Being away last week really made me feel relaxed. There is nothing like the island sun to get your mind at rest. While I was on vacation, people wondered how I had the sun kissed look regardless of whether it was day or night. In addition many ask me what I think about using certain brands. Whatever your interest, I have a selection of products that I love and couldn't imagine not going with me on my trp. From Urban Decay, I have some great items that were placed witihn one of my favorite makep bags, Stephanie Johnson.
First of all Merry Christmas! It's interesting, the holiday season is more than just the 25th! Today I am spending it with my boyfriend and his family and tomorrow, I am spending it with mine. So I want to wish everyone a good holiday regardless of what you choose to celebrate but I hope it's full of all the gifts that can and can't be opened. We are continuing on my top 10 lists that began earlier this week and will continue on until the end of the year! I have tried a lot of makeup and beauty goodies from the back of the year on. Some have been interesting and the ones in this list include what I have on no matter what! They are a must have and if you're wondering if this is amazing then I am saying YES without a doubt!
1) Yes to Carrots: I love the fact that this is a natural line and I am a fan of their body butter and also their mud mask. After trying the line which includes three mini lines (carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes) - I am definitely a carrot girl! I will say that my mom is a cucumber lady! It's an affordable brand that you should include that leaves your skin moisturized!
2) NARS: I have become a NARS girl! I love their eyeshadows especially the ones that included crush pearls! It has made me wear eyeshadow a lot more beyond in the evening!
3) Mistral Soap: It has a great fresh scent and there are quite a few to choose from! The packaging is also amazing as well.
4) Urban Decay: I love the black eyeline from the Velvet Rope collection. I feel like a rock star but definitely not overdone by any means. When I want to really glam it up, I just go slightly heavier for an all around look.
5) Model Co: Um what's not to love? Their Exfoliant Wipes are a must! One side takes off what you don't need while the other buffs your skin. It leaves you glowing! In addition, they have a body mist which has a frangipani scent as well. Of course the packaging is perfectly girl as well.
6) Dashing Diva: If I've said it once, I've said it a million times. This is my nail salon! I go here for my manis, pedis and a sip of wine as well. It's a sanctuary.
7) Beam Laser Spa: What can I say? I completed my third session and I am three away from being completely hair free under my arms! This UWS spa is amazing and will make you hairless too! They are running a promo where you can get 25% off if you contact them prior to the end of the year!
8) Boots: I use their day and night creams. After learning about them during Fashion Week, I haven't stopped using them!
9) Dove: I use the Cool Cucumber Face Wipes everyday to clean my face. I have been using it for years and have no intention of not having this within my beauty regimine. I also use the deodarent in Fresh!
10) Stephanie Johnson: I use this to carry my makeup (I also have other totes as well). I love that they are fun and colorful!
Today was an interesting day which also explains my delay in sending out the post. It has been a rainy but productive day! Today I was apart of a taping that will be on CBS and included sometime next week. With the holidays being around the corner, I enjoyed being fitted into great looks that would be perfect for a festive occassion and I love that most of my makeup came from NARS. When it comes to makeup, I'm pretty basic in the sense that I love playing up my eyes but I don't know all the fancy tricks so as I sat in Space NK's studio, I chatted up David asking him what he was doing and how I could do it on my own (yeah I don't know about that).
When he finished off my look, NARS Body Glow on my skin. I have seen this so many times and always thought it would be too gold but interestingly enough (and thankfully), I found it to be the perfect shimmer that could not only be worn at night but in the day as well! This is definitely on my wish list and speaking of, there are two additional items that I think would make great gifts! I love the NARS Velvet Matte Lip set as it comes with a trio of pencils and a pencil sharpner (I love when I have that included so that I don't have to run trying to find it in my local Sephora). I also love the NARS lipgloss collectionn as you never know what mood you're in (I also like if you have friends over and they don't have a gloss you have enough to share). For me, I am never without MAC and now NARS which are my makeup musts when you see me out and about. When the show airs, you'll see what NARS products David used!
Today we have a treat from our friends at NARS. NARS International Senior Stylist James Boehmer give us tips on how to have a fresh face and to make sure that we all look our best! The second video, has NARS International Senior Stylist Uzo ensuring that that you have the perfect contoured cheek. What I love most about these videos is that you have an amazing series of tips and you'll also see what items they're using so that you can get them yourself. This is a must since we are coming up on the holiday season!
All the planning and tests of endurance and witihin a few days, it's all over! Well the good news is there will be some recapping on Fashion Week next week but we will start to go back to our normal structure. There were a lot of outfits and coverage that made it onto other media outlets which I can't wait to share with you and my lovely sponsors but I don't have the footage and like you, will have to wait for it. When I receive it, I will let you guys know! With that being said I am recovering from Fashion Week and definitely had some parting thoughts and I have a new Fashion Week that I will let you know about shortly that I will be covering which takes place right before the holidays and it's International as well! We are getting the last bolts tied down but I can't wait to share with you.
Fashion Week - I have been to shows before but never seriously covered it in the way that I did this year! It definitely take a lot of planning and there are events that happen prior to, during and after! My big thing was feeling amazing each day and it wouldn't have been possible without starting off the day with my beauty regimine which consisted of Mistral Soap (I used a different one everyday and always smelled amazing - they are a must for any day), Nars Cosmetics (I need to know that I will look amazing and not have to retouch as I was running around all over the place) and Model Co (which kept me fresh with the misting sprays). These were my basic tools that I relied on!
Comfortable but amazing clothing was a must as well - Lauren Conrad's Collection made everyone smile as I went from the tents, suites and off site locations! I can't thank their staff enough and it actually made it live on air in Sacramento since Fox News was at the tents on Friday and a few Japanese magazines (once again, when I get the footage and magazines, I will let you know). Linea Pelle had amazing belts and on the first day and with my outfit from Inhabit, I included it within my look which was amazing. It just goes to show you that you can put your flair in there and still look amazing.
Every now and then I had to take a breather and constantly rework my schedule as I had plans to see one event but would recieve an invitation to another. When covering the shows flexibility is the key! Most important, being able to hang out with people in the industry and to remember that this is an amazing series of days is also key. I have to thank Sam Dark PR and Dashing Diva for not only keeping me amazing in manis and pedis but letting us go back stage to Erin Fetherston and Tony Cohen to see what they do and what it takes to put on such a show. I love you guys and it added so much to this coverage.
Finally, when it was over, yesterday was my birthday and with Lauren Conrad on my back I felt amazing covering the show and then heading out to dinner at Nam with my boyfriend and later to Mocca Lounge. There is nothing like hanging out in Tribeca with the rain, a few friends and your boyfriend. Today, I'm heading out to the beach and working on covering the super secret Fashion Week but it was all worth it and I can't wait to do it all over again in a new location! I have included two images: one is me on the red carpet of the Total Beauty party which kicked off Fashion Week. They had a daily sponsored suite at the Bryant Park Hotel with Chanel, Ted Gibson, Aveda and more. It was nice to meet fellow bloggers and to get away from the madness. You guys throw a great event. The next is last night at Mocca Lounge after a few drinks with Paul our Food Editor and also my boyfriend. Speaking of Food Editor, he was linked on Food Channel so you can learn a bit more about him there!
I made it through the first day. It was a lot of fun and nothing is better than jumping in with both feet and just going with the plan - you know that there isn't really one. I have to say that I was a little tired towards the end and all the running around was making us all a bit sweaty but it wasn't too bad - I had Lauren Conrad, Linea Pelle, Mistral Soaps and Nars Cosmetics to push me to the last bit of energy! Check out my parting words for the end of day one at New York Fashion Week!
I don't know if there is such a thing as Fashion Week Night's Eve but if not, I am making it official! I am so pleased to have every single sponsor that has helped me to be ready for Fashion Week but I must give a shout out to you guys! I am so pleased that for all intensive purposes, Lauren Conrad has dressed me for the entire week! This is not to say that I am not excited about Inhabit NY! I am all about organic and can't wait to share this look with you. Dark Pr, the entire staff has been absoultely amazing and has put me in touch with amazing brands that are making this event that much better. Erika at Nars Cosmetics has made sure that I look very glam and yet true to the way that you would find me when I am out and about. Mistral Soaps is making sure that I start the day smelling amazing so that I can continue from one show to the next. I am so obsessed with this brand and I have to say that they have been amazing in allowing me to sample various items that I can't wait to share with you each day! Fashion Week for better when I had the most relaxing session at Dashing Diva last night! Thank you so much for the mani/pedi which will ensure that I look amazing and thanks for allowing me to get to know you guys - no matter where I am, I can always find time to make my way to the 15th and 3rd Ave location! This is not my first time attending the shows, but it is my first time in doing the coverage and in such a spread out fashion but I can't wait for your feedback and for you to see the amazing videos as well! Finally, via the power of Twitter and just going to events, I am glad to increase my knowledge of those that are in the blogging and related spheres that have become my friends and have helped me to hone my skills and to see beyond my own vision of what I would like to do - I look forward to continue to work and share with you.
So last night I was organizing my Fashion Week coverage as I wanted to make sure that I had lots of goodies to share and I thought about a lot of the work that is involved in such an undertaking. Even more so, it's amazing when you reach out to great brands that also want to be apart of the experience as well! Of course, it's great to get emails and comments from you guys that are excited to see the coverage. It just made me really giddy as I know that the days will be long but it will be a fun experience to share with all of you! So in that light, I wanted to say thank you to those who are supporting when you hear me talking about the shows, how I should cover it and what I want to do in terms of my video project that I will be doing! Thanks to other bloggers and community mavens that have provided tips, info etc to be more prepared. I don't want to leave anyone out so I will say "you know who you all are!" and finally I have some amazing sponsors that typically would be in my sidebar but I am having some slight issues and I want everyone to see them even if they were in the sidebar! Check them out as they are going above and beyond and are ensuring that this will be successful - THANK YOU EVERYONE!

I love Nars Cosmetics. They have a fabulous product that makes sure that we look amazing. I have definitely been excited to try their Black Eye Set which ensures that we can have that fabulously perfect smoky eye without having to figure out all the items that are needed. This set comes with the eyeliner pencil, mascara, dual eyeshadow and of course eye remover as well. Although it is available as a limited edition, you'll definitely want to make sure you have this and they also include instructions as well to make sure that you master your new craft!
Sorry for the tiny image but I am so excited about this new eyeshadow that I purchased at Sephora from NARS Cosmetics. I love that their new Spring 2008 Collection has amazing shades that add a bitter of shimmer. This shade is known as Night Clubbing - it is black mixed with gold pearls! Those who know me know that I am not a gold girl; however, I loved the shimmer that I received when I tried this on. Depending on what you fall in love with, you'll be ready for the clubs in no time whatsoever. The secret to the amazing and seductive portion of this collection is the fact that pearls of various colors are mixed in to give you that amazing look! Nothing is better than playing with your makeup and giving yourself a variety of looks. I am so falling in love with this line and can't wait to test it out in Las Vegas next month during Project, Lingerie Show and Magic!
