Whether I'm heading to the airport for business or fun or simply am going to a wedding for the weekend, I find that up until the last minute, I use every second to continue tweaking my beauty look. Rarely do I land or arrive and head to the hotel to rest - I may have enough time to do a super quick spruce and I'm on a series of agendas! With that said, my carry on bag always has some last minute items that I can do that works while I focus on something else OR I can do it while I am in the car service, on the train, in the cab or am on the runway. I love large roomy bags with pockets so all my tech, items to pass the time away and more can fit so this bag by Lauren by Ralph Lauren is perfect! When I travel I have to be comfy (no restricting clothes) but also ensuring that the AC doesn't get too crazy so the dress by Malene Birger is such a great find and can be dressed up and down for 90% of the things that I need to do when I hit the ground running.
People always comment on my super white smile and it looks that amazing because I use Crest 3D White Professional Effects Whitestrips which provides professional level whitening in the comfort of your home; moreover, when I use it with Crest 3D White Vivid Toothpaste I'm ensuring that my smile is protected. So no matter how much fun I am going to have in the last weekends of summer this is apart of my daily routine and I like whitening knowing that I can still talk on the phone, sip something etc and the strips are at work. Of course, many of you know that I am a Brand Ambassador for this product but you've all seen me on HSN, spontaneous photoshoots at events and my shoots with major magazines and although I receive the product courtesy of the brand, my pearly whites are definitely a testament to the time investment of using them! My lips are another huge thing - a fab smile has to meet lush lips and ever since my Dior Beauty event I hosted this past summer, you can't find me without my Lip Maximizer (which plumps them) and my Lip Glow (which gives them a lush look and a slight tint that my body naturally creates) both by Dior and yes I am addicted!
Ever since last week, I have been loving Caudalie's Beauty Elixir which can be used after you wash your face or even when you are fully made up. It's travel friendly AND I love how refreshed I feel when I spray it on my face. It's a soothing mini spa that is always at the ready. Finally, I think carrying wipes are a must especially when the temperatures spike - you always want to feel clean so having Ole Henriksen's Truth to Go will ensure that you're fresh, dewy and dry! These have been my basic go to's whether it's been over the past year or within the past few weeks and as always, I have more items that I love bringing with me but I love looping you in on my fave things!
This week is super busy with prepping for last minute items that involve my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 11 and Kimmie Smith x Sebago Spring 12 collection (can't believe that they will be on shelves soon and that I will be planning photoshoots for this as well), shooting for an October issue of a major magazine (next week I will shoot the video portion for it), nailing down my Fashion Week Media Lounge for Sept and a number of other odds and ends as August is right around the corner! With that said, I need easy breezy outfits. The ones that keep me cool and allow me to still be super fashionable as I head into meetings. If you guys follow me on Tumblr, you may have seen my color palette for Fall 11 which has blush, grey, black, white, cream etc. It's a soothing palette and one that you will definitely notice when you happen to live in NYC. With all the travel that I do, I love being able to switch it up.
Today is my nude/grey outfit that is super simple, heat friendly and perfect for the pop ins that I'll do throughout the week! I live for leggings and it's a huge part of my fall/winter wardrobe. For the summer, I love having a cropped legging if possible and this pair by Arden B is perfection! I am a Jimmy Choo and a Christian Louboutin girl but when I am doing a lot of popping in and out you will see me in a number of fab brands - loving Pour La Victoire - nude slingbacks are a must! Have some serious neck appeal with Vera Wang's bib necklace and then have the most simple of tops such as this Milo ruched piece!
As many of you know, I moved in with my boyfriend and there's nothing better than a blank canvas to create something fashionable and cozy. I have had nothing but inspiration as I am so excited about doing cocktail parties and dinners. I love playing hostess more than anything and as he is allowing me to have quite a lot of creative freedom, just tack on Interior Designer to my list of "things that I do and rock at". So with Easter coming up in April and in hopes of having a house warming in May, my initial focus is the dining area! The other reality is that you guys know I do quite a bit of photoshoots and vlogging from my home so some of my ideas will actually be posted on this site. Although I have a laundry list of areas to tackle where people eat and what they eat on is so important. I am obsessed with West Elm's Farmer's Table. I grew up eating on something like this with pilgrim benches there is something so historical about it! So seeing the table definitely makes me pleased although I'm so not a red girl when it comes to chairs.
Interestingly enough, I like popping in a little red every now and then and having these pantry napkins - so cute and being a fan of Williams-Sonoma (they have these Southern Style Biscuits that are ridic and I am quite good at making them) they're perfect to complete your meal and to dress it. Many of you know that once upon a time ago, I was the Home Manager at the Anthropologie at Rockefeller Center here in NYC. I am obsessed with their bowls, bedding and a number of their clothes but the Sun Tipped Silverware has a bit of that antiqued gold with a bit of cherry wood which makes any table pop. Finally, we all know that I love DVF, but the fact that I can actually have her in my home when it comes to accent pieces - I'm beyond thrilled and love the natural nature of these napkin rings (I know Bethenny questioned whether her and her husband were napkin people on Bravo's Bethenny's Getting Married, but I can assure you that this is an essential to any home whether it's a nice dinner for two or you're having some people over.
Over the next few months you will see different items that will be coming into our new space and of course you will also see them in pictures and video. Many people wonder how they can upgrade their spaces whether it's in prep for the holiday season or the summer and I'll share with you many of the choices that we're making and where the items come from as everyone like a fashion home decor tip off!
