I love shopping but I love it more when it's online! There is something about getting an email about new items and spending hours looking for what you want most. Shopbop has become one of my favorite sites and I love clicking on their "What's New" tab. Although they had quite a bit of items, I wanted to share some of the things on my list from Juicy Couture, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tibi, Twelfth by Cynthia Vincent and so much more. It's all about pops of color, great lengths and just getting out of the winter blues that we have been stuck in to embrace all that's good about great weather and rising temperatures!
This holiday season you have to think smart. I don't think there is anyone that can believe that it's the holiday season or the end of the year! Whether you're time crunched, funds light or anything else, you have to think about looking great and/or how you will gift for others. On my list I have people that I've known for ages, family, colleauges, etc. But then I know that you hit those situations where a gift is needed but I may not be as familiar as I would prefer. I really don't care for giving gift certificates as I feel it's a quick way out of a purchase that should take some thought (not to say that I haven't used it). I like the gift set because it gives variety. The person may not like everyting that's in there but they stand a chance of like something and they can always give portions of it away! It's a gift that keeps on giving. All of these sets are under $30 and are perfect for stocking stuffers, Secret Santas and more! As you know if you have been reading the Holiday Gift Guide, I am obsessed with Velvet Rope by Urban Decay. I will never wear another brand of eyeliner without a doubt! I think that Dylan's Candy definitely did the fab jump from candy to embracing a beauty line! Gloss is always a nice option and this Lancome line spices it up with the fishnet theme and when it comes to my eyes, I love multiple shades of eyeshadow! Not only can you give love to others but this doesn't stop you from snagging some great finds. Check out what Sephora has to offer whether you do so at your local shop or online!
Last night was a crazy night! I was on Pop17 with Sarah Austin, a lifecaster who I find funny and love that she responds pretty quick to email (PS if it wasn't for @JuliaRoy, I would not have known about her and been on the show - you have to love Twitter)! Pop17 is a super cute show that looks at internet celebrity, issues and more. I was able to meet Famous Andrew who you should all follow on Twitter (FamousAndrew). Currently, he is a student at Parsons and is taking a course there about being famous on the Internet. He generates suggestions from those who visit his site and then he does various videos. Last week he pretended to be a banker that was affected by the current economical environment. You definitely should check out his videos since they are not only amusing but it helps him get a great grade for his course.
As a guest, I shared how Internet Celebrity works in terms of Fashion. Sarah made a great point that Paris Hilton became famous by appearing on the red carpet and I gave some examples of people that I know! Although this video is about 27 minutes, I am towards the end of this video and I give shout outs to Natali del Conte of Cnet's Loaded, Sarah Conley of Style It and Kiki Kannibal. Of course we chat about my sites and interests as well. I love being a guest and sharing how the internet and fashion work so well so enjoy!
Of course, not only was I running to get to Mogulus Studios to get to the interview, but I also ran from there to go to the Clearisil presentation at Bowlmor Lanes to look at new products that will launch in March. I will definitely do a special post on this later on today but let me just say that it was amazing and worth being out of breath to get there in order to enjoy great nibbles, a few beers and to see the products up close (a little teaser: I can always tell when a pimple is starting and now I have something that can fit in any bag that will stop it! Absolute love!!). More on this later on today as I am super tired and wanted to get you guys an early post to enjoy for the nightowls this Friday!
I am so excited to share with you guys the Village and it also has a site that's online where you can order their yummie peanut butter. The Peanut Butter Co is known for their sandwiches that have a variety of flavors within their spreads. Peanut Butter is not only something enjoyed by children but by adults alike! Enjoy such sandwiches as the Fluffernutter, Peanut Butter Cup (this has Nutella and their freshly
ground peanut butter), Peanut Butter Club (including
two layers of peanut butter and two layers of jelly between three layers of bread) and more. If you're not interested in having one of their amazing peanut butter sandwiches, you will be able to enjoy salads and much more.
As stated before, there is also a site where you can enjoy a variety of flavors. Recently, I purchased Dark Chocolate Dreams which is a mix of peanut butter and dark chocolate! I was so excited to get this as I wanted to taste this. I have enjoyed this on mini pita breads as a great snack! There is also a peanut butter called Bees Knees which has honey in it. They are definitely creative and at least you can enjoy this nutritious food by ordering online if you're not in the city. With so many options, you're bound to find something tasty.
Peanut Butter & Co is so pleased to let you know more about their amazing brand, that they have provided a variety of jars of their rich and healthy product for 4 winners in our giveaway! Begin posting to this post and by Fri at noon on 06.04.08! I look forward to seeing your recipes, ideas and more!
My entire department is not decked out in Ikea; however, there are certain elements that I am a fan of. This table top with legs isapart o f the Vika collection. My favorite element of this table top is the clear glass! This so essential for me as a designer when I am tracing. I can place light under the glass and trace my items easily. There is a bit of a ledge across the top that you can use to keep your utensils and other instruments in their place and still accessible! This table is perfect since it can remain flat;moreover, you can also tilt and adjust this as necessary. Growing up, I had a drafting table and this is something that could come in handy for architects and designers alike. The wooden legs are perfect for extra storage as well. What a great way to add this in to your home office!
When I was in college, I had one of my favorite stores just down the street from me. Pitaya was based in my hometown of Indianapolis and I was fortunate to have one near my campus at Indiana University in Bloomington. I loved that every Tuesday, I would drop by to find a variety of items that were perfect to wear to class or to go out in. There was something about this cute shop that had a variety of pieces that you didn't see everywhere. The staff was very trendy and stylish and I was pleased (once I left) to know that I coudl still purchase great pieces via their online store. Now, Pitaya is my online source for finding great pieces that serve as basics to my wardrobe. I love that there are a variety of colors and styles to choose from that can be paired with jeans, leggings and more. Take a moment to check out great items such as this cowl neck piece that could very well be worn to your next event.
When it comes to shopping, a deal makes you want to buy more. When you get one, you want to pass it on. I love signing up for emails to be in the know; however, these days it seems like you need an email account to stay on top of all your favorite stores. Then again, you may want to have one source where you can click into your faves. Check out Retail Me Not! They will let you know about all the online sites that are currently running discounts. This is an absolute must to bookmark and you can finally have a one stop approach to getting your shopping done. Take this down and pass it around while you build your closets and shop for others!
We love hearing from you! Suggestions, ideas and thoughts are always welcome.
Please send all food related questions to Paul, spa and wellness items to Keren and all other queries to Kimmie.
