I hope everyone had fun partying it up yesterday no matter what you were celebrating! With all of the warm fuzzies that come with so much going on, it's all about looking fabulous for brunch with a large pair of sunglasses. With that said DVF was our inspiration as this fabulous one shoulder dress is the perfect item to wear to be out and about on a Sunday. I'm loving the Moritz pendant lamp at Neiman Marcus which is perfect with your living space. Make the living room even nicer with this fun Mathilde Sofa at Anthropologie which adds a fab bit of character to your room. I'm loving this fabulous stool available at CB2 which adds color, can be spare seating and more. Finally, the canisters that we love to hold bits and baubles are from Kohl's which is another way of bringing in this fab and vibrant hue!
Over the past month, Kitten Lounge has been reviewing Lucille Roberts and our biggest take away is that in addition to the wide selection of classes and a number of locations throughout NYC (check your area to see where one is in your city) - I love the fact that they have trainers and it has definitely helped me even when I am not working out at this gym! It's great to build a relationship with the person who works with you as well as to let you think about what you want to target everytime you meet with one another. Later this week, I also had the opportunity to do Fuse Pilates (more on this later in the week). When I'm working out, I always think about what outfits and events will I be going to and what do I need to work out. When it comes to summer, I'm all about my arms, fab legs and of course great upper and lower abs!
With that in mind, I present a fun look that I'll be rocking in a few weeks for an event that I am hosting! I am obsessed with Halston Heritage as they always get it right. I love the chic, flirty and girly look of this dress. But, I love dressing things up and putting a little edge on it for sure. This dress seriously focuses on your arms and begs for a fab pair of legs. Pair this with fab heel-less shoes from Giuseppe Zanotti which of course means that you need rocking leggings. When it comes to the arms, adorn them - these cuffs by Maison Martin Margiela which brings out your inner Wonder Woman! Slip on one of my fave designers, Sevan Bicakci and top it off with this cork handbag by Kara Ross!
I'm such a fan of Kelly Osbourne! She's the perfect mix of sweet and feisty and I love seeing her on E!'s Fashion Police. I also love that Kelly takes care of herself and always shows a number of looks that are on point with the season's trends as well as (more importantly) being true to her own style aesthetic. I love the look she's rocking for Nickelodeon's Kid's Choice Awards this past weekend. You can recreate this fun look by wearing Stella McCartney Ruffled One Shoulder Cotton Blend Dress which is super chic and very easy to wear. Pair this with Giuseppe Zanotti's hot pink pump. I would have also added in (as this is a fun show) this fabulous Mesi Jilly Cowrie Shell and Onyx ring with Kara Ross's Cuff which adds some symmetry to the overall look.
There are days where I love glamming it up in black! There is somethign about this that makes everyone look amazing. I'd start off with this gorgeous dress that is very whimsical by Lela Rose in tulle and silk. Pair this with fabulous Versace heels with a double platform peep toe! With the one shoulder effect of this dress, you only need a simple Mikimoto Diamond and Black South Sea Cultured Pearl Necklace which is simple but stunning. I've always been a fan of Kir Jewelry as I love their antiqued and modern look! This cocktail ring has a fabulous Mother of Pearl etched stone which adds depth to the overall look. Wearing this look means that an updo is definitely something that will enhance this chic look so that everyone can see your Phillips Frankel Diamond and Black Mother of Pearl Earrings. Finally, pop in a hue with this oversized envelope clutch by Valextra which is a fab blue/grey hue. For the modern day fairytale look, this is definitely one that you'll want to embrace.
Just because we're in the holiday season doesn't mean that you have to don the typical red, green or velvet. I have to say that it's nice to add other elements into your holiday wardrobe as well that work with a number of seasons! I am in love with JB by Julie Brown and since I have met her a few times, the one shoulder dress is such an essential and is perfect when you want to show a lot of leg. Since this has butterflies, I love to keep the rest of the look simple with Carlos Falchi's python clutch. I love this T-Strap peep toe heel from Guiseppe Zanotti. Add on the glitz by embracing rose gold such as Roberto Coin's bangle cuff which is decadent, Paige Novick's double circle oval earrings and Ileana Makri's sapphire blue pave ring which makes the look absolutely fun and glitzy!
Whether you're making plans to walk down the aisle or you're getting knee deep into pre-holiday planning, you have to have cute cocktail dresses to get you there! I'm loving that this look is perfect when you and your bridesmaids or maid of honor are going out or if you're planning on what to wear for your corporate events after work. The simplicity of the look with the one shoulder, ruched VPL dress and this fab neutral color allows you to play with fun accessories whether you keep it neutral or decide to rock it out! I'm loving, Charles Krypell's Topaz ring as I am a big believer that everyone should have this gem within their closet. Kara Ross adds some edge to this classic look with her Arrow necklace which has a pop of sparkle to give it a pop of something special and I am a huge believer in these Vince Camuto heels as I own this pair and it ties together whatever look I happen to have at the moment!
As you're reading this, I'm prepping in the studios of HSN to share with you fab style that's perfect for summer transitions and fall a la Sebago! If you're up check me out at 7am as well as again on 11am today! Then tune in tomorrow at 5am to see me again! While I am here in Tampa/St Petersburg/Clearwater, I am fully focused on New York Fashion Week as well! There are so many fun looks that I can't wait to wear at the shows, after parties and other appearances that are going on! I am OBSESSED with Cut25 by Yigal Azrouel. This short dress has all my fave finds combined into one - it's grey, ruched dress and a one shoulder effect. This look is completed with other fun shades of grey! Sethi Couture has a phenomenal diamond moonstone ring which is the perfect one to wear when you're out and about. Pair this up with Giuseppe Zanotti as I am a huge fan of these python peep toe pumps (having this in black and grey is an essential). Finish it off with a fab bracelet by Alexander McQueen and Jimmy Choo Candy Clutch which is such a must as it will look phenom with everything!
Yesterday we talked about shapewear being looked at in a new way. When I thought about shapewear a few years ago, I thought about under clothing that ensured that you looked great in your clothing but I never thought about it in terms of having a sex factor. The fact of the matter is that many times when you're wearing your shapewear, you also want to make sure that when you step out of that fab dress, if you're still in an "all eyes on me" situation, you still look amazing! When you're visiting Spanx's site, you realize that they not only have the typical slips that come to mind but they have strapless, one shoulder, tops, bathing suits and so much more! I can't believe how much they have thought about women to provide function, options and a sexy appeal!
Last weekend, Spanx had an amazing Booty Bus that rolled into town gifting and getting such celebs as Rachel Zoe (looking fab and did you know that they have shapewear for mommies to be too) and her hubby Roger at their suite. Celebs were educated and gifted but anyone who knows that they need to be slimmed whether it's something that you always do or only as needed when you're not feeling/looking 100% know that Spanx does what it does well. At Kitten Lounge, we had to take it to the next level for situations that you may have another set of intimate eyes on you. This strapless Spanx ensemble is perfect to pair with your favorite peep toe Louboutins as well as a fab necklace to complete the look.
When it comes to my apparel, I am a huge fan of Grey. I think it's one of those colors that are calming and cool. It works regardless of the season and I can never have enough of it! In addition, when it comes to metals I love sterling silver and gunmetal. The whole gunmetal concept allows me to create a weathered look that is still chic. Right now (and for awhile to be honest) the whole motorcycle babe meets classically refined is huge. So I love that these shoes and this cuff are absolutely perfect to pair with this Grecian inspired dress that is very whimsical. I love combining items that are on opposites sides of the fashion spectrum. Because there is so much grey and metal going on, I wanted to add a pop of color. I have been a fan of Carlos Falchi for a number of years and back when I was writing for See Pretty Things, he was one of the first 3 posts that hit the site as I had the chance to interview him at his office and to see his bags come together since they are done by hand. This clutch is gorgeous with the snakeskin combined with the henna that is on the bag. Together, this look is one that people will notice when you cross a red carpet, go out with the girls and more! Never be afraid to be monochromatic or to pop in a color that you think doesn't go - fashion is all about play!
