Trendy Thursdays ~ Kaleidoscope Beauty

I love my beauty trunks as there are a number of goodies that are in there for any given situation. Since I'm always receiving mascaras, eyeshadows and more prior to their release, I know that whatever look I'm going for is bound to be in one of cases! With that said, sometimes I go for what speaks to me in theory - it's not even lifestyle specific. Right now I'm definitely loving a few pieces that will be included in future outings from traveling, brunch and just being out and about.

ACCESSORIES INSPIRATIONS

My inspiration comes from this fabulous multi colored cocktail ring which reminds me of a kaleidoscope from Sharon Khazzam who is known for her one of a kind pieces. I love a great ring and many of you know that it's my signature without a doubt. This ring has a number of colors in it which also inspired me when I'm thinking of looking great for whatever the occasion happens to be.

GET THE BEAUTY LOOK

Last week, I attended HSN's Oz Preview which had a number of brands that had created products for the launch of the movie which is coming out on Friday (so excited). Urban Decay created two kinds of color palettes and I have been loving the one I received which embodies Glinda the Good Witch! The collection comes with eyeshadows, eyeliner and a lip pencil. It's such a great number of hues and I love that everything (minus the lip pencil) can be stored within the case. Another eyeshadow favorite (which is perfect for smoky eyes) of mine is Sue Devitt and although I have the purple version of this, the green Marine Minerals is definitely on trend and a great series of hues to have. Another eyeshadow that I love is YSL's Ombre in Topaz Blue! When I feel that it's a bit bright, I love blending it in with charcoal. Another beauty fave that pulls tones of the ring into this selection is Deborah Lippmann's Ruby Slippers which is a rich garnet with a bit of shimmer.

Obviously great skin is maintained skin! I LOVE cleansing wipes and have a number of brands I use that are amazing in a number of ways. I also carry a to go version with me as there are times where I have to change from one makeup look to another - these Sephora Express Cleansing Wipes are perfect! I think it can never be said enough but SPF regardless of whether the sun is out, regardless of the season and DEFINITELY regardless of your skin tone is an essential. I just started trying out Murad's Age-Proof Suncare Oil Free Sunblock. I love that it has pom in it and is great coverage for the skin.

Trendy Thursdays: Events ~ Socialista NY Jetsetter

As temperatures dip, I do love when you can squeeze in some time outdoors! One of my dear friends who knows how to throw a party (hello she totally rocked it as one of our personalities who walked our Gasoline Glamour and Eva Varro for our Shoe Week show) and is the founder of Midtown Girl as well as "Socialista NY! This event was phenomenal as it brought the trio powerhouse of John Simon, Patricia O'Connell Lewis and Amy together thanks to the fabulous sponsors that included Kensie, Bryant Park, Southwest Airlines, Sephora, Grey Goose Noir Cherry (just to name a few). It was a wonderful night full of nibbles and bevvies and just playing massive catch up with one another! In addition, the theme was about jetsetting which I am all too familiar with.

I also love an event that not only do you meet people that you have yet to meet but those that you have only seen slightly! I was so excited to see the Founder and designer of Princess London Shoes, Priscilla who I first met this summer during FFANY (a shoe trade show and she is pictured to my left).

I talk so much about creating a fab look in terms of makeup but how about ensuring that you have fabulous clear skin? I'm a big believer in Spa Water from Koh Gen Do when it is used in tandem with the organic pads that are also sold on their site! I love to also ensure that my face is moisturized by using Sibu Beauty Protect and Correct (and I use this daily not that I have bad skin problems but I love preventative maintenance). I also use a slew of products within both product lines but these are my must haves that I have used for years and of course. I use this with my Clarisonic.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Dragon Beauty

I love that the New Year continues to cycle through as you have New Year's Eve, Ukranian New Years and additional ones that allow all of us to kick off the year with a fresh start and renewed senses. This year, Jan 23rd is Chinese New Year! I have been told that Chinese New Year or the Lunar year spans a number of days and in that light, today and tomorrow we honor this holiday on Kitten Lounge! This year is known as the year of the Dragon and today's beauty post focuses on all beauty products that have that dragon tie in. Some were named to be included within the holiday and to acknowledge it and others include the name and work well with this post simply based on the theme!

Around Kitten Lounge, I have fallen in love with Gianna Rose Atelier Soaps which has year of the dragon soaps in fragrants scents that incorporate a blend of Green Tea, Ginger and Bergamot. This box contains four soaps within in and I love that it is unisex as Paul has embraced these soaps as well! Cartier's Le Baison Du Dragon has a fab ornate bottle that incorporates this theme and as you're running around the streets and ensuring that your face is flawless, Sephora and Hello Kitty present a compact mirror in gold that honors 2012's Year of the Dragon. We always think about our guys when it comes to Jack Black which keeps his lips moist with this Dragon Ice and I love that it pulls double duty as the scents are just as fab for women!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Holiday Glam in a Flash

When it comes to my go to holiday look, I don't mind being a bit more bold then I normally would! I'm all about subtle hues for sure when it comes to my face but I love a bold eye. Here are some of my personal faves that I don't leave without and always have in my bag especially during the holiday season in case I need to spruce up quickly! Besides using my new found fave foundation from Dior as a base which hydrates my skin, I either use my 24/7 Urban Decay Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Kohl but my backup is also Sephora's kohl pencil as I like having a powerful black eye. With eyeshadow, you can't go wrong with Givenchy which has a number of fun hues that you can wear alone or can pair with one another to make a fabulous smoky eye. I believe you can't look amazing without bronzer - it doesn't matter what the temperature is, it's a necessity and gives you that natural glow so Lancome's compact is a great one although I love using a number of them but tend to stick to Laura Geller's Baked versions. Lips in a natural hue always look stunning and refreshed and Guerlain has a number of lipglosses that are a must. I have been known to mix 2 - 3 glosses together to create my signature hue! Dior's mascara is a must for me and whether I mix it in a cocktail (meaning placing other mascaras in if it's a huge night out or a shoot) or alone, my lashes would not leave the house for a night out without it! Finally, stay fresh with Coach's rollerball which comes in a duo scent and has my favorite half - Poppy!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Plum Beauty

Purple, plum, lilac and more are fabulous shades that can be included within the beauty routine that you do on a day to day basis! Whether you're looking to spruce up your vanity or you simply want to add a new hue to your look, I've definitely got you covered! Start your day off with Caress' Fine Fragrance Elixirs Body Wash Sheer Delight in Cashmere Luxury Silkening Body Wash which has orchid milk and warm vanilla essence. This is the perfect blend to start or end your day while enjoying a fragrant smell that will keep you refreshed. Pair this phenom body wash with a lilac colors Clarisonic that will ensure your skin is beyond soft and vibrant. If you find that you'll be running around whether to a shoot, long weekend or on vacation, you'll want these Eastern Opulence Bag Collection in various sizes that are available at Sephora. When it comes to adding color, think about changing up your eyeliner with Lancome or your eyes can rock a phenom eyeshadow of your choice by Dior. I'm all about rocking dark shades for nails and MAC Cosmetics has Mac Me Over's Shirley & Nicole for that lush look! Finally, spritz yourself with one of my favorite fragrances by Natori which has more of that great eastern sample of flavors that will enhance the bodywash from your day!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Happy Birthday Hello Kitty

I have been a fan of Hello Kitty ever since I could remember so of course I officially wanted to wish her a Happy Birthday which kicks off for the month of November. I know that the merchandise has been around since 1976 and being a 1979 baby I can say that I grew up with this brand from having school sets complete with staplers to being able to enjoy the luxe high end nature of it as well! I never travel without my Bling Mirror which is shown above and is available at Sephora along with a myriad of beauty items that will sass up your every day routine. In addition, she makes the perfect look when it comes to the perfect tee (available at Tilly's) which can be paired with a fab look when you're running around town! Get business done with this fab business card holder from Swarovski as well as the fab over the top ring which shows that cuteness and business can happen together. Finally, it's all about pulling it together. With the weather we're having lately, it's all about ensuring that you stay warm with these knit leggings from Y's, and perfectly layered with this leather jacket from Acne Studios and rock out with these heeled Hunter Boots (even if it's not raining or snowing you won't be caught unprepared)!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Glam Holiday

Can you believe that we are towards the end of the holiday season? We're just a few days away from the ball dropping and firmly closing the door on 2010 with nothing but hope and a clean slate in front of us for 2011. With that said, we know that beauty is a synergy of what your wearing with your dress and beauty products combined. Right now, I am obsessing over this style of dress as it's Studio 54 and Grecian love all in one! With such a sparkly combo, you have to rock amazing product from smoky eyes, a hint of color for the lips and finally, glistening skin that is not only moisturized but has a glow that will make you look phenomenal! This is perfect for holiday parties, corporate parties and of course the big night that is the most important of the entire year! You can also keep these ideas in mind when it comes time for other special occasions in your life!

Trendy Thursdays: Notes From Paris ~ Autumn Dream ...

Notes from Paris is a series of posts from Valerie Nahmias, Beauty Editor of Femina Magazine in Paris. Brought together by our mutual friend and fashion photographer, Franco Lacosta, her posts will be featured each month bringing us her insights on beauty from products to fabulous tips! Last time, Valerie talked about the Lanvin's new scent Marry Me! Today she lets us in on scents that are perfect for fall and to enhance your sleeping or waking up through the eyes of a child.

Have you noticed how a sunny day can be soft when the clouds filter the sunbeams and makes your home so cool and cozy? WOW!! It's serene for us to see our child sleeping in a revelry of dreams. During this precious time, we can prepare our weekly beauty regime!! To contribute to the bliss of their sleep, but also to their olfactory awakening, I like adding a touch of sweetness perfumed on their sheets or in the atmosphere. 5 light waters attract my attention this autumn...

A real invitation to dreams, the mist of Morpheus calms the senses. This attractive Canadian brand associates the geranium to balance the feelings and lavender to facilitate the sleep. Two sprays in the fresh and clean room add a touch of love in the air…

L’eau de lit de Guerlain, created by Francis Kurkdjan is as soft as a baby's kiss. With notes of sage, seed of néroli, leaves of bergamot, orange, coriander and vanilla, children wake up enchanted.

The Vinaigre de Toilette seems old-fashioned in 2010 but really, I always like his wooded spicy perfume. So French, so Dyptique! A drop in the bath or at the bottom of a small dish, into which I add a cup of boiling water, its perfumes divinely the room.

One more? Super trendy, the water of linen Infusion d’Iris! Pulverized on the linen before ironing, she leaves a sophisticated powder smell Made in Italy ! Let’s live our winter in wonderful fragrances…

Shopping List...

Mist of Morpheus, Officina Urban Therapy 15 € 100 ml

Water of Bed of Guerlain, 50 € 125 ml

Vinaigre de Toilette Dyptique, 38 € 100 ml

Infusion of Iris, Water of Linen, Prada, 53,30 € the liter c/o Sephora

Valerie is the Beauty Editor of Paris' Femina Magazine and it's blog Redaction Beaute and has spent her years in the fashion/beauty industry. She was an assistant at French Elle Magazine for Carine Roitfeld (who is now French Vogue's Editor in Chief) and wrote the book, Pour Etre Belle.

Sippin Saturdays ~ The Power of 2010

The past few weeks have been extremely telling for me. It has allowed me to see that one of the quotes I've always believed in "it's a small world after all" is definitely true. When I began Kitten Lounge, I knew that what I am doing now and what I will be doing in a few days was what I wanted but the journey to get there, wasn't so clear. It definitely takes a village and to work with others in order to get to wherever you're going. The more you meet, connect, understand and assist, you find that everything is a give and take and that it feels natural.

Speaking with a very good friend yesterday at breakfast, I was so excited that Jeannine Morris of Beauty Sweet Spot was heading to her spokesmodel event for Rapid Lash. Knowing her in the time period that I have, I have seen her take her passion to something that she can enjoy everyday. Popping in later in the day, I not only saw her doing what she does best but learned that Duane Reade has an amazing upstairs location on 35th and Broadway that brings in many elements that have made Sephora successful! My focus was definitely to come and support which you will see in the video above. But it was awesome that she was excited that I was going to LA and that she was as excited as if she was going herself to go to Style Network. This coming from someone who has already done the E! Red Carpet and has appeared on TV numerous times made me feel less overwhelmed about the upcoming experience

The night before, I was invited to the home of Josie Natori which I wrote about on yesterday's post. To be in the home of someone who I have admired, attended her booth at various trade shows and have always wanted her robes was an amazing thrill. I had to pinch myself that I was looking in her closet and was so thankful for friends such as Karen Robinovitz of Purple Lab that brought me into this circle.

As I think about many items coming up over the next few days, weeks and months - I am thankful. It takes amazing readers to make this site a success, I love having great friends who are out there doing great things so that I can support and participate! I also feel that there is something about this year where everyone is seconds away from truly taking off in ways that they can only dream of! Here's to continued success in 2010! If you're out and about tonight and have no clue what to do but want to hang out, I will be apart of the Bunny Bar Crawl being hosted by Maria The Date Coach with amazing beverage specials, wearing my tail and ears! They just opened it up to men as well so bring your besties, hunnie and more!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Beauty Musts To Have & To Hold

Whether your stingy, able to share or your thinking gifting - you can never go wrong with a Beauty Bundle. Beauty Bundles is a term that means beauty gift sets (or at least to me). If I love a brand I like having more than just one of something and even if a few shades may not work for me, then you can place them in a gift for someone else. You're not only passing on the gift of beauty and good taste but it's just good Girlonomics! Whether this means that it goes in as a stocking stuffer or becomes a thank you when you're staying with one of your girfriends half way across the country (I'm know as the person who when packing, I pack up a lot of product that I'm sent to my friend who I'm staying with during a trip).

Today's goodies are brands that I could not go without! You know that I'm super passionate about Purple Lab's Huge Lips, Skinny Hips gloss as my lips stay super moisturized and the smell is so yummie - you feel like a glamazon just applying it!. I became obsessed this time last year with the 24/7 Eyeliner from Urban Decay. My eyes are ALWAYS lined with their Kohl color. If I happen to go to a Sephora and they have run out of that color, I will stalk every Sephora in the city to get it! Nars Cosmetics is another passion that I have for almost 2 years! I love their body polish which keeps me glowing, their eyeshadows, gloss and more but I also love their nail colors as well. Any shade that has a pop of vixen in it, I'm all over it. Finally, when it comes to Sephora, I could spend all my hours in there with so many brands to play with. In addition, I love their private line as well. Many times when I'm unsure of a color I start with their brand as they have so many colors!

Whatever your reason, buying a few things here and there and having multiples is an awesome way to build your beauty cases or massive trunks - whichever way you organize it! Start thinking about gifting yourself and others this holiday season!

Trendy Thursdays: Project Detox ~ Desert Oasis

In an ongoing series, Keren Weinstein, our Guest Life-Balance Editor, took a much needed trip. More than the need to go on vacation to a new locale, she wanted to find her own sense of balance and thus Project Detox began. Last week, we arrived in Tuscon just in time to catch the rare site of the Organ Pipe Cactus which only blooms once a year at night! Today we continue with her thoughts and begin to understand ourselves!

The Journey into Myself in what I refer to as Project Detox, was designed to flow much like my Yoga routine.

Of course you can practice yoga just about anywhere, but it is much more efficient and effective to practice in an environment that is quiet, clean, peaceful & infused with nature.

The concept may be cliché but it seems pretty Obvi to me.

If your schedule is anything like mine then simply getting to class means you literally run in last minute still catching your breath from your rainy-commute-home-from-work followed by the parenting after school routine of playtime-dinner-clean up-bath time-brush teeth-read books-bed time. All eyes are on you, as you attempt to squeeze the yoga mat in between your classmates in an angle that keeps at least some sort of jagged edged view of your instructor. Once you finally do sit down and attempt to catch up to the class your intro breathing resembles something like this…

Inhale. Exhale.

Inhale. (“Did I put the milk back in the fridge?”) Exhale.

Inhale (“Must remember to renew my yoga package ooh gotta stretch my legs”) Exhale.

OK. So clearly your mind and body take time (& effort) to relax but how great is getting a jumpstart (or more like quick fix) from your instructor as she is Staging Moments for you?

She turns down the lights. Puts on relaxing yoga music. Adjusts the temperature in the room. Gives you a visual throw back to nature by telling you to ‘be a tree’. Ground yourself at the root/core while allowing yourself to softly sway with your breath as the tree does in the wind. She then lights a sage’ish aromatherapy candle and we chant.

OHM………

(Yum!) Release. Unwind. Become aware. Reconnect.

Begin to take my stance on the edge of the diving board to jump into myself.

Ironic (& challenging) how you actually use your internal and external senses to assist in bridging the gap between mind and body only to then work on disconnecting from your senses in order to get to the true inner you. This was my P.D. task.

For Project Detox the Sonoran Desert becomes my 'yoga mat'.

When I discovered that one of my favorite Hotel chains, the Loews built their Tucson property with a unique balance between keeping “[local] Nature in mind” and creating a luxury resort & spa (which for Loews means luxurious yet comfortable, kid & pet friendly yet perfect for couples or solo spa/golfing trips, fine dining & pampering, Me First!) I knew I found my bridge for that mind-body-spirit connection.

The Loews Ventana Canyon Resort is a unique resort that embodies the pure essence of Tucson. The hotel is organically situated at the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains and is practically camouflaged into the beautiful desert landscape.

This picture was taken from the balcony of my suite. Notice how the hotel has the same DNA as the desert cacti and mountains and how it’s embedded within the environment seamlessly.

All my senses are engaged.

The healing dry heat, the visual beauty of Nature at its purest form, the soothing sound of the cascading eighty foot waterfall and the unique taste of the Hummingbird Tea. This is a unique tea blend made exclusively for Loews Ventana and is a medley of orange peals and the plants that are indigenous to the area like the Ayurvedic Hibiscus flower, Calming Desert Lavender, etc. How incredible to actually be able to taste the Tucson flora as do the local Hummingbirds (hence the name)! Grab a complementary cup at the lobby, order a cup from one of their six restaurants and lounges or, like me, buy a box on-site to take the experience home with you.

Whenever I travel, it is key for me to learn as much about the destination as possible (especially the best kept secrets!).

What is cool about this hotel is that they’ve teamed up with the Arizona-Sanora Desert Museum, Tucson Botanical Gardens & Friends of Sabino Canyon to create an on-site nature trail (called the “Window Walk”) that educates the guests on the indigenous plant life, native birds, butterflies, reptiles, mammals, geology of Tucson, the life of a Saguaro, the history of the Loews Ventana and a stunning display of minerals.

The clearly labeled signage that seems to grow from the stones are enjoyable to read – especially when playing ‘Name That Aromatherapy’ as you attempt to distinguish between the fresh scents of the Jojoba Plant (familiar) & rare desert rain scent of the Creosote Bush (new) on the trail only to recognize them on the sign as ‘that key ingredient’ in a new fabulous product you just bought from Sephora on 5th Ave.

Wearing the recommended color red to attract the hummingbirds, I wander into this journey that begins at the Koi fish pond right outside the concierge desk and takes me through a desert oasis for the senses to drink.

This is a Desert Oasis and I am the thirsty camel.

Trendy Thursdays: Get Scrubbed

We all need to look refreshed and whether you get your spa treatments at a salon or you opt to do it at home, we always need to have a few items at home where we can get a few things done! I'm a huge believer in turning your home into a retreat and the easiest way to achieve this is great products! From the lips to the body in general, I have you covered! I love the products above - personally, I'm super obsessed with Laura Geller's Lip Strip Cooling Sugar Scrub! I tend to use it about once a week and I love that it makes your lips smooth and also gives them a little zing as well! Those who know me know that I'm never without body sprays, lotions, etc and my constant glow comes from the fact that I do like to exfoliate as much as possible! Sephora has an amazing line of scrubs that you should check out and my favorites are split between Nude Skincare and L'Occitane! Take some time to check these out and other brands to find how you can achieve amazing skin just in time for summer!

Trendy Thursdays: John Varvatos

I am such a Chanel No 5 fan - it's a classic scent and my personal favorite! If I wear perfume, it tends to be that one. Last year I was introduced to Euphoria Blossom which is definitely a fun scent and I thought at this point, that I was pretty well rounded in my choices of scents. Months ago I had received a sample of John Varvatos for her and although I loved the shape of the mini bottle, I didn't have the need to try it on. This morning in a crazy rush to grab samples and get out of the house, I grabbed it and put it on. The initial shock was wondering where I had placed my tried and true scents and the second - this was a great perfume! I love that it has a rich floral smell; however, it isn't overwhelming. It definitely has classic notes to it and a slight hint of a woody scent which is very mysterious! I would definitely run to your nearest Sephora to pick up this fragrance or to visit John Varvatos' site to see what other scents he has to offer. If you're looking for something nice, you might consider (for him obviously) Artisan which is perfect for the guy who loves a crisp scent and also values craftsmanship.

My favorite best beauty blogs (All Lacquered Up, The Beauty Blogging Junkie The Beauty of Life, The Daily Cookie and the The Daily Obsession)have come together to present an amazing selection of products, many that have been covered on Kitten Lounge (Urban Decay, Yes to Carrots, Too Faced, Tassi etc)! If you don't have these itenms you need to go to Sephora and stock up! In addition, you may win great goodies for all of your effort to see who gets these amazing awards!

Trendy Thursdays: Protect Those Lips

I am obsessed with Lip Balm probably more so than lotion (although you know I am always using both). I had seen Rosebud Perfume Co for years but never thought to use it as I am not a fan of the smell of  roses. I don't know what it was but one day as I was in Sephora, I saw it again and fell in love with the packaging and loved that it was $6 and new that the tins would last for a few months. Maybe it was the display or the fact that my favorite lipbalm from Bath & Body Works had been discontinued (I had been using it since high school). I purchased it and was overwhelmed by the rose scent; however, the coverage and the gloss effect had me hooked! I have yet to try the other scents and hope that my favorite one will not be discontinued as I am a loyal fan. If you have always wondered about using this - you should! Above is the entire collection (Brambleberry is something that I wouldn't mind sampling at some time). This is perfect to wear all the time and is definitely a must in the winter. I love when I use Laura Geller's Lip Strip and then I put this on!

Trendy Thursdays: Why We Crave Sephora

This holiday season you have to think smart. I don't think there is anyone that can believe that it's the holiday season or the end of the year! Whether you're time crunched, funds light or anything else, you have to think about looking great and/or how you will gift for others. On my list I have people that I've known for ages, family, colleauges, etc. But then I know that you hit those situations where a gift is needed but I may not be as familiar as I would prefer. I really don't care for giving gift certificates as I feel it's a quick way out of a purchase that should take some thought (not to say that I haven't used it). I like the gift set because it gives variety. The person may not like everyting that's in there but they stand a chance of like something and they can always give portions of it away! It's a gift that keeps on giving. All of these sets are under $30 and are perfect for stocking stuffers, Secret Santas and more! As you know if you have been reading the Holiday Gift Guide, I am obsessed with Velvet Rope by Urban Decay. I will never wear another brand of eyeliner without a doubt! I think that Dylan's Candy definitely did the fab jump from candy to embracing a beauty line! Gloss is always a nice option and this Lancome line spices it up with the fishnet theme and when it comes to my eyes, I love multiple shades of eyeshadow! Not only can you give love to others but this doesn't stop you from snagging some great finds. Check out what Sephora has to offer whether you do so at your local shop or online!

Trendy Thursdays: NARS is in My Collection

Today was an interesting day which also explains my delay in sending out the post. It has been a rainy but productive day! Today I was apart of a taping that will be on CBS and included sometime next week. With the holidays being around the corner, I enjoyed being fitted into great looks that would be perfect for a festive occassion and I love that most of my makeup came from NARS. When it comes to makeup, I'm pretty basic in the sense that I love playing up my eyes but I don't know all the fancy tricks so as I sat in Space NK's studio, I chatted up David asking him what he was doing and how I could do it on my own (yeah I don't know about that).

When he finished off my look, NARS Body Glow on my skin. I have seen this so many times and always thought it would be too gold but interestingly enough (and thankfully), I found it to be the perfect shimmer that could not only be worn at night but in the day as well! This is definitely on my wish list and speaking of, there are two additional items that I think would make great gifts! I love the NARS Velvet Matte Lip set as it comes with a trio of pencils and a pencil sharpner (I love when I have that included so that I don't have to run trying to find it in my local Sephora). I also love the NARS lipgloss collectionn as you never know what mood you're in (I also like if you have friends over and they don't have a gloss you have enough to share). For me, I am never without MAC and now NARS which are my makeup musts when you see me out and about. When the show airs, you'll see what NARS products David used!

Trendy Thursdays: New Collections at Sephora

I love hanging out at Sephora for about an hour or so to find new items and to also look at new collections. I may not buy the entire thing but I love seeing packaging and what everything does as well. Right now Too Faced has a collection known as California Glamin'. I love that it brings elements of the summer in with the tanning lotions (if you're interested) and also a bit of glimmer as well. I love the Lash Injection which I purchased last week during Fashion Week! For those days that I am out at an event, I love for my lashes to look extra thick so in this way I definitely bring out my inner glam diva!

In addition to this collection, I love that Sephora has also included Benefit's, Love Your Look Collection. I love the warm hues that are perfect for the fall. I have been a fan of Benefit since college so I always take time to check out their presence in the store or to the visit their website!

Finally, Vincent Longo's C_Scope Collection reminds me of Vitamin C with all of the pops in color. I think these hues are perfect when we hit those days of excessive rain or grey clouds due to the cold that settles in! Take some time to check out these collections and more at a Sephora store near you or at Sephora.com.

Trendy Thursdays ~ Illuminate in a Flash

Shimmer The first time I saw Model Co, I was in Sephora. I would later learn that it was an Australian brand that definitely knew a thing or two about beauty. I enjoyed seing the pink and white containers and loved that the products looked so simple while being absolutely amazing. I have had the pleasure of receiving some great products from their PR team and can't wait to share my thoughts on them with you! I have to say that I was so excited to try their Shimmer Airbrush Illuminiser!

I love that as you spray your skin, you're not only pleased with the shimmer that it leaves behind. Not only does this create an amazing glow, but it also has an amazing smell - which leaves you breathing in Frangipani (my school's flower interestingly enough). Not only do you smell amazing but you will be relaxes as you have chamomille and vitamin E to calm you as well. So you'll always look completely refreshed.

I definitely love the price point and the fact that it is so accessible at Sephora as well. With a full line to take care of your skin, you'll pamper your way through every look your're going for from illuminating skin that sparkles to having a nice tan that you can apply yourself (more on that for next week) and much more. I can't wait to share with you and I have to say that there is nothing wrong with having these cute colors and containers to brighten up my bathroom!

Trendy Thursdays ~ Baked Lovelies in All Varieties

BakedbasicsLaura Geller is one of my favorite beauty brands. I remember just a few months ago when I began revitalizing my beauty collection, I saw this collection in Sephora. I loved the eyeshadow (I ended up getting Moonstruck) which had hues of blue, black, olive, silver etc. Then I came across the bronzers. I got the Blush-N-Brighten in Berry. I absolutely love it and I love the shimmer that it leaves behind. But sometimes I wonder if I should have purchased more. Laura Geller solves this problem maximizing your beauty and keeping it economical in the same sense. The Baked Basics, contains three hues in Blush-N-Brighten Berry, Bronze-N-Brighten and Balance-N-Brighten. In addition, there is also a brush that comes with this kit. This set is $48 and is absolutely an essential to make sure that you look amazing as if the sun goddess herself came down to make sure you were ready to go out and about. Take some time to visit a Sephora or to go online to see the entire collection and what elements you're missing from your cases and bags!

Trendy Thursdays: Be Cool & Keep it Clean

Laura_gellarThe best thing about being apart of the Coutorture network is to see a variety of writers that talk about various areas in fashion and beauty. When I first started writing, my focus was purely accessories. I enjoy writing about all items that within this category on See Pretty Things. Of course after writing about this, I realized that I wanted to be able to bring in entertainment and style so I included that within this blog - The Kitten Lounge. This site has definitely stepped it up by adding additional elements and today I launch Beauty! I am really excited that going forward, Thursday will covers makeup and cosmetics. I want to share with you my favorite products and those that have just hit the market! Previously I have posted about this here and there but to have this as an ongoing selection makes me very happy!

With that being said I am including my 2nd favorite item that I love using. Those who know me know that I love my MAC Studio Fix powder. I love the coverage and how natural it is and whenever I am out and about, this is in my bag and knows that it is time to travel. Recently, I became a fan of
as I have her baked products that include bronzer and eye shadow. As we transitioned from winter to spring and on to summer (and because I am never without my lip gloss or balm), I wanted to find a nice Lip Strip that would ensure that my lips would stay soft! This soft sugar scrub comes in a tiny cute container and can be massaged on the lip for about one minute. I love that there is a great peppermint taste if you happen to taste it by accident and upon first use, this $15 product is absolutely worth having! Available exclusively on Sephora.com - this is a must have no matter where you go. I use it about once a week after I have used my mask. It's a nice quick spa with great results.
