Fashionable Fridays ~ Life Should Be Blinged Out

As an Accessories Expert, I think that life should definitely be blinged out, dazzling and fabulous! There's something about having fabulous pieces on that bring your outfits to life and it doesn't just stop with what you're wearing - bling can show up any and everywhere. I love to accessorize all the way around (even down to my little Swarovski JackGems). I have been a fan of Swarovksi Crystals for a number of years and I love the campaign that they launched for 2013! How can you not love seeing these fabulous baubles whether it's on a helmet, gloves, dumbbell and mask? The Swarovski Elements campaign was created by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse (Founding Editor and Fashion Director of Details Magazine), shot by Nick Knight and is brought to life with Candice Swanepoel. I love that even her nails are adorned with Swarovski crystals to complete this magical look.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Socially Courageous on Valentine's Day

Earlier this afternoon, I headed around the corner to the Shops at Columbus Circle to Keep it Smooth Shaven by Gillette and Scope Mouthwash! Brooklyn Decker and Baltimore Raven Super Bowl winner Ray Rice were on hand to host this event which aimed to break two Guiness World Records - World's Largest Shaving Lesson AND the most kisses between a couple within a minute. They actually had members from the GWR on hand with their blazers and official clipboards!

Ray kicked it off by shaving in front of everyone and we also learned that 85% of women that were polled agree that a clean shaven man is preferred when kissing as opposed to a man with stubble. Over 330 stations were set up where men signed up to shave and of course, when it came time for the kissing moment, it was all about Scope Mouthwash to keep the moment fresh and magical! I had to pass along some interesting notes whether you're going out with your significant other, heading out for a first date or just hanging out with friends - in terms of being socially courageous, 29% of men say that asking for the first date takes the most courage while 32% of women note that saying "I Love You" takes some serious courage! Flirting online with someone that you want to date is easier according to 18% of people that were asked and 34% of people asked consider themselves outgoing in social situations! When you know that your personal grooming essentials are on point - it makes it that much easier and I do suggest that although you gargle to get ready, for those of us that have bags or even in your pocket, get a little travel bottle that you can put your Scope in to ensure that your kiss is magical and fresh!

Trendy Thursdays: Pre NYFW Beauty Prep ~ Paul Innis

Avon's Makeup Artist, Paul Innis Gets Us NYFW Ready

With NYFW days away, I always think about how to rock fun makeup looks that will look amazing from sitting at the tents to a number of activities that follow during this time! As you know, I'm a Brand Ambassador for Avon and I absolutely adore, their Makeup Artist, Paul Innis. Who better then him to tell me about great looks that can be worn and of course how to get it!

Get the Look – Purple Pop

During Fashion Week, sometimes you need a bold and dramatic look that will turn a lot of heads! For this look I took inspiration from my mother and the way she wore makeup in the 90's. This is definitely a look for someone who isn't afraid of a little color!

Start by using Avon's 8-In-1 Eye Palette in Water Colors. Using the lilac shade in the palette, sweep the shadow from the base of the lashes to your brow bone.

Take the medium blue shade and fill in a little above the eye crease to the base of the lash line. Using the darker blue shadow, line the lower lash line on top and under the eyes.

Add Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Blackest Black all around the lash line, both top and bottom, and then smudge it with Avon’s Ergonomic Eye Liner Brush. Complete the eye by rimming the inside of your entire eye with your liner and applying Super Drama Mascara in Black to your lashes.

Add a nude lip using Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Sheer Naturale and coat with Ultra Color Rich Brilliance Lip Gloss in Pink Icicle.

Finish off this dramatic look by adding blush to your cheekbones. A strong eye and nude lip can wash you out, so to prevent this apply the right amount of blush once the rest of the look is complete.

Get the Look – Kiss & Makeup

Fashion Week can be so hectic and exhausting and this stunningly simple look is quick and easy to apply so you wont be late for any shows! This look is inspired by natural beauty with just a hint of flirty sex appeal.

Apply a moisturizer and foundation best suited to your skin type and tone.

Set the look with Avon Ideal Flawless Loose Powder. Then add a cream blush, such as Avon Be Blushed Stick - for oily skin try a powder blush like Avon Ideal Luminous Blush.

Take Avon Eyeshadow Duet in Dusk or Maize. Use the neutral color and apply all over the eye lids and into the crease.

Use Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Cosmic Brown and smudge into the top of your eye. Finish with a light coat of Super Drama Mascara in Brown Black.

To finish this stunning look, use a vibrant and flirty shade to make you look extraordinary! The model in this image is wearing Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Pretty.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Face Charts

I love this time of year as it's glam on another level! You get to kick off the year with awards season, a number of trade shows showcase what is coming into the market for the fall and of course you have a nunmber of Fashion Weeks globally and that's just the overall calendar within the Fashion industry! There are so many organizational methods taking place to keep everyone on the same page as companies are involved in a number of events and Face Charts are a life saver.

Years ago when I first modeled, I don't believe it registered with me that they were being used as I just sat in the chair and let the magic happen around me; however, when I began to cover backstages of NYFW or attended shoots, I realized that these face charts were not only there so that people had a guide of how the look would be but it was a great way to ensure that the makeup look complimented the clothing. When I launched Shoe Week last year during NYFW, it was much easier to ensure that the vision I had for each runway show was being communicated as I was able to look at the face chart that our makeup artist created! Finally, I even create them for myself for events that I am doing or when I am going on HSN - so simple and easy!

This is a look that was created for Erin Heatherton when she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards and is actually a signature look that I have worn off and on as I love that it has a smouldering eye and a great pop of pink lip, I always call this my "Sun Kissed" look when I am doing TV as it's warm, totally works even for early morning call times (on HSN) and it's super chic! You can find blank face charts for your needs and then play around with creating your desired look!

For those that want to know how to re-create the look from this chart, here is how you can recreate it courtesy of Victoria's Secret Beauty:

FACE

Get this Bronzed Bombshell look by applying VS PRO Radiant FX Face Illuminator everywhere the sun naturally hits: forehead, tops of cheekbones, bridge of nose and tip of the chin.

Lightly dust VS Makeup Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Goddess on temples, under cheekbones, and to the tip of the chin for extra sunkissed radiance followed by VS Makeup Luminous Blush Duo in Starlet.

EYES

Define upper and lower lashlines with VS Makeup Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate. Use a flat, firm liner brush to blend and soften the line.

Apply VS Makeup Shimmer Eye Shadow in Chestnut from lashline to crease. Next, apply more color to the outer corner of the eye and blend up and out towards the brow.

Using fingertips, dab Shimmer Eye Shadow in Taupe Love to the center of the lid. Add a dab of the shadow to the inner corner for an eye-opening effect.

Finish with two coats of VS Makeup Triple Drama Mascara in Blackest Black.

LIPS

Complete the red carpet look with a swipe of VS Makeup Lip Gloss in Intimate.

Mingling Mondays: FW2012 Trends ~ Paige Butcher

As many of you know, the 360 of what I do beyond Kitten Lounge also includes my role as an Accessories Expert. Here recently, I have been working on projects (soon to be announced) where people will ask who have I styled/dressed or who do I wish to dress and how I go about obtaining them. I thought about this when I happened to see images from Saturday night's event for Spike TV with Eddie Murphy: One Night Only. I loved seeing how Eddie's girlfriend, Paige Butcher was dressed. There is something about keeping it simple, stunning and regal so as to compliment your date on his big night while being phenomenal!

Paige is an Australian model who has graced a number of covers including Maxim, Fitness and more. In addition she has appeared in commercials, movies, etc. To be clear I have never met nor have never styled this laid back beauty; however, I can tell she has an inner boho chic vibe which I am drawn to those sensibilities when it comes to styling as you can mix glam and natural elements together. Although I think she looks great, as an Accessories Expert, I would definitely enhance her look with the following:

I would have loved to have seen her rock these Cabochon earrings with Lapis Lazuli (I have been obsessed with this stone since I was in 3rd grade and found that it has been used in many of the jewelry and tombs of Pharoahs! These earrings by Kendra Scott are glam but have a bit of an earthy nature which can be worn for an event or just around town. This Mallary Marks ring is stunning and dynamic. Catherine Weitzman has been one of my fave designers for a number of years and I love this gold leaf cuff. Finally, I would have swapped clutches for this fabulous Nancy Gonzalez blue python clutch has edge which can be rocked with denim to grab drinks with the girls. Together this look is enhanced and yet still looks fabulous with her dress and nude pumps!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Giorgio Armani

Late last month, Giorgio Armani's Menswear show hit Milan Fashion Week! From crisp suiting for the Hamps, to suits at the office he had his models covered. In addition, we're loving the casual style that was perfect for jaunts in the country (or maybe if you're country involves portions of the city that you don't usually hand out)! Can we talk about the accessories and handbags? These items are perfect for women as well! With only 5 weeks to go from New York Fashion Week next month (stay tuned as I co-founded and will be launching Shoe Week and being days from flipping through September magazines, we're so ready!

Mingling Mondays: London 2012 Olympics & SS2012 Trends ~ Ryan Lochte

Team Kitten Lounge has been riveted to the Olympics! From fashionable history to great individual and team sports - what's not to like? Right before we watched the races that included Ryan Lochte Saturday night, I had the chance to watch a story surrounding him about his closet and his love for sneakers (can I also say that I love his accessories as well)! Above we had to show you a bit of his closet, his cover in June 2012's Vogue and his fabulous limited edition Colored Soles that he he created in collaboration with Speedo as he's definitely a style icon! Finally, I thought it was just me but yes that is Ryan rocking his diamond grill next to his Olympic Gold metal. Who knows what this upstate NYer will be up to post the games whether he models, creates a swimwear line or continues to design shoes! I love that he's not afraid to rock his personal style and I have to say that he has an open invitation to come to Shoe Week as we'll be rocking out at our Sneaker Concert event that would be right up his alley!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Axe It Up

A few weeks ago, Paul and I were off to Spin NYC (yes the place that's a bar with ping pong tables) for Axe's Combine House! Hosted by Jason Pierre - Paul (Defensive End for NY Giants and Super Bowl winner) and Kate Upton (recent cover model for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit for 2012), we were able to play ping pong as well as to toss the football around! It was definitely a fun way to expend some energy and to see these two play, do a bit of a runway and just to hang out!

When it comes to fitness, it's always important to do it smelling well - so we're loving this 2 in 1 shampoo conditioner which keeps his style easy as well as saving him time! In addition if you and your guy decide to work out together (Central Park anyone?) - make sure that you have plenty of water to take along with you. I'm loving Victoria's Secret water bottles - even a guy can use this as it's grey and not overly girly. If you're opting to throw the frisbee, play a little football or whatever get's your cardio up, why not bring the perfect bag with you? I received The Chica Bag from Cuddly Monkey which is a great tote whether you're a new mom or a person on the go. I love that the black bag is an East - West style and allows you to bring quite a few items and on the inside, there is a fun lining so you see the contrast and nothing misses your eyes when you're looking in there. There is also a secret pocket that allows you to put items in there for quick accessibility as well. Check out Kitten Lounge's Facebook page to find out how you can win this tote for your next excursion!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Met Ball 2012

Yesterday we swooned over Beyonce looking amazing in her dress at Vogue's Met Ball which was held Mon night! Today, we're all about how chic Tom Ford always looks and how although he rocked a fab accessory, Chanel Iman (she is perfectly accessorized), what else could he have included in his look?

I would have popped in a little red! I love Movado's Red Label Watch which blends well with cufflinks by Barneys which have the same theme as well as one of my favorite designers, David Yurrman. This signet ring with garnet is very classic and more importantly, eye catching!

Swoonfest Saturdays: Lakme Fashion Week ~ Day 1 & 2

03/03/12: Lakme Fashion Week: Designer - Pia Pauro
03/03/12: Lakme Fashion Week: British model turned actress Amy Jackson wears Bhairavi Jaikishan
03/03/12: Lakme Fashion Week: Indian Bollywood actress Zoa Morani wears Payal Kothari
03/02/12: Lakme Fashion Week: Designer - Vikram Phadnis
03/02/12: Lakme Fashion Week: Designers - Shivan and Narresh

I love that everyday someone is hitting a runway and Lakme Fashion Week has been one of my favorites over a number of years. I love the merge of traditional and new fashions that come together with some of my favorite designers. Take a peek at some of the items that hit the runway over the past few days! Shivan and Narresh has a phenomenal look that graced the runway in one of the most popular trends of the past few seasons - color blocking! I love the ornate traditional look presented by Vikram Phadnis and the fabric has such texture. Amy Jackson, British model turned actress struts down the runway in Bhairavi Jaikishan (this stunning woman was her muse) which is yet another gorgeous piece! Bollywood actress, Zoa Morani rocks the very popular tangerine/clementine hue by Payal Kothri and I'm loving this citrusy look of Pia Pauro. Catch the runways live to see the shows from Lakme Fashion Week which continues until March 6th at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai.

Wearable Wednesdays: NYFW FW2012/2013 ~ Theia

One of my favorite designers is Theia whether I'm wearing it for my appearances or just seeing it embraced by celebs and people in the know! I love that this line's premise is on goddesses and each season they bring a new goddess as the muse for the entire collection. Last week, I shared with you their inspiration - Athena! We know this goddess as someone who is powerful, bold and a protector in many ways! I was backstage at this show which had Dashing Diva doing nude nails! In addition, I fell in love with the hair of this show fun loose braids with many of the girls wearing beaded "helmuts" that enhanced the overall look!

Watch the final model walk to see a number of items from this look!

Treasure Tuesdays: Event ~ Hosting Leibish & Co Diamonds

Ah Kittens, we kicked off New Years Day talking about the Pink Prosperity Diamond which is phenomenal and decadent (more on that later); moreover, they are a family run business whose pieces are only available online! This diamond is one of many that is available at Leibish & Co! Valued at $1.6 Million, this is a piece that you will definitely remember seeing and if you have the opportunity to wear it, you won't want to put it down! With my love for all things glitzy and fab, when I was requested for a fun event - there was no way that I could say no! So after gathering fab influencers that should definitely find out more about fab pieces and picking out the perfect Theia Couture dress from their Spring 12 collection, I was very excited to host this event!

As an Accessories Expert, I have appeared on a number of segments, weighed in on articles and I always know the perfect item to complete a look. So when Leibish & Co asked me to come to the St Regis Hotel last Thursday to present their fabulous diamonds and World of Colors Fancy Diamond Chart, my schedule opened up immediately. In attendance was Leibish Polnauer, president of this company. For the past 30 years he has not only offered phenomenal diamonds from a number of price ranges but he just released a colored diagram that showcases the number of hues that diamonds can come in from various white, yellow, reds and more! This comes to over 250+ colors! Above, you can see a number of images from Leibish and I, their gorgeous model who rocked a number of phenom pieces - pieces that were actually owned by an amazing couple who attended sharing their story and how diamonds are an investment for them as they spent over $1 Million.

I loved being able to take attendees through a walk through of the diamonds offered and introducing people to those who have purchased Leibish & Co diamonds over the years. Being able to wear the Pink Prosperity Diamond was definitely something amazing and wearing a fabulous Yellow Diamond bracelet that was 54 carats and $160,000 was phenomenal - it was sad to take them off at the end of the night! Of course, at every event, it's a way for me to chat with friends and my sister (she is on my right above). See more about the event and those that popped by visiting, Leibish & Co's page! Swoonfest Saturdays: Bridal Week SS 2012/Fall 2012 ~ Romona Keveza Collection

What a day, my favorite evening and bridalwear designer had two phenomenal shows today. Romona Keveza is passionate about her designs, use of fabrics as well as fab tailoring! This morning, my mom and I headed to the St Regis Hotel on the 2nd floor in the library to see the couture collection for Spring/Summer 2012, which was stunning and had strong influence from Brigitte Bardot who is phenomenal! There were a number of gowns that I knew I wanted to wear at red carpet events as well as could see myself wearing a number of the bridal gowns. As always, I have a fab clip of video footage that shows the final runway walk of this show. You can also see members of Kleinfeld - Mara Urshel, the co-founder of Kleinfeld as well as Randi Fenoli from the same salon who also has their own show on TLC - Say Yes to the Dress. There is such a touching moment in the video where she walks out with the model and gives her flowers to her mother - so sweet!

Later on in the afternoon we enjoyed Legends by Romona Keveza for Fall 2012 with commentary by Romona herself at the Dior Suite within the St Regis Hotel! She also brought in some of the items from the couture collection to speak about them. I loved being able to ask questions and drool over a number of pieces as well as hearing about those items that had recently been on the runway. The image above comes from the couture collection but we also got to see the Tiffany Blue dress up close and personal. Below are a number of amazing videos from this section of the day and you'll also find out how some of the bridal traditions that we hold today were derived from reasons that you would not associate with them. In addition, one of the models actually wore the dress that she presented to us for her own wedding; moreover, she shared her thoughts on the dress and definitely embraced how amazing she looked!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Take a Walk Via Fall Windows

I love this time of year when you can walk around with a few layers on and yet still have the need to want to be outside. Many of you know that I started in the fashion industry first as a model and then as a visual merchandiser (doing amazing window displays for a number of premium brands). Fall is one of my favorite seasons to check out the windows and since I live not too far away from Saks and around the corner from Bergdorfs I always pay super close attention to their visuals! My good little Kittens saw these images last night as I was walking and Tumbling the looks I loved and how I would be bringing this into my wardrobe by taking components and having them remade to be very Kimmie like. This fall, there are a number of phenom trends that we can think about bringing into our look from - texture, light hues and draping. At Bergdorfs, I'm loving the grey trench with the fur that brings in a pop of color. I love tailored items and I love the hat that picks up the fur color. Whether you're rocking a fur collar or finding another way to add a pop of something (anything Swarovski like - amaze). Bergdorfs also rocked it out with gorgeous blush tone dresses that has sparkle and ostrich feathers - find a way to bring this in ladies whether it's on the dress or an accessory that picks this up - must have now

As I said last night, you can never go wrong with Chanel and this tweed cloak must be seen in person as it has a number of textured fabrics in black and white of course and would look fabulous over a pair of leggings with thigh high or equestrian style boots. Saks brought it with the Chanel series of windows and really took it to the next level with this diva centric windo with caged booties (get a pair NOW) and textured tights. When I was at Robert Verdi's during my Meet and Greets for the launch of my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 shoe line, I loved that Hanes was there and they were definitely pushing textured tights (just like Capezio did when I was at their booths this summer for their tradeshow). You know I'm not a tight girl but I am loving this trend and will rock it out every now and then. Stay tuned for more window love throughout the fall and holiday season!

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Work to Weekend

Although we have all see the Fall 11 campaigns, I had to share the DKNY Men's campaign which started popping up in July. I love that models Jon K, Patrick Kafka and Corey Baptiste were styled by Melanie Ward to go from various dress styles for work and then the weekend! There is such a casual cool and we see it through the eyes of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. This is definitely a great collection for your guy to rock.

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Rocks Less

We're only a few weeks from NY Fashion Week and as you've noticed, each week there has been a post or two including runway shows from this summer that we loved and brought to share with you. The runways are all about the environment as a whole from the models that rock it, to the commotion in general and of course who happens to be at the show themselves. AT Diesel's Mercedes Benz Miami Swim Fashion Week show this past July, not only did their runway have men and women rocking the best of summer looks but Theophilus London, musician (who I met in DR while designing my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 12 collection - he is sitting on the far right with the hat), attended the show with a number of football players who were sprinkled throughout as well. When it comes to the summer, less is more without a doubt and his style definitely works within that mantra.

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Luli Fama Rocks Vibrancy

07/17/11: A model walks the runway at the Luli Fama show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week...

You know I love showing runways from shows past and today, I'm all about Luli Fama which heated up the runways during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim this past July. I'm such a fan of the brand as they embrace color, fun stripes and so much ore - it oozes sexiness. With the last few weeks of the summer coming faster then we can catch the rays, we have to still think about adding to our bikini closet. In fact, even though the summer may be ending in your neck of the woods, there are still tons of opportunities to go sun chasing in other locales. Enjoy the festive and vibrant show!

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Lanvin Rocks Paris

Everyday someone somewhere is hitting the runway and rocking a phenom look. Yesterday Lanvin's Ready to Wear line came alive in Paris. As always, we're sharing what looks we loved the most. I am all about one shoulder dresses and anything that has the Greco/Roman inspiration is absolutely perfect. I love this slate color as it begs to have accessories that make the overall look pop! In addition, I'm all about classic pieces that have a bit of a stunning look to it and this dress with the large embellishment and a deep V is perfect! Enjoy one of my favorite designers and continue to think how phenomenal your Autumn/Winter collection will look with these items in it!

NY Fashion Week F/W 2011: Fashionable Fridays ~ Christopher Raeburn for Victorinox

Yesterday we left 90's glam of Vena Cava and was transported to a world where art, fashion, reclamation and multimedia came together for one of the best presentations that I have seen since I have been in NYC! If you're familiar with Swiss Army and their knives, then you are familiar with a portion of what makes up their line, Victorinox. They're a Swiss based brand that is classic while maintaining their rugged nature. For their Fall 2011 collection, they partnered with Christopher Raeburn who is all about being Remade. His collection repurposes items so that you can wear them in a new way. This sensibility was brought to Victorinox.

Upon entering Eyebeam studios, you were introduced to the collection that was handing suspended in air with light focusing on various pieces in the room. I was directed by the fab marketing team which I have a special place for, to an area circled by large screens. This portion of the presentation showed you the process of how the garment came into being. If you loved the parka, you learned that it was once made from sleeping bags or parachutes and with stop action video you saw it's genesis and it was placed on a model. The video also had sounds that played along. The music of the sound of a scissor, hearing fabric hitting the table, machines threaded, etc reminded me of when I went to Sebago's factories in DR and watched and heard the process of craftsmanship in the making! Each video told the stories and I watched each one from various vantage points.

Upon leaving the area, there was a gallery of faces which had all the models in the video. You realized (in case you missed it in the video) that these people worked at the company and their positions and length of time was stated. Of course, they wore the items that were in the video. Continuing on the wall, you learned about how Christopher Raeburn came to Victorinox to create Switzerland Remade and how he was able to bring in a sense of himself as well to the project beyond just designing. With all of this information, you were brought back to the checkerboard/installation of the collection. Now these scarves, parkas, jackets, backpacks etc had a new meaning. With each one being made by reclaimed items and being available in limited quantities (100), you felt that this was more than a collection as there is something very special about this curated project.

Mingling Mondays ~ Resort Tory Burch Style

As you're reading this, I'm flying to St Petersburg for HSN so that I can start training on camera for my time with Sebago which will take place in Feb! I am a huge fan of Tory Burch, her boho chic style is one that I love without question and I have also enjoyed throwing an event at their NoHo store as well. Last wek, I kicked off the first day of December at their Meat Packing District Store with a number of bloggers. Our mission was to style a look from the resort collection whether it was ski inspired or beach oriented! Now knowing me, you know that I had to think beach. My vision was to have a nautical bikini that had a gorg orange cardigan to create a pop of color as you head to your SoBe cabana (preferably at the Delano). Accessories are everything, so I loved including wedges, a large bag and gorg shell necklaces and a bracelet to complete this look. I think that my model is phenom and even even better - I would SO wear this look without a second thought! Although I love it, you'll be able to have the opportunity to vote for your favorite model look so that you can weigh in on Tory Burch's Facebook Page!

Trendy Thursdays: Day 7 Spring 2011 ~ Tory Burch

You know I'm a fan of Tory Burch so I don't even have to go into detail about that! But I must say that I loved seeing her presentation! I was overwhelmed with the bags, clothes, accessories and more! Seeing the models standing there with pops of citron and mustard Tory once again proved how classic her boho chic style truly is! Above are two of my favorite looks from the show and as always, you can go to Elle.com to see more fabulous pieces as well as images of the amazing people that popped up at this event including the designer herself!

Sippin Saturdays ~ Rock the Last Bikinis of Summer

It's almost official. Next weekend pretty much closes the door on summer and although we have transitioned into fall for the most part on this site, we realize that we can still squeeze out some more summer looks on a case by case basis! This weekend I have been soaking up some much needed sun as most of my summer has been spent traveling. I am obsessed with Vitamin A which has amazing swimsuits (how cute is the model in their campaign) and of course in typical style around Kitten Lounge, it's all about the accessories which can be worn with a number of other looks.

I am not a Prada girl when it comes to their handbags, but I love the shoes and these platform wedges are super cute and have that great aged look. I also love the ombre bag by Yves Saint Laurent which can be worn well into the fall. This is so luxe (imagine it with a fab pair of skinny jeans, booties and large sunglasses) and can fit a number of my items that I bring with me - this screams jetset. I am obsessed with the Tiffany & Co Keys - I love large keys and it makes a fab statement when you're out and about wearing it. I feel that every season, I always feel a little bittersweet at the end of the summer - the days of hanging out on rooftops with perfect weather get less and less, the madness of Fashion Week is only days away, my birthday is on the 12th of next month and yet I'm always excited to begin a number of projects that are focused on the fall and the summer. Because of that, I always get a signature accessory at the end of the summer which bridges into my fall wardrobe. It's a way of keeping a bit of an amazing time with me while I go forward! The key is just a sentimental and huge symbol for me that this is one that I would love to have to remind me of the significance of summer 2010 (all the press trips, becoming a Crest Spokesmodel/Ambassador and so many items that I will begin to share as we roll out over the next few weeks)!

The reality is that as long as the weather feels amazing and we can continue to wear flip flops then the summer continues on if only in our minds! Follow the #KL31BdayStar picks for our essentials for fall and what's on my birthday list!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Meeting Iman!

The past couple of days have been chaotic, transformative, inspirational and at times emotional. There are definitely changes coming for the better and in a post later on today, I'll share this as I have met so many people recently that are on the same page as me and have basically validated a lot of things that I have been thinking about over the past two months; however, that's another topic! As I ran around yesterday from client consultations, presentations and finally to LOFT's fall preview (I have to say that I was shocked and amazed at many of the items that will be in their stores and it's a good thing - Joe Zee, Creative Director of Elle, also agreed as well as I literally turned into him before I headed over to the next series of displays) - my mind couldn't stop thinking about today. Yes I have a million things to do today but more importantly, I'm meeting with Iman. What can you say about this striking catwalk model who turned her looks and passion for fashion into an empire of cosmetics, The Color of Beauty (great coffee table read) and her own line on HSN!

There have been a lot of events this week that I have been excited so I'm glad to keep the good events going. So in the midst of everything, above are fab items that I will be wearing as I haven't exactly picked the right outfit yet although I do know my accessories (yeah Alexis Bittar). I'm obsessed with Body Scrubs and this one from Dermadoctor is one of my favorites and they just launched on QVC yesterday so if anyone got the chance to talk with Dr Audrey Kunin, I'd love to know what you asked her! Of course I'm wearing gloss from Iman's collection as I would feel bad not supporting her since I will be at her event! Last month at my visit to Natori's home to hear about her Essentials Collection, I found out about her amazing perfume and if you are a fan of Chanel No 5(which was my initial fave), this is a scent that at first reminds you of it and then takes it to a complete 3.0! I love the black orchid and that really rich plum tone to it - it's like exotic empress! Finally, Sue Devitt Beauty has an amazing collection and as her line if reminiscent of the islands, I love her Kilimanjaro collection which is brand new. I definitely want to go for this fab island look and of course will share all the details of this event and will have my Flip at the ready!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Decorate Your Pink Parts

No I'm not being cheeky (as this is a tagline) and yet I have a story. A few months ago, I was told about the cutest lingerie store through a friend. I think I may have visited the website or saw a picture and as things go sometimes, I was never able to research it for myself. Fast forward to the past few weeks when I decided to plan a decadent event with a friend. As life would have it, I had lunch with another friend, Franco Lacosta who said "I know of an amazing store that you should check out". As soon as he said Sugar Cookies, I had to stop him as I was positive that I knew of the store and after taking a walk around the corner, the picture in my mind was confirmed by what I saw!

As a former lingerie models, this is my second favorite portion of my outfit (I do have a passion for accessories). With my love for it, I have yet to find a cute boutique that carries various brands and feels like your own home! Here at Sugar Cookies, you walk into a store that feels like your friend's loft that has all the lingerie you could ever imagine as well as the feel of hanging out in someone's home. You feel like you're in a chic boudoir and that Carrie herself may be running in with Charlotte or Samantha to explain some misunderstanding between herself and Big! When I popped by, I was greeted by Susanne (one of the owners) and her super cute and friendly dog, Kodi! With this store being open for the past two years, this is one that should be on our list when we're out and about to do a little shopping. I am now obsessed with this store and definitely feel that if you're in NYC, you must come here as well. I can't wait until their e-commerce takes off as I can only assume that their e-home will have the same cozy effect!

In the coming months, you will hear more about this super cute boutique on the Kitten Lounge but for now, I wanted to introduce you and to encourage you to drop by!
