I am such a fan of olive as it's perfect year around but as we get closer to fall, I embrace this hue even more! Today's look is inspired by a very large love of mine pony hair and python! I'm loving these Givenchy Camel Suede Pony Hair platform pumps. Because I love a bit of that monotone look, how about these Utzon Natural leather leggings which are super slimming on your legs. I had to pair this with the Nancy Gonzalez Tassel Dome Bag which is such a great color and perfect for the change in seasons. Include this Givenchy draped top which is perfect for going out and brunching. I love that you can pair this with a fabulous necklace from Becky Kelso with an olive pendant. To continue bringing in these neutrals, I love this Coralia Leets bracelet and I like how it is balanced with Jamie Joseph quartz ring which is hand faceted and with diamonds. Finally, accessorize with your polish by including this olive/gold hue from Butter London and is known as Wallis!
I am all about running around and getting my day to day tasks taken care of - even in this heat! Sometimes it's not an option to put it off or to hope for rain so you just have to think smarter and lighter!. I'm obsessed with this Malene Birger style as I was obsessed with it when I saw it in black and white and now that I see it in this washed out yellow - kismet! Bottega Veneta has a fabulous cowry shell pendant necklace on a silver chain as well as python wedge sandals. Because I love mixing textures as well as metals, I love this Roberto Coin diamond bracelet that has silver, gold and rose gold - decadent. I would also pair this with Nicky Hilton's quartz ring which is a nice pop. Finally, I'm OBSESSED with Jimmy Choo's leopard print calf hair bag! I love that their bags also come with a cuff that can be an accessory to your bag or one that you can slip on your wrist!
I love a weekend prior to a holiday! In my case, the weekend prior to a holiday means that I can get odds and ends done prior to the 4th and my upcoming travel! It's all about the perfect pot of tea (whether I sip it in the morning, chill it or add a little champagne to it) which starts off with my Breville. I'm loving Kusmi Tea especially in Detox which is a great way to kick off the day. Since this weekend is bound to be gorgeous, I want to be ready for anything whether it's a lunch or a night out so slip on this Missoni jumpsuit which reminds me of candy and all the sweetness that a weekend is meant to have. Pair this with Gerard Yosca with this fab necklace and pendant. Slip on Zariin Jewelry's Green Agate Gold. Round out the look with Givenchy and this large leather bag as it's perfect to store items that you shop for when you're out and about. Finally clad your feet in Prada to make your weekend perfection!
Today I did a fun photoshoot and rocked one of my new fave colors from ButterLondon, Chimney Sweep - a smoldering grey color with a bit of shimmer in it. I love all kinds of grey hues and this was super inspirational for today's look! I'm OBSESSED with maxi skirts and love this one by Tart which has stripes but I love that they are a little all over the place to give it a fun look. Keep it simple with a white tank from Anthropologie which is made of yarn and will keep you easy peesy breezy when you're running around!. Rock these gladiator sandals from Jimmy Choo and slip on this python gem ring by Ted Rossi! Finally, I'm loving this must have Max & Chloe. This is such a fab look and one that is perfect for a number of your summers!
Whew what a busy week, I've been running back and forth between a number of appointments. Now that I have a new laptop thanks to my Sugar platform, I'm rocking a 17" in screen again. This means, it has to be accessorized. As many of you know, I'm a Brahmin fan and this laptop case is FABULOUS! True to the colors of the season, I am loving the shrimp/coral hue that it's available in (although they have brown and black as well). When I am meeting with my brands, I love having a fun dress that looks amazing but also keeps me comfortable. I love this kimono dress by Issa which is the perfect compliment to Spring. Place this Paige Novick pendant with this dress as it picks up the hue of the laptop case. Citrine by the Stones has a fun small wire intertwined bangle which looks fab with the sleeves of this dress. Finally, I love rings! I like the concept of mixed metals as there is no rule stating that you can only wear all gold or all silver. They are neutrals and can be interchangeable. Melissa Joy Manning has a cute set of alphabet rings and that's a fun piece to include in the look. For the pop of color, I'm all about Nam Cho's Bulls Eye Ring! This is a fab look whether you're at the office, doing a TV segment or meeting friends after work/on the weekend!
I'm in holiday mode for sure! I have a number of fab outfits lined up that will keep me looking festive for items that are planned (like tonight's fun event at the Irish Consulate) or those that just pop up but you know that you have to make room in your day/evening to attend! It's all about color that rich and that which is subtle coming together in this fun magenta look that was created. Now I am not really someone that gravitates towards these hues; however, Paul loves me in this color which I will be wearing tonight!
I start off with Ramy Brook's dress that's easy to wear but definitely has a bit of a holiday vibe but can carry over to all seasons regardless. For me the color is definitely one that will play well against my skin so I want to get accessories that cool it down a bit so that my dress is what you see coming and going! This pendant from Miguel Ases has Mother of Pearl and as one of my fave designers, I love how he mixes his metals so that this piece is yet another great carryover. You can never go wrong with Kara Ross and I believe that my rings always have to have a lot of pop so this geometric ring is a lot of fun and who doesn't love white sapphires? Round this out with Carlos Falchi's hibiscus clutch which brings in the nude tones that we have been weaving into the look as well as providing visual texture with the pattern. Slip on Vince Camuto's Jamma shoe which is studded (you will find the need to rock this out in a number of colors as it is a great staple) so it adds the perfect amount of femme edge!
Yesterday I shared one of my fave looks to rock as you think about what you can wear for Thanksgiving. Today, it's all about that rustic boho chic vintagesque vibe that's fun to wear. Start off with basics such as jeggings from Seven For All Mankind and pair it with a Balmain tank which has the perfect amount of distressed detailing. Top it all off with this fabulous boucle Givenchy cardigan. Pair it with Yves Saint Laurent pendant which brings in natural qualities to the overall look. This cocktail ring by Dara Ettinger has a fab mix of clustered citrine and gold which is perfect as you're talking turkey. Finally, pop on Koolaburra's Veleta which has fab fringe detail which is perfect footwear conversation!
Navy is such a staple color that you may feel confused on how to dress it up. With the in between weather that we are experiencing, I thought it would be best to look at how you can rock this shade in a comfy way as well as being able to work well within your lifestyle! First it's all about the leggings, I love these grey Helmut Lang as it's stretch and jersey which allows your legs to look phenomenal. Pair this up with this fab navy Schumacher blouse which has just enough to detail where you can wear it out for a fun night out while also having it on when you're running errands, doing meetings and more! Finish off the overall look off with these fabulous Gianmarco Lorenzi suede boots! I love that it has a bit of that military embellishment which is a nice detail that you can show off with each step.
When it comes to adding a bit more bling, I love Michael Kors' rose gold watch that has a navy face. Ellen Himic's pendant smoky quartz necklace is the perfect piece that will make your blouse look fab. Finally, I'm all about rings and love this Charlotte Bjorlin D'Elia quartz ring is known as the beast ring as I love its claw like appearance.
When you work from home, you get to dress as you wish. There are times when you're home and you know people may be popping in and out or you simply want to look luxe from home. There's nothing wrong with blushing from home. Start off by staying comfy by rocking Elizabeth and James kimono which is so cute and sexy as well. Pair this with a fab pair of heels from Gucci as they're hand stitched and fabulous. Now blush it to a whole other level with a number of fab accessories, I'm OBSESSED with this Effy Collection ring which has rose gold and diamonds within it - love the etching! If you need to know the time, make sure you rock this fab watch which has the perfect amount of bling. Judith Jack rocks rose gold as well as marcasite in this fab necklace pendant. I have been a huge fan of them ever since I attended an Accessories Council event. Finally I love this bracelet from Carolina Bucci which is a super cute cuff. Together, everything makes you look super regal and happy and of course - ready for work!
Accessories Expert/Stylist Q&A: What's a great way to tone down a look that shows a bit more skin via accessories?
There are a number of ways that you can go with this look! I love rocking low cut tees or blazers as jackets. This can be done regardless of the time of day. This question is definitely more important when you're thinking of showing a bit more skin when you're still going to work or running around in the day or even if you're wearing this at night and don't want to feel so exposed. First, make sure you try the outfit on at home and ensure that no matter how you stand, sit etc that you are not bordering on wardrobe malfunctions and that you have the appropriate support to keep all your items permanently affixed (Hollywood Tape is your friend). Mommie to be and all around "girl who is running the world", Beyonce rocked the launch of yet another season of her House of Dereon created by her and her mom, Tina Knowles.
I love that in principle, this look is super easy and comfortable and is flattering to so many body types bu it's perfection when it comes to running around. You can never go wrong with a cardi/jacket that is slightly oversized with a pair of leggings and of course, I love the fact that it's all about glitz. Keeping that monotone look is fab when it comes to rocking some fun accessories. Mixed Media is on trend this season (as it has been for the past few). This is when you rock a number of metals together which creates an edgy look that has more depth. Beyonce is rocking a chain linked necklace that embodies gold and silver and although it does sit high on her neck, I love that there are irregular and longer pieces that eat up space where her skin is exposed - so she's not so bare and totally appropriate! With all the glitz she's rocking, I'm loving her bracelet that has a great gold tone and appears to be either stacked or a slimmer cuff.
If you're rocking a lower cute v-neck tee, low blazer etc you can add this same aesthetic by a number of fun necklaces just like Bey! Available on Bluefly, Rich in Friendship has a phenom friendship necklace that will lay nicely along the collar bone and create depth around your neck while being playful with the mix of metals. Coralia Leets has a fun dual pendant set that uses fun precious stones that have a pop of gold around them. You can even layer fun charms on top of this of various lengths to create additional depth! Finally Lara Bohinc, although it's in one tone" is perfect for the girl that loves to embrace her symmetry but still have amazing pop factor without playing with how the necklace lays. I love the knot and how this is definitely a conversation piece! Finally, Gorjana has a bar bracelet in a gold tone (much like what Beyonce is wearing) that can be worn alone or you can obtain a few of these and stack them for an effortless look!
Whether you're rocking the runway, aisles at work or your well traveled sidewalk - this look can be owned by you totally and worn with a number of key looks as we transition into fall!
I'm all about neutral tones and love rocking black and grey together as it's the cutest and chicest way to rock a style! I am a huge fan of boyfriend cardigans and lived in them last fall which means that they will be perfect for this season as well - Lola has the cutest one that has nice details. Pair this with a simple James Perse tee who has amazing soft and simple tees that are perfect to build your wardrobe. True Religion has a fab pair of grey super skinny leggings which are perfect for the season. Top it all off with Brian Atwood's suede and ostrich feather ankle boots are the perfect way to complete your outfit while also adding a sassy look to the most casual of looks. Finally, I'm obsessed with Monique Pean's pendant which is a nice casual touch to your look whether you're off having lunch, picking up goodies or going out for the night.
Earlier this week I worked with a fabulous client who was looking for the best look that screamed Hamptons but was appropriate for a housewarming here in the city which has a roofdeck! Today's look is a version of the look that was created for her! I'm all about kaftans as there are so many options and they are my "must haves" for Summer 2011. TopShop has a fab serene blue that can be worn as a cover up over your fave bikini or paired with a cute tank top so that it is worn as a dress. If you feel that it is a little short, you can pair cute shorts and on cooler nights, how about a pair of leggings? Because the kaftan is the perfect mix of casual and dressy, it begs to be paired with fun accessories. I'm loving the fun peacock elements of jewelry with House of Harlow's peacock locket pendant and Free People's ring as well. In addition, everything can be evened out by popping in fun nude/blush tones. Love, love, love the fact that Jimmy Choo's clutch is the perfect item to pair with Alejandro Ingelmo's woven platform wedge pumps (I am obsessed with this designer and have been since Sept Fashion Week last year when he was on a Harper's Bazaar panel focusing on accessories) which are phenomenal. Regardless of how leggy you are, this is a great look and as always, I'm so happy to get pictures from my fab clients when they're set to have a fab night out (hopefully she remembers the fab gift she's supposed to bring and will enjoy dancing the night away with friends).
I live for the simple maxi dress to pair with accessories. Me, the girl who ran from gold has found a happy medium between my sterling silver looks and embracing another look. I've started to truly love that antiqued look of gold. There is something about the aged look that definitely makes me feel that I'm dressed but not too bright with the bold gold that I love on others but not myself (not to say that I don't have a little gold every now and then). Today, I present great ways to enjoy a sunny yellow dress (I live in Victoria's Secret 24/7) and to compliment it with Michael Kors sandals, Alkemie's Sting Ray Cuff and Alexis Bittar's pendant which is a perfect playful mix of hues that go from neutrals to bronze. It's a great way to wear a little bling while looking totally natural! We haven't left the summer yet so make sure you check out these great pieces and mroe!
I love when you're wearing something great and you feel it. At the same time, I love when you wear something and you know that it benefits so many and lets you take a stand for those that need guidance and understanding.
