As many of you know I'm getting a puppy soon and am very excited. There is a lot of work and upkeep with a puppy and it got me to thinking about animals that are homeless who have no one to take care of them when they have medical issues. The Picasso Veterinary Fund ensures that animals who don't have homes can still get the care that they need while they are waiting for a family. Although we are working with a breeder to get our first puppy, we know that our second puppy will definitely come from a shelter. With so many puppies and kitties needing homes and many of them needing care, Kitten Lounge wanted to help in this ongoing effort and to show that other support this as well. Although this fund if apart of the Animal Alliance NYC, check out what your local government is doing to see what you can do to assist!
In this effort, Kitten Lounge is offering space within our sidebar (under the logo of the fund and we are signing people up now for this) and within a new page that will launch in May! The Friends of PVF are those people that also support our interest in assisting this important fund. We want to show that there are various brands that should be recognized for their love of helping others and in exchange, your link will appear in this sidebar as well as having your logo and link placed within a new page so that others know that you're a supporter and they can find out more about you. This lifetime placement is available for $30 (payable via Paypal email@example.com), and a portion of this placement fee will go back to the Picasso Veterinary Fund. It's a cause that I'm very excited about as I want to create awareness and support for them!
A happy puppy is one that is loved and cared for. To me, it’s one who gets tons of hugs, gets to sit with you on his favorite part of the couch and when he’s out and about – it’s always in style. I don’t have a puppy but am getting one very soon. So for now I obsess over one of my very good friend’s and sister’s puppy. Both have Yorkies and yes, I want one as well! Jimmy Choo is over a year and is my sister’s puppy. He has so much life and is a dog that hasn’t figured out he’s a puppy. He just knows that he has a lot of energy and his auntie (that would be me) buys him cute fashionable accessories such as last Christmas when I bought him a braided leather leash from Cole Haan! I wanted him to be that chatter of her local dog park! So when it comes to accessories, I’m a huge fan of Cole Haan. The leathers are superb and I even like this Madras inspired leash as well which is perfect for the summer (oh yes you should have a seasonal leash and then one for special occasions). I also love when puppies have clothes from time to time. I know that this is definitely more for me then the puppy as I don’t think that they’re a fan; however, if you can get them in a photo with something like this Ralph Lauren polo – how cute is that? Of course if you get your boyfriend to wear the same thing – that’s just too cute! Finally, if you want cute things and to stay in the know, you HAVE to check out Sugar Chic Couture – this is a sushi meal fit for a puppy and fully edible with wasabi to top it off! They have quite a bit of goodies and when I finally get my baby he will be Sugar Chic’d out! Check out the great finds and click around to see more about these fab pieces!
Now when it comes to Victoria's Secret, I have to say that the Pink collection is one of my favorites when it comes to lounge wear. My closet has nothing but the little pup on them (just putting it on lets my body know that I'm in lounge mode)! Pink has had various beauty components but its a recent organic line that I just received that has me excited! I received the Soothing Hand Cream which contains organic oat extract and the Soothing Body Lotion which includes organic shea butter! Obviously this collection has much more from body washes, lip balms, etc. But I love the fact that this is a green collection, natural, organic and 100% vegan! I was very excited to try this out and wasn't disappointed at all. I love the packaging as well as it's very simple and yet iconic with Pink logos on it! No animal testing was done within this collection and being a fan of cocoa butter and grape seed oil, this will become a favorite! I love that when applyting the lotions, its easy to administer and it doesn't leave an annoying greasy film on your skin. Your skin feels protected and it's great knowing that it's environmentally sound! Check out the collection for yourself and this will be heading with me on my vacation within a few weeks!
I am definitely obsessed with Yorkie's and making sure that mine will be super cute once I get it. I got a link for Ralph Lauren's pup collection and I am in love. Of course I emailed my sister and said that I would pick her up a cute shirt for Jimmy Choo! I love that they are having a great sale so how could you not? Even if your pup couldn't stand wearing clothing it would make a cute one time picture at the very least. I love that this polo shirt is so cute and could so see my bf wearing a Polo to match with our puppy when we get him. Now, when it comes to my personal favorite that is apart of Ralph's collection (don't you love that we are on a first name basis - or at least I am), I like to think of when the little guy is in the cold when he needs to visit the outside facilities to do his business!
I am a huge fan of grey and I love that I won't have to fight with the sweatshirt to feed his leash through as this has a discreet hole that it can be fed through. This is such a sporty little look and works well with my hoodie and yoga pants! Once again, you should definitely guage whether your puppy would actually like this look but if he does, this would be the cutest thing ever! I am so getting the sweatshirt in hopes that my puppy will enjoy it and if not at least I will have something super cute to look at! I think I enjoy all the details that are put into it the most!
This week's pic of Jimmy Choo is when he was a little smaller but definitely just as spunky now as he was back then! How cute is he - how funny that this was in May and already he looks so different! I think that JC could be a Doggie model he definitely has a little attitude!
It's now Tues and you know it means that we focus on super cute puppy items that are a must for your furry friend. I happened to browse on Dosha Dog and I found a cute set that I would love to provide for my Dog when I finally get him! As you know, I am a jewelry designer of my own line, Kitten Couture and I am a huge fan of Carnelian. So when I saw this Beaded Collar in Carnelian Red Adventure, I knew that this was definitely a very chic site that will ensure that your dog (or even your kitty) will be dresses to perfection! How could your head not turn to see this very elegant and cute piece. Not only is this collar super cute, but so is the leash and note that they have various beads as well so you're bound to find something that you love! Of course when I think of my sister's cute puppy, I think that she would definitely be more of a Turquoise Sodalite girl!
I had to share with you my sister's pup Jimmy Choo! As I was traveling to Lake George this weekend, I saw this pop up on my Blackberry. My sister has had her super cute yorkie since the first weekend in May and he has grown so much! Here he is in a DJ bag (no this is not a special brand but it is actually a bag that my sister's boyfriend uses when he DJ's). Apparently he got in the bag and wasn't sure how to get out. Anyway, little Jimmy Choo is growing up so fast and after spending time with two Westie's this weekend, I can't wait until I get a Yorkie of my own - terriers are so cute!
So it seems like my sister's dog, Jimmy Choo, gets cuter everyday and apparently runs through toys and bags like none other! This is all good stuff to know so that I can start stocking up now for when I get a Yorkie of my own! One of the things she always talks about is how he REALLY loves his toys (thus always buying new ones) and how a carrier is absolutely essential and he grows out of them too. I like to think that a carrier is to a puppy what shoes are to us. When we were growing up we had to keep buying new ones since we kept growing out of them and now we buy new ones for all our moods and just to fit our lifestyle in general! So if we go shopping for our needs, then our puppies have to be outfitted as well without any second thoughts! I am so glad that there are others that share this belief as well and fortunately there is a sample sale coming up for your pooch!
The New York Dog Sample Sale is full of goodies! You can buy one carrier and get one half off, there are cute sweaters starting at $10, beds starting at $10 (Jimmy Choo may need to get one of those soon too) and raincoats starting at $15 as well! You'll find many other goodies and with a whole week ahead, you're bound to fins great items that you can't imagine why you wouldn't have! In addition, what a great way to bond with others while you get some shopping done and finding a great way to beat the heat as well. Make sure you make some room in your closet because you're going on a puppy spree! I love that New York Dog is a fashionable line that's carried in so many boutiques and now you can get a great sale for your pup or for a pup's upcoming birthday.
I have known Katie James, the designer of Katie James online for quite some time and I am always impressed by her designs. Today to kick off Treasure Tuesdays which are puppy oriented, I wanted to share one of her super cute accessories. Named the Chow Chow (after Katie's breed of puppy), this super cute pouch clips on to your leash, pocket or loose keys to allow for easy carrying of your treats. It is also made of pleather which makes it nice for cleaning! I would suggest getting the Chow Chow in the Brown/Pink Eyelet as I love the idea of having something that is apart of a limited edition. If you love this, check out her other fab creations as well!
Ah I love when there are changes to spruce up the site and to bring in a little love! So Treasure Tuesdays have always focused on accessories. Many of you know me from See Pretty Things and that this is a huge passion of mine but I wanted to introduce you to my sister's super cute Yorkie, Jimmy Choo. In honor of him and the fact that my boyfriend and I will also be getting a super cute Yorkie this fall, I will be dedicated the Tuesday segment to accessories for puppies! I think that this is great since many of us have dogs or friends that we practically adopt their cute babies! You guys will be able to see Jimmy Choo on here from time to time (this pic was taken earlier this month and he is already much bigger now at this point - I love seeing him in comparison to the Mets hat - so tiny). I will bring you great items that are perfect for your puppy and will provide reviews for you on how they worked with Jimmy. There will also be footage as well so this is going to be a lot of fun. If you have suggestions and tips, supply them as I will be getting a puppy very soon after we move into our condo!
