand. In addition, why not have a pair of heels that go beyond a fab pair of black heels. So I think changing it up with these sandals adds a little bling and warmth to the overall look. With the holiday season coming around, this is such a great look but can be worn in a number of climates - a must pack for Miami!

Mingling Mondays ~ Sipping in Free Hours

Brazilian Mint Lemonade

1 part Cuca Fresca Premium Cachaça

2 parts Fresh Lemonade

Splash of Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur

Fresh Lemon Slices

Fresh Mint

The long weekend continues as we settle into our first Mon of Sept. Although it's a day off, I'm still updating my Fashion Week schedule so I have to continue to stay connected! Yesterday I told you a bit about Cuca Fresca (via our post about a day in Fire Island with this fab rum brand as well as Shontelle) which is a Cachaca that is made by a Brazilian family. If you're out and about looking for this spirit, here in NYC you can purchase their rum at Astor Wine and Spirits and since you guys know that I am always in and out of Miami, they are also at The Delano - Florida Room (my new love after my press trip there and Lenny Kravitz's spot) as well as the W South Beach - Library Bar. Their Brazilian Mint Lemonade is the perfect refreshing drink when you're continuing to grill or when you have to check in from time to time on a few projects. This drink is super easy to make and is bound to become a favorite. Enjoy the rest of your day with this drink with the recipe above!

Trendy Thursdays: Project Accessory ~ Living Out of Travel Accessories

I can't believe how many places I have visited within a little over 4 weeks of travel! When you do a lot of it, you start getting your habits down and it's second nature. You make a semblance of home when you're on the road! I always have such an issue when it comes to packing as there are a lot of items in my beauty arsenal that I have to have just in case. What if I find out that I will be doing Z in addition to X and Y? If the day is a little stressing on my body, shouldn't I also bring this too? I like having everything in its place and Stephanie Johnson's Shanghai Collection hang up bag travel case has been and will continue to be a lifesaver! I love that it has tons of pockets, zips and space. Some spaces are larger than others so it's easy for me to put items in compartments. The bottom section was perfect for cosmetics such as Purple Lab's Luvah, Elizabeth Grant's The Socializer, etc and the top ones are good for the actual skincare items. I have to say that in my travels, I loved being able to try new additions to my fave products such as The Liberty Hotel was not only fab as it used to be a jail but they also carriedMolton Brown items and The Delano which is beyond luxurious, Korres. I even love the zebra pouch as it's the perfect place to include items for the time of the month that rolls around.

Although it hangs on the door, it can be folded together and is held securely by a set of clasps. On nights that I did an overnight, I kept everything inside and on the times where I had a few days, I was able to take some of it out.

Sippin Saturdays ~ You're Going to Make it After All

As my plane ascended into the air on my way to my first press trip in Miami, I knew I didn't need any of the magazines that I had brought with me. I intended to read Jon Paul Buchmeyer's 'Alphabet City'. Being someone who came from Indiana and moved out here to make it big and my mark, I knew that there would be some great stories. Written as a sitcom episode, you meet many of the characters that comprise his life! In addition, you see how a guy from Texas finds his way into the world of PR and meets such characters as Tyra Banks, Vanessa Williams and so many more people. Each "episode" he learns about himself and we are taken to a variety of locations geographically as well as within the halls of Conde Nast as well. Much like Devil Wears Prada allows us to live in the splashy world of glitz and glamour while seeing the sacrifices that are being made by the newbie navigating - Jon Paul shares this as well.

We also get to know a lot about Jon Paul as he navigates his family, balancing his work life, finding out what drives his passion and like many of us - finding that perfect guy! As I read this book on the plane I found myself laughing and relating to many of the mishaps that he goes through and you also get a sense of NYC in a time before I arrived. This is definitely a book that I would suggest reading and in fact, I passed mine along to my bestie who had heard me talk so much about this book as it's a great read! If you enjoy Mary Tyler Moore as much as Jon Paul and I do, then you will love his references even more! Find out about his book tour as well as his interesting comments via his blog Alphabet City Blog which reads the same way as his book as well as having quotes from the book in it!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Miami Bound Tomorrow

Oh when I pack, I pack! Here is it that I will be away for about a week where I will be on a press trip in Miami for Schick, on to Mickey's House in Disney and then continuing on to Ft Lauderdale for some R&R! But before that, it takes me about a day to think about everything that I will be bringing with me. Today is a peek into my carry on bag! The bag is obviously familiar as it was used in my photoshoot for the Coach MYNY Fall campaign that is currently on their site for Fall! I'm loving that this bag will head to the airport with me! Now I had to show you some of the items that will be in my bag as they are my essentials!

In addition to my guilty pleasure of Life & Style, I will have Alphabet City by one of my new friends John Paul Buchmeyer which I am so excited to begin reading and is perfect when you're hanging out in the cabanas poolside! Because this trip is all about R&R I know that I will enjoy some bevvies so just in case I get a bit of a headache, I have some Migralex which is an organic headache medicine! When it get's too hot out there I love having my Dickinson's which keeps me cool and refreshed whether I'm getting out of a plane or turning over in my chair at the Delano! I get super thirsty on the way to the airport so I'm happy to have Drink Neuro with me which I will have Sleep with me as I have definitely been missing that over the past few weeks. I plan to be refreshed when I wake up from my slumber to hit the ground running when I head to Miami as there is much to do! With all the sun that I'll be soaking in, I need to have it in a safe way so Jane Iredale is coming strong with the SPF Translucent puff as well as the Lip Drink that has SPF in it as well! What else is in my bag? Well I'll let you know when I finish packing but I can't wait to finish. It'll have to wait as I'm on my way to Suffren, NY to Avon's R&D plant to learn about #LotusShine which is a new haircare product that will be available soon!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Transitionally Fit: Keep it Smooth

As most things are in life, they're a package deal. For those of you that have been following along with me for the past month, you know that we have worked out together while doing Celebrity Trainer Gina Lombardi's, Deadline Fitness. I was approached by Schick to come down to Miami, to stay at the Delano with a number of bloggers many that are my besties to participate in a fun program! It has been a blast as focusing on my workout has allowed me to also focus in on changing up some of my eating habits, trying out new workouts, gear and so much more. When you start doing one thing, it has a trickle effect on everything else. So when the 27th hits, it's not an excuse to stop working out as you hit whatever goals you set for yourself, it's a way to be excited that you made the first or continued steps to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. As you workout you see the outer effects but there are a lot of things going on on the inside that also make you feel so much better about everything!

Upon my return, we will transition from Deadline Fitness to another workout that I am excited about so don't slack now, it's just the beginning! So when you start feeling good, and trimming down, you also need to attack other elements and the Q Squad was comprised of a celebrity trainer, stylist and life coach as all of these are important when you're renewing and moving forward. But I also have to say that it's nice to do the little things or as I call it, "the beautification" Schick is providing me 2 fun kits that can be yours. Leave comments on goals you have for your fitness routine and why it's important to you and you could win one of the packs! A winner will be selected August 4th!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Transitionally Fit: Rejuvenate & Reward

As you know later on this month, I will head down to Miami for a fun few days in the sun with various members from Schick (loved the lunch presentation I attended at The Standard Grill at The Standard NY to learn about the Schick Intuition Plus razors, pomegranate is in our near future and loved the results this morning), The Q Squad and fab bloggers that I'm proud to call friends! This is all apart of our commitment to Deadline Fitness, a book created based on Celebrity Stylist, Gina Lombardi's tips that allow people to intensify their workout when certain deadlines come up. Since June 28th, I've kicked up my workout activity as I not only only want to look my best in general but also for the trip and upcoming ones as well! I've been asked how do I stay motivated. Well being someone that is always running around, I love knowing that that I can focus my energy into working out to get a lot of my extra activity out. Typically, I exercise during the day so that I get off to a good start. Sometimes in a week I have that one day where I really push myself and I may get a little sore but I always have a way to reward and rejuvenate my body so that it's ready for the next day!

With a crazy schedule that will only increase, I love to not only provide treats like a smoothie but also bath products. Maybe one day in a week I take a bath or I'm a huge believer in exfoliating the face and body and of course I am a lotion freak so I love finding extra decadent lotion and pampering myself! There are times that I don't even have time to go to a spa so it's nice that you can turn your bathroom (regardless of space) into one. My workouts are a blend of what I love, items I hate but that I know targets my body and then something new that I may have picked up! For me, my workout is to maintain my good health and to increase my stamina and strength in general which is always a good thing. But although our body is a fine tuned machine, it still is our bodies and deserves to have a little TLC! Keep up the work for those that are working out on Deadline Fitness as you'll see the results the more you stay on it!

Snazzy Sundays ~ Happy 4th of July

One of my favorite days of the year is finally here and today it's all about spending the day with friends, family etc! Whether you're here in NYC, Miami (the image above is the Sunset Lounge at the Mondrian Hotel in Miami) or who knows where - celebrate our nation's birthday in style! If it's as hot where you are as it is here, then you should enjoy a Classic Caipirinha which is the drink of choice at the Sunset Lounge but it's easy enough to make! What are your go to beverages whether you're going out or doing something at home? I will be drinking this or a Lychee Martini as I hang out at my friend's penthouse off of the Hudson to see the fireworks!

Classic Caipirinha

3 flat bar spoons of Hawaiian Sugar

1 whole lime cut into 6-8 wedges

1 ½ oz Cachaca (brazilian cane rum)

Muddle limes, sugar, add cachaca stir with crushed ice

Served in a double old fashioned glass

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Coach's Fall Poppy Collection From Oasis Days to Crisp Nights

Last week I presented the question of whether everyday could be Poppy, if you missed it then you need to check back to find out about Coach's Poppy Fragrance collection. Now in addition to this amazing launch of Poppy's first fragrance, I'm super excited to be apart of Coach's MYNY Poppy campaign launch for fall! For those that are not familiar with Poppy, this is a fun fresh line that came out last year! How excited am I to show you guys the two images that I shot for the brand? I am always inspired by 70's elements, Audrey Hepburn and Barbie (don't ask) and I think these inspirations tie into both of these looks and yes I would definitely spritz a little Poppy to add to that whimsical but sexy sense of style. I have to say that I fell in love with the pieces that I wore because this collection has elements that you can still wear to the Hamptons, South Beach (my little oasis), etc - it's the perfect summer look! But I'm also excited about the fact that they have fab pieces for the Fall that will be perfect for brunches, crisp walks, Fashion Week and so much more. The only items that were missing in my looks were a fab pair of sunglasses as it's a great way to add an instant change to your overall look!

In the summer I love having a bit of that Boho Chic meets Miami so it's all about light and airy colors! A great way to add pop into the outfit are those nice goddess like qualities such as fab sandals. The Poppy Leather Glam Tote in Gold is beyond phenomenal and I do plan on wearing it to a blogger trip that I will take next month to SoBe, imagine having it at the Delano sitting poolside. It's roomy and fun and whatever the weather happens to be, the sun is always coming from you! I also love the Poppy Lightening Bolt Necklace which has Swarovski Crystals that are afixed to a black thunderbolt. Fun and edgy and works well in the fall as well. I love that this works well whether I'm in NYC or jetsetting!

Now I also received the fab Tyler Moto Jacket in Bordeaux is so chic, I love the Farah Fawcet feeling I had as soon as I put this jacket on! I am all about super cute heels (yes my little Jimmy Choos), a great pair of skinny heels, a tank and an awesome jacket which has fab zipper embellishments! This is something that can really work with my wardrobe and can travel well! Let me just say that when I opened the bag the jacket came in, it was definitely super luxe!

I'm so glad to be apart of this fun campaign and seeing that this is the second time that we have been apart of Coach's fab collaborations I'm excited to see the new collection and to introduce it to you! Also check out Coach's MYNY campaign which can be accessed at the "New at Coach" tab under the MYNY link so that you can see the other amazing bloggers that styled pieces from this collection! Who doesn't love tips on what they should be purchasing this fall season?

Trendy Thursdays ~Transitionally Fit: The Look Helps the State of Mind

In this week's edition of Transitionally Fit, it's all about looking good for the workout. Now I can't speak for everyone but my state of mind is much better when I look fab or feel good. When it comes to exercising you do need the right gear as we found with my last post about Natural Fitness Inc and you need the right agenda which we will follow Gina Lombardi's Deadline Fitness book for that but you need the look. Yes, wear appropriate clothing which involves good shoes, proper support etc but for me, it has to be cute. Above is a version of something I wear when I work out. There are days that I love the tank that fits close and then there are other days that I like to look workout chic. If I'm doing yoga, I wear no traction socks and when I am hitting the Elliptical or doing a class or weights, I have sneakers. I love items typically that are in black, white and grey to workout or dark purple. Next Mon, you'll actually see the workouts that I am up to and I will go strong for 30 days so if you have questions, comments, etc send them through! It's all about Miami for the short term (thank you Schick and Q Squad) and of course a long term lifestyle of finding other ways to workout beyond what I currently do!

Snazzy Sundays ~ Lessons From Breakfast at Tiffany's

What a weekend! Sometimes my weekends mean that I have to get some work in and to run some errands which this happened to be one of them. But beyond getting things done, I was able to have some my bestie, sister and her bf come over, headed out to a fun party (kudos to DJ Eloy, my sister's bf who rocked the Shore Club last night), wake up late and then headed into Brooklyn to grab some dim sum with them! You never know where the weekend will take you and with so many people staying over, going out on trips (Kitten Lounge is going to the Hamptons Fourth of July Weekend and then Miami) and more - it's also fun to have some down time!

I'm inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany's for a number of reasons but ask me my favorite scene and it's the one pictured above! Holly Golightly is a party girl and always knows to have a good time but when it comes to shutting the world out and getting Z's - well she still looks fab. I'm a big believer in people looking just as good for bed as they do in the day! So today's spread encourages you to find cute items to sleep in so that when you and your friends wake the next morning to go over the night's activities, you don't find yourself asking yourself what to put on! If you need to shut out the sound as you're hitting the sack at the same time that others would be getting up, these ear plugs are perfect! Also when it's all about pampering yourself after the hectic nature of the weekend, then I suggest you Lush so your tootsies look fab and to also rejuvenate yourself so that you can do it all over again!

Sippin Saturdays ~ Transitionally Fit: The Gear

I always love gathering my items together before doing any project and Deadline Fitness is no different! If you guys want to know how it all began and my involvement with Schick and how it leads to Miami then click here! Earlier this week had the pleasure of finding out more behind the book with our exclusive interview with Gina Lombardi which looks at exercising in a focused way when you have a deadline whether it's getting a part, meeting up with old friends and more.

Although I work out regularly the idea of going to Miami for this trip and then hitting my fashion calendar events have driven me to tone up! Immediately I thought about wanting to get some new items for my home gym as I love the soft weights and the stability ball and didn't have one. Thanks to Natural Fitness, not only do I have a new gym system but they're all eco-fitness products which is super important. In addition they provided a fitness code FITNESS25KS for my readers where you will receive 25% off of your $50 order as a first time user! So not only will you have fab items but you're helping the environment as they plant a tree for each purchase that is made which I think is phenom! When my soft weights arrived, they came with a great series of workouts that I could use which made me happy. At 4lbs each, I know that these will tone up my arms. With the ball, I received the pump as well as an eco DVD (you heard right and at first I thought that mine had been misplaced as it wasn't firm but flexible) - I will start playing with this today.

For those who have fab eyes - yes my workout mat is from Dickinson's as I am a huge fan of their Witch Hazel natural towelettes that I use throughout the day especially after a workout! After going to their event and receiving this mat, it has also been apart of my regimen.

Kudos to those who have responded via email that they would love to workout with me or excited to learn more about the book! This program will start for 30 days on June 28th and I will let you in on all the info! Next week, find out my goals as I am filling out the workbook to see where I currently am and where I want to be - in addition, find out about my workout music next Sat as it's an essential component to me staying in the zone!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Transitionally Fit: Exclusive Interview With Gina Lombardi

As I'm typing this right now, I have pushed the hectic portions of the morning aside and am munching on a salad, bag of carrots and non sweetened green tea as I get a lot of work done. I'm definitely feeling the zen (mainly because I'm back online) but I digress! Last week (Sat to be precise) I let you guys in on a new segment coming to Kitten Lounge - Fitness! Now starting on June 28th, I will begin Deadline Fitness (if you want to catch up on what's going on start here) where I will do a workout that is meant to get me to my goal within 30 days. Although deadline fitness is all about working out within 3 months, 2 months, a month or even 2 weeks it's meant to be a lifestyle> This means, I work out all the time but maybe if I have something really huge going on I may need to intensify and that's where the deadline comes in. At the end of this workout various bloggers including myself, Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot and Aly Walansky of She Knows will be flown out to sunny fab Miami courtesy of Schick. We will have tons of tips from the Q Squad (Gina being one of them) and I will share them with you and hope that you will work out with me! I reached out to Natural Fitness and they graciously sent me two things that I wanted to get as apart of my workout (you too can enjoy a fab discount code for your eco-fitness gear by using FITNESS25KS which gives you 25% off of orders over $50 good for one person now through 6/16/2011 - check in on Saturday to find out about what you guys will see me using in future posts). I began reading Celeb Trainer, Gina Lombardi's book - Deadline Fitness and loved it but had so many questions! Gina and I chatted earlier this week to get more info about fitness, targeted foods and more.

Gina has worked with a number of celebs and has fab client base and she understands that there are options - some love gyms and machines and others don't. In her book she has two tracks - workouts with machines and those without. Although I will use soft hand weights and a stability ball, she explains that you don't need a home gym or equipment. Many times her clients continue their work while they're traveling and living out of their hotel rooms. There are plenty of exercises that you can do to keep on track! So whether you have a lot of space or your in your studio - no excuses!

I have always been someone who works out but my intensity changes depending on whether I had a photoshoot (back in my modeling days) or when I'm hitting this season where I will be in Miami at the end of next month, going to Vegas for the fashion trade shows in Aug, then on to New York Fashion Week and culminating with my sites party for it's 3 Year Party. In times like this I increase my target areas but then certain foods change. I'm not much of a snacker and I eat pretty well but believe me I have my splurge foods (mashed potatoes) they are the first to leave my list of choices. In talking with Gina, I found out that Trader Joe's which we shop at each week as we have one near us and there are a few in the city (yippie that it is coming to Chelsea soon) has an amazing Egg White Salad! They come in various flavors - this weekend I will buy the spicy one and the one that has cheese in it. This is an excellent source of protein and is good for you! She also suggests greek yogurt that you can add crunchy high fiber fruit and nut medley cereal too. It gives you something extra to pop into it while being really good for you. As you get closer to the end of the month, you'll want to start taking out this cereal as something to eat every day and you will have it every other. Protein Powders are great to enjoy as well and are available at Whlolefoods and Trader Joe's as well. But make sure that they are 100% Whey and have no more than 2% carbs. This way you're definitely consuming what your body needs.

To cleanse or not to cleanse. Many of you know that I did the Master Cleanse with boyfriend and Food Editor on this site, Paul Belobritsky - I did not make it 7 days and getting to 3 was tough! I can see the benefits but my body couldn't do it. Gina suggested the Blueprint Cleanse as they have a number of options. After chatting with one of the reps I will actually do a 3 day cleanse of juices as I want to kick off my diet by detoxing a bit (as a side note, I do a little detox at least once a week. My version is that one day a week I drink water and have a raw veggie only diet it's a nice way to give my body some relief and yet I still enjoy eating solid foods). This will happen 3 days prior to June 28th. On the last day of the Deadline, I will do a Juice til Dinner which essentially is another round of juices for the majority of the day and then a meal. In essence, throughout the Deadline I will share the healthy foods that I will be eating to give you guys an idea of my eating habits for the next few months.

Now with all this talk of food, what happens if there is a birthday party or you have an Editor's event or something? Gina gave great points. You could just not eat when you're there. You can eat prior to going and once at your event enjoy a glass of seltzer or find items that do work for you as many events have a salad or something healthy. If that doesn't happen and you feel that you're going to eat what is there, just know that you will need to compensate (I find that I do this). If I enjoy some items that are outside of what I should be eating, I have just added more items to my workout. That could be an extra hour or extra sets of a particular routine.

In working out, you need to stick with it. Find the routines that you like as those will help you out and keep you motivated. Gina suggests to have a buddy and even though you're besties remember that it's a workout you can still chat while hitting your routines hard core. Stay strong, when you hit those slumps remember your goals and find ways to stay encouraged and you'll notice that it becomes easier to get up and out the door to stay fit. Change it up as well, sometimes ruts happen when you do the same thing. There are many yoga, dance, videos on You Tube etc that can let you sample different routines that are either free or affordable. Keep your eyes out as you just might find some fun activities that you never thought of.

The best part of working out is being able to challenge yourself and to understand what you're doing. Gina suggests that people should get a pedometer (you know the little device that counts your steps). Did you know that the minimum daily steps should be 10,000. That means from the time you get up until bedtime every step, walking up the stairs, visiting a shop etc is counted. If you haven't hit it and still haven't exercised then you know you have work to do. When you start hitting 15,000 and 18,000 steps you know you're losing. I walk all over the city I'm the girl who will walk from Penn Station to Jimmy Choo (that's 32nd and 7th ave to 62nd and Madison).

If you have questions or clarifications, email me and I'll reach out as Gina is a fab resource and a motivator. She truly cares about good health. If anyone was following my checkins on Foursquare which also go into my Facebook account, you saw I was at Jamba Juice, I hadn't had one in about a year and they had $1 Jambas for their power blends and of course I had one - this morning I received a comment from Gina "Too Much Sugar" - she was so right I now know why I stopped drinking them and yes I drank tons of water yesterday and added more to my workout today. She later followed up with "Stay STRONG on your workout" - I love it who doesn't want to be motivated? There are more tips to come and I hope this encourages you to workout, follow along with her book and to ask away!
