I'm not into overt sparkle but a fab and subtle iridescence, I'm all about that without a question! I love that it translates well whether you're talking about day or night. These are some of my fave beauty items that look well on a number of skin tones and add a bit of pop to the overall look! Today's spread focuses on two of my favorite things - eyeshadow, which I typically do not wear but when I feel there is a need to be made up, this is my go to. The other, my essential beauty accessory - nail polish and as always preferred in a rich dark color with a bit of shimmer in it!
All of my faves are inspired by this fabulous Dara Ettinger Sharon Geode Sliced Cocktail Ring which has a great neutral with a fabulous mix of colors that bring out little elements of your personality and what you want others to know about you. As always my ring is one of my main accessories to rock as I think it's a great conversation piece and it sets the tone of my look and gives a lot of indication into my personality.
GET THE BEAUTY LOOK
Eyeshadow is something that I love but in my 5 mins get up and go routine, rarely do you see me rocking it day or night which is interesting as my eyes are definitely something that I focus on. But when it's a moment that I need to step it up whether day or night, you'll see me rocking mega notice me eyeshadow OR when I am doing my appearances or segments. I am a huge fan of what is called the Marble look. This is because it's fun to mix it with other hues when I'm feeling my inner makeup artist and yet I can just wear it on its own as it's already infused with a number of hues. Nobody does it better then Laura Geller with her Baked line. I have been wearing it for years and I feel it's an essential. Other faves include Giorgio Armani's Maestro quad eyeshadow - which has a great pop of blue and I love that charcoal hue which is one of my faves to wear. For their take on marbelized, Armani Beauty's Eyes to Kill has a great golden tone with a pop of bronze. Bobbi Brown has a fab metallic hue as well which is more of a gold - think fun disco chic. Finally everyone needs that bronze look as worn alone it smouldering and when layered with other eyeshadows it's super decadent! Nars' eyeshadow in cream is an essential within my cosmetic case.
When it comes to nail polish, you'd laugh if you saw how many colors I have and how many hues I have that are only slightly different from one another. I have a series of colors that I love to wear and they all tend to be in the dark spectrum but the amount of variety that I have within this area is pretty eye opening. In terms of variety, there are hues that I have that I tend not to wear unless it is being requested by someone for something that I'm working on. For those that like a great neutral, Deborah Lippmann which is Naked. A great toned down gold shimmer is Essie's Good as Gold. Now of course, when I'm not asked to wear a specific hue, then I love going to my faves. Butter London is one of my favorite brands to wear (but you'll also see me rocking the other two as I think they have great coverage, last for a great amount of time and they look AMAZING). They have such a range of color and this fabulous green shimmer has the bling effect with a great rich hue. If I'm not in a high shimmer/rich hue then I will go the other way with a color that is so dark that it has tones of black in it with a shimmer so it doesn't have a matte effect.
As you know, it's NYFW and it's definitely difficult to balance a super cute outfit when there is a blizzard outside. There are times when you definitely want to wear a cute outfit that's super cute and girly if it's for a special presentation, a dinner etc! I have a few key events next weeks that regardless of the weather, I will be rocking a cute outfit (and running in and out via a car service)! I have been obsessed with Tulle Skirts lately and was so pleased when I received a fabulous skirt to wear during NYFW and an opportunity to share a giveaway as well as a discount code with you! I will rock my skirt on the last day of NYFW which happens to be Valentine's Day as well but for those wondering how one can wear this look now or during the spring, of course I had to accessorize it.
With this tulle skirt, there's a lot of volume so I like items that are a little more fitting and create a silhouette by playing with proportions. This palette is about neutrals so I paired this Tees by Tina blush cami with this cream tulle skirt with bow. I actually wear tank tops year around and Iove this Liska fox fur bolero. Make sure you're warm when you're outside with this Miu Miu double breasted wool gaberdine coat which continues to keep the color flow. keep your hands warm and fashionable with these 3.1 Phillip Lim fingerless gloves (so you can continue to text as you shuttle across town).
Accessories are an essential with any outfit and I love that they can be worn with a number of looks. Typically, I never wear earrings but on special occasions it's nice to wear something different and I highly suggest these Federica Rettore sapphire, pink tourmine and diamond earrings which are a nod to geometria. One of my favorite accessories is a signature ring and this one by Irene Neuwirth is an opal in rose gold with an emerald cut. Wrap bracelets are always a fun way of making sure that you have a bit of a boho chic vibe in your outfit and this natural hued one by Chan Luu is perfect. I do love going over the top with a number of my necklaces is this piece by Erickson Beamon is perfection. This piece is also amazing to wear when you have a simple tank and jeans - it's definitely a conversation piece. These heels by Charlotte Olympia are so cute and are just the thing to wear for Valentine's Day or anytime that you feel like rocking hearts. Finally, the bag completes the look and this one by Marc Jacobs is a great way to make an appearance.
Today, I'm kicking off a fabulous giveaway which involves Shabby Apple as I love their Tinsel Town Tulle Skirt and there are a number of items that may tickle your fancy. As many of you know, I have received laser treatments for under my arms before and the experience was great. My biggest concern was that by having darker skin, you have to ensure that the lasers that are being used on you or for your skin so that you don't have discoloration! I learned that the Alexandrite laser is what you have to look for if you get laser treatments and have darker skin. Recently, I received the No! No! Hair and I fell in love with it. There are no lasers in this treatment as it uses thermal treatment. The longer you use it, over time it makes hair finer and disappear over time. Guys and girls can wear this and you can take it wherever you happen to be going! With a number of heads which allow you to take care of smaller areas (face and bikini line) as well as larger areas (legs) and the buffing items - you'll be that much closer to hairless, sexy skin. Of course when you start talking about glowing skin, I believe that it is all about having an amazing system! Hairless skin meet soft and luminous skin with additional items that are a mist to have!
Obviously, your skin needs to be dry when using this tool and don't be worried if you smell burning hair as this is something that is totally normal. If you're prepping your face, I have fallen in love with St Ives Apricot Scrub which is a gentle exfoliant that I have been taking on recent travels. These thin pads clean your face and also ensure that little rough areas are taken off of your skin. After loving Soap and Glory's Flake Away treatment that I shared with a few weeks ago to make your legs fab, I had to share with you their Butter Yourself Body Cream which is a great way to keep your skin refreshed and smooth! For the past 5 or 6 summers I have always shared how much I love Nars Cosmetics' Body Glow which I believe is perfect for all skin tones. I like that it gives me that warm tone as if I have been enjoying the sun (in a healthy way) and have that natural glow. L'Occitane has a fab lip balm in a Desert Rose fragrance which is perfect when we're transitioning into consistent summer warm weather. I also love a great scrub and Caudalie has a fab one that is infused with Cabernet (as all their products have wine varietals included) which is a great way to keep your skin looking amazing. Finally, I'm all about my Clarisonic Plus which allows you to use it for your face and body as there are two heads that come with this! Together, you're skin will be summer ready for sure.
As we know, Earth Day is on Sunday. It's even more evident when we're out and about that we all love and care for this planet. There's an excitement when we're able to peel off layers, lay in the grass, eating outside and simply taking a walk. So every little bit helps when it comes to finding ways to save the treasures that are in our ecosystem. With that said, Earth is not only a noursihing place for us but it really does have everything that we need. Released today via a collaboration between Burt's Bees and composer/genius Diego Stocco (creator of Bassoforte) is a symphony where all the music is created by nature from rice, orange peels, beatboxing branches and yes even the bee! Enjoy this symphonic rap and continue to think about how the Earth and our place in it is an essential component to our day to day lives.

When it comes to my go to holiday look, I don't mind being a bit more bold then I normally would! I'm all about subtle hues for sure when it comes to my face but I love a bold eye. Here are some of my personal faves that I don't leave without and always have in my bag especially during the holiday season in case I need to spruce up quickly! Besides using my new found fave foundation from Dior as a base which hydrates my skin, I either use my 24/7 Urban Decay Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Kohl but my backup is also Sephora's kohl pencil as I like having a powerful black eye. With eyeshadow, you can't go wrong with Givenchy which has a number of fun hues that you can wear alone or can pair with one another to make a fabulous smoky eye. I believe you can't look amazing without bronzer - it doesn't matter what the temperature is, it's a necessity and gives you that natural glow so Lancome's compact is a great one although I love using a number of them but tend to stick to Laura Geller's Baked versions. Lips in a natural hue always look stunning and refreshed and Guerlain has a number of lipglosses that are a must. I have been known to mix 2 - 3 glosses together to create my signature hue! Dior's mascara is a must for me and whether I mix it in a cocktail (meaning placing other mascaras in if it's a huge night out or a shoot) or alone, my lashes would not leave the house for a night out without it! Finally, stay fresh with Coach's rollerball which comes in a duo scent and has my favorite half - Poppy!
I love this time of year! Tons of events and so many more reasons than normal to get snazzy for fun evenings out. I'm loving this Bailey 44 ruched dress that is perfect for the season. This dress on its own is phenomenal for holiday parties, New Year's Eve events and so much fun. But it definitely looks amazing when you pair it with a number of goodies that will allow you to stand out! I adore Le Vian for its strawberry gold with various diamonds. In your hand, this envelope clutch by Emily Cho who has amazing exotic leather prints. I'm a huge fan of Dara Ettinger and her Hayden Stone Cuff has a phenomenal hammering on the arm with a fab natural crystallized stone. Complete the look with Jimmy Choo's Kevan's Feather Trim Gladiator Sandal which is a niced caged sandal with the pops of color in the feathers.
It's another day closer to one of my favorite weeks of the year, NYFW! As I sit thinking about a number of my fave shows, they're even more amazing when you have amazing looks to rock. I'm a huge fan of Roberto Cavalli and this particular piece is perfect for easy peasy days when I'm watching my favorite shows and then heading off to appearances. Because his designs are always super colorful, you can pop in accessories. I love Emily Armenta's ring which incorporates a bit of the hue of the dress while standing alone. The gold leaf cuff from Catherine Weitzman has a nice natural look to it that sits gracefully on your arm. Finally, the clutch from Serpui Marie checkerboard shell is a gorgeous way to enhance the overall look!
Although NYC has a bit of weather confusion, at least we know that we're not in the midst of chill temperatures! With that said, when it gets hotter, I'm all about keeping the apparel simple and really focusing on fab accessories. I'm a huge fan of T by Alexander Wang due to its simplicity and this striped ruched dress would be just as cute with a pair of amazing sandals but perhaps you're on your way to dinner at Serafina's followed by drinks and since you have no idea how big the group will be and you want to impress your hunnie, these accessories (whether you choose all or some) will be phenom for you anytime night out!
You know that I'm a huge fan of Virgins, Saints and Angels. Recently during California Market, they released their tribal collection which I am a huge fan of! Normally, we don't (nor do I wear) talk about earrings; however, with something this phenomenal I would definitely include it within my wardrobe. I also love Anndra Neen's Snowflake Necklace which is such a simple and yet chicly wild component to add this look without fighting the gold in the earrings. I'm always about keeping it natural which Dara Ettinger McKenzie's ring does and has a little rock glam with the double finger! I love that it's a natural stone with a little amethyst for pop. Of course, continue to keep it neutral with Nicholas Kirkwood's shoe boots which are two toned, have the double platform heel and can be rocked in all seasons which is phenomenal!
Makeup is an essential for me. I love a natural look but when it comes to Fashion Week, you definitely appreciate the fab makeup artists. Not only is application important but what it is made of as well! Fusion of Color is an amazing makeup line that is not only mineral based but has natural healing properties - now that's just the perfect combination! The line ensures that when you apply it, you're skin won't be irritated and you'll have that flawless radiant look that everyone wants to have! Whether you're looking to try new colors or you're in the mood to add to your ever growing collection, you'll absolutely love having this in your cosmetic case!
Trying something new is always a lot of fun but being able to have a little incentive is even better! Enjoy 15% off your purchases throughout NY Fashion Week as it runs through Sept 16th! Just use the code NYFW in the coupon box when you're ready to check out!
I live for the simple maxi dress to pair with accessories. Me, the girl who ran from gold has found a happy medium between my sterling silver looks and embracing another look. I've started to truly love that antiqued look of gold. There is something about the aged look that definitely makes me feel that I'm dressed but not too bright with the bold gold that I love on others but not myself (not to say that I don't have a little gold every now and then). Today, I present great ways to enjoy a sunny yellow dress (I live in Victoria's Secret 24/7) and to compliment it with Michael Kors sandals, Alkemie's Sting Ray Cuff and Alexis Bittar's pendant which is a perfect playful mix of hues that go from neutrals to bronze. It's a great way to wear a little bling while looking totally natural! We haven't left the summer yet so make sure you check out these great pieces and mroe!
I love large jewelry pieces and these rings above are perfect as they are a nice summer compliment to your outfits while also being totally natural. I have large shell ring that I wear and it's always something that starts a conversation. They're not heavy and they are casual/glam at the same time. If you have been thinking about them, then now is the time to pick one up! Take some time to check out the above pieces and as always the above links can be clicked on!
I love that the idea of baby wipes isn't just for those adorable bundles of joy! Jamar Labs not only wants to make sure that you're clean but that it's safe for you as well! This means that you don't have to worry about parabens on the 100% cotton sheets that are completely natural. These wipes come in three packs that are specifically for your hands, feet or face! We all know that it's nice to have your hands cleaned and we're used to wiping our face. But I have to say that I truly love the fact that they had wipes for your feet! I love wearing flip flops but the icky streets in NYC makes you get various grime and don't even think about jumping into bed without cleaning them off! During a Lobster Boil party at my house last weekend, my sister's dog took a walk outside. Since it had been raining on and off, she wanted to make sure that Jimmy Choo wasn't tracking grit from outside on our wood floors. I don't think that Jamar Labs intended for these wipes to be used for a Yorkie's feet; however, it was perfect and he loved it!Take some time to buy your packs at JamarLabs.com!
Today I am doing a lot of work on what Kitten Lounge will be like for Jan 1st and also reworking Kitten Couture (of course when I work on those, I also think about Sikara Designs Group and some of the other sites I have as well)! Kitten Couture is my lariat line of jewelry that includes natural stones and seashells! So there will be some minor dust this weekend and I suppose resolutions will be made from a business stand point! With that said this is the current collection of Kitten Couture so enjoy and I love hearing feedback!
Just the other day (actually the day I went to visit Beam Laser Spa on the UWS), I realized that West Elm was coming into that neighborhood. Typically when I go there I have always gone to the one in Chelsea. Once I saw the announcement regarding the opening, I realized that it had been awhile since I had seen their post. So today, I have a nice gallery of West Elm who has always had a natural vibe. Enjoy these images and think of how you will add a little natural love into your home whether it's in the bedroom, living room or much more.
Every now and then I like to share what I am working on. Besides putting together content for my blogs and doing PR, I also like to share about info regarding my jewelry line, Kitten Couture. I have to say that wearing it during Fashion Week, I was actually able to get a few orders from people that I just completed. It's nice to know that these lariats made of natural stone and seashell pieces are creating excitement. This summer, I included one of my pieces - Aeryn within the goodie bag of Renee Zellweger's new movie 'My One and Only" out next spring. To know that such notables as Ms Z, Chris Noth, Kevin Bacon and more received these pieces is great! This season I created additional pieces to round out the fall collection and have a few more that will be out this season. In fact, I am currently putting together a fall/resort photoshoot and can't wait to share this with all of you (of course this means new pieces as well). Take some time to check out some fab pieces from Kitten Lounge!
I am a huge fan of the purses that are available at Ports 1961! I love their clutches and how they merge leathers and wooden materials together! There is something very natural about their pieces, In today's gallery, I have combined a few pieces from their Spring 08 line and with their Fall/Winter line. You'll always look put together with their pieces and no one will be able to stop chatting about how amazing you look with their clutches!
I love the idea of presenting so many "citrus" oriented items to all of you. This citrus is more of an ode to grapefruit but is definitely something that I think is super cute with many of the flirty tops and dresses that we will be wearing as we head towards summer. These little leather clutches by Rebecca Norman are hand sewn and have this beautiful agate embellishment on each piece. If this pinkish/brown agate is not you, there are other embellishments that you will enjoy. I love this sense of natural bling and feel that this will look amazing with many of your denim looks and super cute heels. Check out more pieces from this designer to see what else you can expand within your closet!
