I love a weekend prior to a holiday! In my case, the weekend prior to a holiday means that I can get odds and ends done prior to the 4th and my upcoming travel! It's all about the perfect pot of tea (whether I sip it in the morning, chill it or add a little champagne to it) which starts off with my Breville. I'm loving Kusmi Tea especially in Detox which is a great way to kick off the day. Since this weekend is bound to be gorgeous, I want to be ready for anything whether it's a lunch or a night out so slip on this Missoni jumpsuit which reminds me of candy and all the sweetness that a weekend is meant to have. Pair this with Gerard Yosca with this fab necklace and pendant. Slip on Zariin Jewelry's Green Agate Gold. Round out the look with Givenchy and this large leather bag as it's perfect to store items that you shop for when you're out and about. Finally clad your feet in Prada to make your weekend perfection!
I love maxi dresses and this summer I am not only incorporating previous season's of maxi dresses and rompers but it's all about the perfect maxi skirts! In addition, I do love a monotone look with pops of color from my accessories. I love playing with proportion as well so having a slim fit maxi skirt by Malene Birger and with this fab top by CLU. I love that there is ease in the top and together it's a very laid back look (it's a look that will take you from shopping in the city, partying at Coachella and lounging in South Beach. Take it super easy with these fabulous sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti which merges tortoiseshell and a little bling together. Rock a long beaded labrodite Chan Luu necklace which plays with the neutral tones. Stack a few fun python leather bangles together by Ted Rossi (my fave accessory designer and friends of mine) which pairs the tiffany blue color with the natural grey snakeskin. This is such an easy look and with the weather we're having in the city right now.
If you've been watching your favorite programs, you may have noticed that Jennifer Love Hewitt (she plays Riley Parks) is in a new show, The Client List on Lifetime which premiered last night at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood (see images from the party here)! The Client List follows Riley Parks who lives a double life in order to maintain the lifestyle of her and her children that takes place at a her job which appears to be a day spa. Last week there was a red carpet and I'm loving actress Alicia Lagano's (she plays Selena) look as she hit the red carpet for the premier hosted by Lifetime and Sony Pictures for this new show.
I love the chic romper style of Alicia's look and you can rock this for your upcoming events, birthday parties and appearances too! L*space Callisto has a cute romper that can be dressed up and down for wherever you happen to be off to! Pait it with this fabulous belt by Linea Pelle and croc caged shoes by Elizabeth & James with a fun ALC double antler ring!
I love rocking chambray and in this romper, it's all about being femme chic for sure! I love the ribbon and the button detailing that is on this wideleg look! With the fabulous weather that we have been experiencing all over, I had to show how Spring can be embraced within this look. I'm loving fuchsia an dthere are a number of ways of including this within the site. I love Nicholas Kirkwood's Snakeskin Platform Sandals that have a mixture of hues that make this the new neutral. This Panacea Agate Pendant Necklace is a simple way to bring color close to your face. Mix it up a bit by putting Zariin Pink Agate Gold Adjustable Ring which adds a fab mineral quality to the overall look.

As you can see, Mingling Mondays is getting a bit of a facelift of sorts. Mingling Mondays will be about fab trends that are in season (which right now will be Spring Summer as we are in transition) worn by many of our fave celebs as they're out and about and not on the red carpet! It's a great way for you to see their personal style and to give you options. Kitten Lounge will pop in elements that we love and want you to love and the accessories that can bind this together. Sandra Bullock hits the streets of New Orleans (image from US Weekly) and I'm loving that she's rocking a maxi (which has been a huge portion of my wardrobe in Spring and in Summer. I love that she's rocking it in a stripe that becomes a chevron at the top. Chevron is definitely a huge trend for this season and you can't go wrong within this black and khaki shade. I can't say that I'm a fan of having a north/south bag slung over her in a cross body style but I love that she personalized her look and took some of the volume out of this maxi by tying a knot in it - definitely a bit unexpected!
We've seen a number of celebs rocking maxis and I'm definitely loving Ella Moss' striped maxi which has the length that I love but also adds in a bit of a nipped in waist by having a romper element added in which allows a blousson effect! I love the wider straps as sometimes having skinny straps can dig in a bit. And when it comes to vibrant hues, Vince Camuto has this fabulous keyhole effect with a tangerine hue (hot off the runways of the spring/summer 2012 runway shows) that results in colorblocked chevron! I also love that the neckline has this natural collar which is like a necklace! In terms of rocking a cute bag, these dresses beg for clutches and an envelope style is the perfect item. One of the new neutrals which has been shown for a few seasons is this gorgeous yellow python clutch by Jil Sander. Together, this is the look of spring that will carry over into the summer!
I used to love sherbert growing up as it was all the swirls and tones of colors. My fave was orange and whatever the flavor pink was. When it gets hot outside, the legs have to show and the arms have to be out and today, I'm inspired by the simplicity of the faint hues of sherbert. Today is my boyfriend's birthday and yet there are so many things to do that I am still running around as this week has been so busy! I love this romper which allows you to stay cool but it's also a little sassy so you can do everything you need to do and yet still look super cute to end the night with drinks! This is a fab pinky/coral color which looks amazing when you mix it with other pink, gold and citrus tones. To this end, I am loving, Tuleste Market's Circle Pendant which has an amazing goddess effect in all of its golden and orange tones. Pair this with the amazing Jamie Joseph Fossilized Coral Ring and you can never go wrong with simply Christian Louboutin peep toes!
The effort to support the relied continues and we haven't just thought about apparel. support the relief in Japan by purchasing Assouline's The Light of Tokyo which is an amazing book and will be fab to add to your bookshelf as well as your coffee table (more importantly). We have all visited friends with fab spaces for a house warming, Hamptons weekend and more and this is a great gift. Loving that I just came back from warmth in Texas, all I can think about is recreating fab looks and I love maxis and rompers and of course looking phenomenal. How can you not love fab pieces from Kenneth Jay Lane, Christian Louboutin (loving that this is so much like the D2Squared boat shoe that I loved a few seasons ago), Noir Jewelry, House of Harlow and this Mikoh Strapless Romper (which is perfect for hot NYC days and amazing South Beach nights. Support Japan and add to your bookshelf.
I love when an outfit has a subtle pop factor! This means that it is up to you to really let your accessories do the talking for you! Today my mind kept going back to the Bebe romper I saw online as I am in a Florida state of mind right now with my upcoming appearance this month on HSN! Earlier this weekend, I fell head over heels for Ashley Pittman as I love her "get back to natural" sensibility with tons of pop! This necklace is the perfect compliment! Paired with this fab cork clutch you'll see why this material shouldn't just be adored for its coupling with wine. It's perfectly natural in its look and feel while being a great way to add an unexpected pop of contrast in color. Finally, I have been a fan of Stephen Dweck for years now so any chance to incorporate his pieces on your hand should be taken without a doubt!
Now I am anti-costume for myself - simply because costumes sort of freak me out. So when I dress up during Halloween it's about looking glam with a little sex kitten thrown in. I love this romper because you can wear it in the summer and fall so it's pretty seasonless. It's already sexy so why not pair it with a super cute little 3 piece get up? How can you not look cute with a little bunny tail, gloves and then ears to complete the look! With all the leg you're going to rock in this look, you'll definitely want to make sure that you have some kind of a golden hue on your legs - obsessed with Nars Body Glow and that your eyes look glam and amazing. I don't know about you, but I have 3 parties next week and tired eyes are never a good thing so keep them refreshed with Elizabeth Grant!
I really try to avoid buying fall clothes as long as I possibly can but then it just happens. As I begin to add to my fall wardrobe (which I'm excited about) - I begin to think about a lot of the fun that I had this summer from press trips to hanging out with friends. For me my best times are always connected to a fun outfit. Just wearing it to another place reminds me of the last time and it's a continual experience. With a lot of things going on right now, it's these memories that put a smile on my face when I'm in the press for the next thing! What summer outfits are key in your mind and how did you accessorize it? Above is me in Epcot with Men's Editor, Jacob. I'm wearing a cute little romper dress with my Marc Jacob sunglasses, Ted Rossi python cuff and Coach handbag as well as Coach lightening bolt necklace!
Skooba Laptop Case in Plum Micro Suede $29.95 - OpenSky
Yes there are days when I run to the comfort of Starbucks as I can enjoy a green tea, soak up the wifi and work like I have a million deadlines that must be done in an instant. I could spend all days at Starbucks as hearing other people in the background reminds me of my days in college whether I was working from the dorm or the library. Hearing other people keeps me motivated. Whether I'm at my favorite spot all day or just a chunk, I know that in many cases I will be out and about at an event or hanging out with friends. When it comes time for me to work it's all about the accessories
First off the Skooba laptop bag is one of my favorite things! I love that it can be worn envelope style as you see above or you can carry it like a tote with little handles! I love the color as purple is a favorite and even better, this is apart of a new partner that you will see on Kitten Lounge! When you purchase from OpenSky, you have the opportunity to buy from shops (we will have one) where the owner curates the products! In the next few weeks you will hear about my finds that will be available as Kitten Lounge joins this amazing shop!
Often, I can put my laptop in this bag along with my bare necessities and have been seen wearing this as my bag for the day. On such occasions, I rock my love of purple with an Agate Cuff and super cute glasses that have a slight purple hue! What a way to pull everything together with a cute romper which is not only comfy but you can still grab a 'tini with your bestie and look fab!
I have to be comfortable! There is too much running around for me to have to fuss with my clothes! The weather is also way too hot to wear a bunch of items. So I like to go simple and then glam it up! Hats are my new obsession without question! As you saw from yesterday's post, Eugenia Kim is having a sample sale and I just got my first hat from this line last week and am in love - pics to follow. On days where your hair isn't working the way you want it or it must come up, rock it in a hat and it looks much better. I love this romper as it is casual but also has significant style. Pair this up with natural stones and you're set! Yes I mix gold and silver without any restraint and you can too - it's a signature who says your metals have to match? Take some time to check out these pieces and being that I am originally from Indiana and used to find Geodes all over my campus at Indiana University, I'm glad that I came across this ring!
