Kitten Lounge is all about sharing my favorite finds and also staying current by finding out collections that are new to me. I find them from all over whether people loop me in or I'm about and about and spot something of interest. Recently, I found out about an amazing clothing line called, Charles & Ron. What I love most about this line is that it's a mix of old world glamour, goddess elements and a modern femininity rolled into one. I would love to see a runway show of this or any future collection as I could see it being full of energy and romanticism. Enjoy the images that are included within this post and then make sure that you go to the website to see more photos, videos and additional content!

Fact, it is hard to get into various Fashion Week shows unless you know someone or do a great song and dance to get in. As we go from season to season, many designers are finding ways to make the runways accessible whether it's running the footage on their site or having Twitter access. Baby Phat is doing just that! For those of you that are on Twitter or have been on the fence about it, if you go to Baby Phat's Twitter name and follow them, you'll know what's going on during the show! I love this as you'll not only hear about what's hitting the runway but you'll know tidbits that some of the people watching the show many not be privy to! Don't say that it's impossible to get in as you just got the best access one could ask for!
Fashion Week started yesterday and with today being Valentine's Day - it's all about the love! Although I love the official collection of designers that show at the tents, I am also a fan of those that are offsite or are apart of additional presentations. As many of you are aware, many designers pulled out of the tents in an effort to have a smaller affair. I love that Halston decided to do an interesting interpretation of the runway showing the full movement of his clothes. I definitely think that innovation is going to be what sets designers apart this season and into the next ones. Enjoy the video and the journey of the model as she passes various designs from his collection.
You guys know that my favorite show, hands down at Fashion Week was Tracy Reese's collection which was full of whimsical garden dresses - she makes you feel girly and ready to take on the world at the same time. I still get chills thinking of her choice of music and including Terrence Howard within that line up! Anyway, when her pieces pop up outside of the runway, I love sharing! At the Twilight premier, Jennie Garth was seen wearing this Embellished Toga Dress. She looks elegant and oh so Tracy Reese touched as well! Take some time to check out her site so that you can see what would look best for you!
The other day Bogosse had an amazing night, sharing it's fashions on and off the runway! Bogosse has definitely been worn by various people such as Tim Roth and Ryan Seacrest; however, I love that it's a classic look with a twist! I am a fan of the oxford shirts and if you like this style and want to be noticed, this is the line for you! The Hatian born brother duo of Patrick and Fabrice Tardieu created a line that showed off their style. With Patrick being the Captain of the National Soccer Team of Haiti (and now the CEO of Bogosse) and with Fabrice having experience in Armani France (Bogosse's current Creative Director) - they created this line which is full of style and pop!
The other night, the line was not only shown; however, two friends of mine (we all met when we worked at Abercrombie on 5th Ave when it first opened), hit the red carpet! Amanda Alter (oh yes that would be from Project Runway) and Tyler Barns (Abercrombie Model) were on the Red Carpet to lend their support to this amazing event. Take some time to check out the amazing designs and although it is Miami based, their flagship store is in St Tropez! I love a brand that is centered around just wovens - perfect to go out in after work, to wear at work and without feeling like a traditionalist!
Ah hump day is almost over but I wanted to announce the winner of the Mommie Giveaway for Lucky Me Tees! Congratulations Hip Mom. I will reach out to you so that we can send you a super cute shirt! You have one more day to leave your comments on our giveaway that ends tomorrow - for Model Co Cosmetics. These winners will be announced on Friday! I just wanted to run this by everyone as I am working on odds and ends after watching Project Runway and Lipstick Jungle! Finally, for those that love dressing up, there is a party coming up where I think it would be fun to meet other readers from this site, Twitter and more. I will include more details within the next few days but the party will be on Oct 25th. Have a great night and I am on Twitter for about another hour or so!

This show was definitely one that I was so excited to attend! I am such a fan of Tadashi's designs so as I sat there, I was so pleased to see Miss USA and Heather Schmid as well. As each design hit the runway, I was so glad that this was one of the shows that I was able to see on my birthday!
So Fashion Week is over and yesterday I had an AMAZING birthday and of course there will be recaps and I have another show that I attended last night as well. The Carmen Marc Valvo show was a beautiful show and reminded me of everything that I enjoy about fashion! I love seeing a show where you love every single piece that hits the runway and it's a shame that I can't include every piece but these were my ABSOLUTE faves from this show! I love a great evening gown and the attention to detail that is applied!
So Sarah Conley and I (Style It Online), made our way from the tents to West Chelsea to see Cynthia Rowley's show! In attendance were members of Gossip Girl. I wasn't able to confirm who was there but I saw the excitement on Sarah's face and knew that it was them. The show took place within a lofted space and although it is not completely visible through this video, I loved seeing the runway having a large clock on it. The hands actually moved throughout the show and all the music had the sound of a ticking clock in it as well! This was definitely an interesting factor. Here is footage of the show!
I enjoy watching Project Runway and hearing Michael Kors' thoughts and I have to say that one of my favorite judging moments came when his mom sat next to him adding in her two scents as well! Well it was with much anticipation that I attended Michael Kors' show and I will say that he definitely showed a lot of primary colors from the 60's. I do love the hats and here are some of the best looks from the runway with an image of the man himself!
I have always been a fan of Dashing Diva. Even when I was tight on cash, I found a way to get a mani here. It's always been a place that is clean, professional and just relaxing. Within the last few months, I have enjoyed meeting and working with Dark PR and because of the two, I was able to attend the backstage area to see the makings of this show. I loved seeing the models and watching everyone prepare for this show. More importantly, Dashing Diva did the nails of all the girls in the show! This clip shows the general area where everyone gets their hair and makeup done. Thank you guys for letting us be there! I also caught peeks of the designer as I became very interested when I saw her in the MAC video for the Cult of Cherry video.
We were also able to see the Dashing Diva team come in (they had just come over from the Liz McClean show). Lead by Claudia they entered through the Hair and Makeup area, then went into the area that had the models' clothes arranged (see how they stay organized with the rolling racks and each models names placed on them) and then through another sitting area. They are being lead by Claudia!
I still love my Flip but it was hard to take footage as I could see everyone around me clearly but not the runway! All the action on the runway is really bright (read you can't see the models). So you can enjoy the music and see those that are around us. But I am also going to include images of the show that I think are perfect! I love that this show was a bit like the 50's brought into today - such a great crisp look. I also enjoyed the goodie bag which had Perry Ellis' scent - Paul (Food Editor) enjoyed this.

Above is the Perry Ellis designer taking his walk on the runway. There were a lot of great looks that were 50's meets the beach - loved it! This is something that I look forward to for next season! Below is the fab look that is perfect on the beach!
Last Fri the runways were full of bathing suits and fabulous swimwear! One of my favorite designers, Syla by Sylvie Cachay, hit the catwalk with a super cute Boho Chic look! My favorite look from this show is definitely this piece! I love the simple cream color but the accessories are absolutely amazing and definitely something that I would wear! It's hard to say which accessory is my favorite but clearly my eye was drawn to the belt which looks like it could be agate but I'm not sure. This piece would look cute with a slim fitting jersey or over a tank and a pair of jeans. I love this natural style and think that sometimes it's nice to go beyond wearing prints and to go with something simple and chic which looks amazing no matter where you opt to wear this. This piece and many more can be see on the Mercedes-Benz Swim Miami Fashion Week site as there were a lot of great looks for this show.
Mercedes Benz Fashion Week was kicked off last night with Diesel at the Raleigh Hotel's Pool Deck and of course, I had to share my favorite look from that night! I love the colors and think that this is definitely a swimsuit that would turn heads wherever you are! Of course I am a huge fan of side ties as well. A lot of the shows will go on tonight so I can't wait to share some of my favorite looks! You can also see all of the swimwear (they had a cute set for the kiddies) in photos and as a video by visiting Mercedes Benz' Fashion Week site!
This week we will temporarily focus on an event that is literally my favorite in the entire fashion industry! Maybe because I did a lot of bathing suit modeling at one time but I love Fashion Week Swim and Miami and when both are combined, you can't get any better than that. Next year I am promising myself that I will be an attendee/press (and gasp how great would it be if a swimwear line actually wore my - Kitten Couture Until then, I am dedicated this week to the Mercedes - Benz Fashion Week Swim Event!
So this week, we will be covering a variety of designers from the launch party at the Raleigh Hotel all the way to the very last show! The good thing is you don't have to have Uber VIP status to attend and you can still let your presence be known and get various forms of access to this event via American Express! You can enjoy a Poolside Cabana at the Meet and Greet at The Raleigh with a fab swimwear designer and of course you can see all the swimwear lines such as Red Carter and Ed Hardy!
I am so bummed that I will not be able to meet Tibi's swimwear designer, attend the Diesel show, go to a card member only private trunk show! This is a such a great time and if you will be there and are a card member, check this out and if you're aiming to be at the event next season, I will see you there without question! Stay tuned this week to find out about all the great designers at my favorite season's Fashion Week - sigh!
I love many of the images from Christian Dior's Cruise 2009 Collection. There are so many vibrant colors that pop, I love the infusion of the essence of the Southern Belle mixed with the island babe. My favorite outfit from the entire show is this dress. I love that it's fashionable confection! Obviously the colors are very complimentary to one another and I love the length. This is the perfect item to wear when you go to a friends cocktail party on their rooftop or in the Hamptons! At the same time, this reminds me of a dress that would have been a favorite for me to put on my Barbie! The sleek look with the ruffle is perfect and I love the necklace that was paired with this piece. This is definitely the effortless and comfortable look that you would want to wear when being out and about. It's not a bad idea to think about wearing a cute hat with this as well. Take some time to visit Coutorture to see all of the images available from this show and many other Cruise oriented runway shows as well! If you're cruised out, you're bound to find other great items as well!
I love a lot of the runway shows that have emerged with that fab summer theme and of course, my eye is always on the accessoires portion. Currently, Coutorture has posted Oscar De La Renta's amazing cruise collection and as much as I loved so much that I saw, I couldn't take my eye off of this fabulous bag. Not only is it roomy and has a great handle but I love love the texture on this bag. It's so easy and luxurious at the same time! You can definitely slip your laptop on this bag and a slim line notepad as well along with who knows what else you're prone to carry at a moments notice! Take a moment to visit both galleries on Coutorture - the accessories collection and then the line in total! Once again, when you can't get to the runways or had no idea there was a show, it's nice to know that from the convenience of your home you can see everything!
At any given time someone is strutting on the runway wearing something fabulous and during this portion of Australian Fashion Week, Leonard Salinas' collection hit the catwalk with amazing pops of color that you can definitely see in this shot. First off, I love his silhouettes and he definitely knows how to show some of our best parts - it's nice to bring back that old elegance and to mix it up with interesting embellishment and also amazing rich hues! This is not for the faint at heart.
Now I have to say, that this beautiful grey/silver piece caught my eye since it is one of my favorite colors to wear and I loved the detailing on the neck as well. I wasn't sure if it was something that I would personally wear but I think that this shapes the body well and would be amazing to wear to an opening at a gallery, a cocktail event launching a book that just hit the New York Times or any other occassion that calls upon us to step it up when it comes to our attire. But I think the magic in this piece comes when this model gives us another view.
The back of this dress took me off guard completely and instantly this become a piece that I want in my collection ASAP. I love that this simple look completely makes this dress go from safe to daring and yet your inner Audrey never has to wonder if this is appropriate to wear to the functions mentioned above. This dress is perfect to pair with a necklace that is intended to be worn down your back and of course you hair down is perfect but having it in a messy updo of sorts wouldn't be a bad idea. If you love this piece and the peeks that you can see in the background, see more from this show and others on Coutorture!
I love the backdrop of Australian Fashion Week! I think that it would be fun to see a show with the city in the background! How great would it be to be able to catch a show walking across a promenade even if you weren't really invited. I love that Jayson Brunsdon has created an elegant and fun line that is very simple but with pop elements of color and or interesting cuts. I love the tunic like look of this outfit which presents a 30's glam/mod look. I also love the orange hues and the abstract design as well. But this piece isn't completely overwhelming since the design is only shown in concentrated areas. This is a great piece to wear to a gala or an opening of great art at a friend's gallery. This definitely makes you look like a goddess wherever you decide to wear it! Take some time to see more looks from this talented designer on Coutorture as they continue to present Fashion Week events around the globe.
No matter where you are there is always a runway show going on somewhere across one of the many catwalks that are on the globe! No matter what you have access to them whether you were in the venue or you look at a variety of shows via amazing sources. One of those great sources includes Coutorture which brings the best of fashion, blogs such as this one and of course amazing editorials as well!
This runway show is from Peter Som during his SS08 Runway show. Although this look is being presented within this post, you can visit the site to see the rest of the amazing outfits that were presented during the show. I love that this look takes the idea of "Lady in Red" to another level. I love that this dress has the look of the "Ladies Who Lunch" but isn't stuffy and can have a lot of fun! This dress is definitely like a lot of other pieces within his collection in that the cocktail style of dress is played up and has a lot of fun elements. This can definitely be worn with the sweetest of ballet flats and of course, a great pair of heels as well. Of course, you can find more amazing designers on Coutorture as well.
This image from the Wayne Cooper Fashion Week show in Australia is full of pops of color that are perfect for getting ready for the best colors of the summer. I can imagine wearing this dress knowing that you were going to an amazing beach soiree or some other kind of gala. I love that it is strapless and also flowy so that you can enjoy dancing or just sitting pretty in a nearby Cabana. Make sure you check out more fab looks by Wayne Cooper and the rest of the collection.
So the concept of LAGOON is a favorite of mine because it incorporates obviously blues and greens but also being able to enjoy the sun and all that comes with that. I love this outfit that came from the runways of Michael Kors (which you know I am a huge fan of his sense of great classic American style) and is apart of a collection of images from Coutorture. I love the bold color and the concept of the sun kissed island babe. You know with Michael he incorporate this goddess tone into everything that he presents! Even this silver girl gets sucked into his love for gold and bronze!
When I think about Fashion Week - I love that it continues no matter where you are! Today, we highlight in this Trendy Thursday segment, Joeffer Caoc's Toronto Fashion Week Show. Initially, I came across this fab designer while checking out today's Coutorture recap of this portion of the runway Fashion Week. For the purpose of this post, I wanted to introduce a designer that was new to me and that I definitely wanted to let you guys know about. I love this outfit I think that in terms of the top - I love that it is a one shoulder and has a bit of that Grecian vibe which is very femme and exotic. I also love that it is paired with a pair of cuffed shorts which is so South Beach! I think this is a nice addition to the concept of THINK CITRUS! Check out more of Joeffer Caoc on his site and see the amazing pieces from his collection.
