Fashionable Fridays ~ Transitioning Into Spring

This week, we were so fortunate to have beyond amazing weather! I was able to rock flips flops, a maxi dress and a tank top! But the Spring is a mix of amazing weather, a bit of winter attempting to hang on and then that rainy period as well. You'll find yourself rotating through a number of looks that are weather specific. Today, it's a bit overcast and it's Friday! So with that in mind, this is a day of errands, wrapping up the week and more - I want to be comfy! Roll over the above images to see what I'm obsessed with at the moment. As you know, I'm a huge fan of grey and I love a great oversized top to keep me cozy and this one by Poison Ivy and available at Alloy is so great for a day like today. Keep it simple by pairing it with skinny jeans by Current/Elliott. In addition, accessorize the look with pops of coral and fab neutral hues via Coach, Dannijo, Clare Vivier, C Wonder, and Me&Ro.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ In Like a Lion Out Like a Lamb Style

Just a few weeks ago I commented to someone about how the weather has been pretty decent for winter! In fact, we have even had some unseasonably warm days which was nice and then we hit the weather that took place yesterday - rain snow mix! I suppose we can't really complain as it's not so bad but the teasing of what we can wear as we get closer and closer to Spring is unbearable. So to that end, I'm always glad when I get a chance to travel during this time of year - but how do you travel best when you're going to a warmer climate?

I'm heading out to Charleston on Thursday morning and will be back home Friday afternoon. On a trip like this, I tend to have my garment bag and a weekender so that I don't have a lot to take with me and it ensures that everything can come on the plane with me. I love a look that lets me get right off of the plane and straight to what I need to do! I love a good kaftan and once you roll over the images, you'll see what pieces I love using and rocking so that I have great effortless style even when I'm up in the air.

Fashionable Fridays: Win It ~ Chic & Layered

This winter season can be a challenge from surprisingly warm days to down right chilling to the bone temperatures! How do you dress for something like this? It's all about layers and great pops of color. I love a neutral palette and believe in mixing white, black and grey together. The versatility of this look allows you to go all over and throughout your day without wondering if you're appropriately dressed no matter the impromptu situation.

I love a great pair of skinny jeans and this pair from Paige Denim and add a fab white tank that can be dressed up and down by Rag and Bone is a fab look. Complete the look with a great rolled cardigan in grey from Ralph Lauren Blue Label. A fab pair of ankle boots add a nice touch to the look by Saint Laurent.

Of course, I'm all about accessorizing and love adding in fab embellishments to jazz up this look. All of these pieces have notes of silver, Mother of Pearl and quartz. Although I'm not a watch person, I do like this Michael Kors timepiece. Layer on a Chan Luu bracelet that adds in another subtle hue. I love this Mother of Pearl necklace which has a great depth of texture as a way to bring in an old world charm as well as being very modern. Finally, I love this quartz and diamond ring by Sandra Dini.

Finally, it's all about the bag - with this winter season that will soon transition into Spring, you have to have a pop of color and you know that I'm a huge fan of Linea Pelle as I love their rich leather, fab embellishments and amazing colors. This Dylan Medium Tote is a lovely yellow and I have been carrying this body style in the fall. I love that you can fit so much in here (many times I have my laptop in my bag and all of my tech goodies)! So kicking off today, you have the chance to win this fabulous bag and a winner will be announced on Feb 7th (the first day of NYFW) so that you can begin building your closet on the way to great style!

Win this great bag by visiting Linea Pelle and making sure that you sign up for their newsletter. Fashionable Fridays ~ Bundle Chic

The weather has definitely taken a turn for consistently chilly so we have to bundle up. Coming off of the new week of 2013, it's been an easy week to ease back into our schedules. As we head off to the weekend, we want to ensure that we look fabulous while also running around after the work day is done. Being a fan of neutrals, I had to combine them together in order to showcase a super easy look with this oversized Donna Karan grey sweater. Pair this over a pair of J Brand metallic jeans which adds a pop of color and texture to the look. Of course we're all about accessorizing so we love picking up the grey of the sweater wuth this Rosantica gunmetal-dipped, river pearl and quartz necklace. Adorn your fingers with CA & Lou which is a great wrap with a bit of bling. Lara Bohinc has a fabulous ornate bracelet which continues to tie this look together and looks phenomenal with Kooba's hobo bag in Dark Prune. Finally, we're obsessed with Anyi Lu's Vanessa Ankle Boot is a fabulous blend between a cozy and casual suede and a rich leather! Together this look showcases casual Friday with the need to go out and about once you're off the clock or done with your important task.

Wearable Wednesdays: His & Hers Style ~ Cobalt Pre Holiday

Can you believe how amazing the weather has been this week and the fact that it's December and we're enjoying 60's weather! Nothing is cuter than when couples rock matching hues and go all out to ensure that their puppy looks equally as fabulous! So I love the idea of rocking black and cobalt blue as it looks fab. I'm a huge fan of wearing skinnies whether it's Cushnie Et Ochs in leather leggings for her and these fab Dsquared2 slim fit jeans for him which look amazing! I am a big fan of black tees - for him, I love this Nell Barrett V-Neck (double) and for her, OBSESSED with this LGB Vibration sleeveless t. How can you not love this gold thunderbolt (it's like The Flash) and to accent, either person can rock this Botto Giuseppe scarf. This blue color continues to your shoes with heels by Jerome C Rousseau (exclusive to Intermix I love these booties) and he can rock uber sexy Prada kilt lace ups that also have blue. Once again, play twinsies with this fab cap by Eugenia Kim and for her, rock this Gucci White Gold ring which is FAB! Finally, we're loving that the gold thunderbolt shows how fab you can accessorize with your pooch with this Couture by Sophie fabulous bag for your puppy, matching leash and this jacket! We love this line as it was apart of Shoe Week during NYFW and TODAY will be making its debut at a fun trunk show this evening. Check out more from Couture by Sophie's, Icon Collections at D Pet Hotels in Chelsea (104 W 27th St Btwn 6th/7th Ave from 7 - 9pm). Shop, nibble and sip and RSVP at Chelsea.NYC@DPetHotels.com. We also love it as this bag is cruelty free as it's a high vegan leather grade AND the fur is faux - who doesn't want to walk around the city with this fab and uber chic family?

Wearable Wednesdays: His Style ~ Packs Light

I love when it's time to travel (as you saw yesterday) and I love planning his outfit too. I love keeping it simple as you want to be able to access everything as well as to ensure that he's comfortable. I love these mustard stretch skinny jeans by Topman. Pair this up with a white tee by Vstr Visitor and is available on Swell. Let him slip into this Gucci leather drivers which are as comfortable as one can be on a flight and then hitting the ground running! With Tom Ford's sunglasses the look is nearly complete and a guy in aviators is never a bad thing!

Being a guy on the go, I'm all about protecting his iPad and interestingly enough, I make sure he has a number options. For this look, I love how he's rocking caramel and mustard tones so mobileexpressions by LuxMobile's textured iPad case is exclusively available at Target. They have you covered for a number of your most important tech items. He can slip this into his Obey Messenger bag which keeps everything stored and within hand reach!

Swoonfest Saturdays ~ Wheels Up

Tuesday, I'm off to LA for the week! I always love when I'm able to pack my bags and head out for a series of days where I get work done, meet people and do a number of other items! With the Oscars being this week, there are a number of fun activities that I will be able to attend as well! When it comes to traveling, it has to be all about comfort for sure. Since I am going in between temperatures, I love wearing a skinny jean such as the ones by LAgence. Pairing this with a simple grey tee from All Saints, allows me to fly and hit the ground running! Add a fun necklace such as this choker from Aurelie Bidermann adds such a much needed flair. I'm loving this color blocked trench in navy from Ivanka Trump!

More adornment can be found with additional items such as Azhar's black and white Contrarie ring which adds a special sparkle. Coach's Poppy collection brings in the classic horse and carriage aesthetic which has a nice rose hue to it. I'd cap this look off with Delman's patent leather ballet flat known as the Falon! I received this a few weeks ago thanks to the fab PR team at Delman! If you want to add a bit of color in, this is a great way to do it in a very simple way and allows you the utmost comfort when you're boarding your flight and then hitting the ground running!

Mingling Mondays ~ Copper Rock

I love copper it's a great tone that tends to look great on all skin tones and it's a great way to incorporate glitz into your look now as we push further into fall. When we're thinking about the holiday season, this is the perfect color if you're not into wearing gold. Today's look includes Halston with it's classic heritage one shoulder top which is a nice way to showcase your physique! When wearing a one shoulder top, it's all about the accessories without out going too overboard as I love that this top already has dimension within it. I will say that wearing it with your favorite pair of skinny jeans is an absolute must and then you can slip on these python knee boots by Lanvin just to have some wow factor! With your feet making the ultimate statement, let's pop on John Hardy's ring to add a bit of mixed metal love to the mix and round it out with a thinner but rocking cuff by Pamela Love for Opening Ceremony which has a bit of studding on it.

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Casual Plaid Love

The plaid shirt is analogous to my love for rocking skinny jeans and leggings at any given chance! With that said, when you have a staple that is without question, your "go to piece" then you have to think about all the ways that you can wear it to keep it fresh. This week and next week we tackle the plaid issue for men. This week, we look at the casual way of wearing it and pairing it with appropriate graphics that definitely highlight you chic vibe of being comfortable. In addition, there are number of shoes that you can wear to complete the look. I have become a fan of Adidas for men so it's nice to see this included within the spread! For those who embrace this look, we'll see you wearing it this holiday season, at brunch, traveling and so much more!

Mingling Mondays ~ Rocking Rocker

Who doesn't love rocking the rocker look? It has edge and yet you're guaranteed to enjoy the sexy look that comes with it! Today's look pairs a fab pair of skinny jeans with the Zafira (Tamara collaborated with Marilyn Minter to create striking imagery of the 15th Crystal Anniversary Collection) from Jimmy Choo. Nude heels continue to be a fab trend that everyone is paying attention to. Top it off with a simple tank and a fab necklace and the look works from coast to coast. Layer up with a cardigan when you get chilly or a motorcycle jacket. On days where it's required for you to fly in and fly out this is perfect to wear when you board your flight!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ His Style Can Be Incredibly Chic

Now when he entered the world of Team Zoe, Brad Goreski was all about rocking the bow tie and making it super chic. After watching the last season, it seems that he has moved on to other fashionable choices. But I have to say that here at Kitten Lounge, we fell in love with the look. The bow tie is not meant to hang with only tuxes but also something for the everyday from heading to brunch to hanging out with friends! I was introduced to OoOTie during Fashion Week and had to include them today! With the weather getting colder and colder, I love how cozy this look is! Now this particular bow tie is out of stock but I LOVE how cute it is and can't wait until we have a photoshoot to show how we rocked the bow tie! This will be up in a few weeks but until then, enjoy how we paired it with this John Varvatos Shawl Collar Cardigan, skinny jeans and square watch bracelet by Burberry.

Mingling Mondays: Kitten Lounge U. ~ Out & About

And we're back to our regularly scheduled programming on Kitten Lounge! Unless you lived under a rock, you may have noticed from Sept 9th - Sept 16th, we cover NY Fashion Week. It was chaos but it's always fun to cover the shows, visit events and to continue to get out there so that others will share what they are up to! But yesterday, we got our last posts out and we are now back in the mode (although we will be traveling soon). We're back sharing our thoughts ona fun look that are perfect for campus or when you're visiting friends and family on upcoming fall breaks as well as just being out even if you are no longer in the college scene.

This look is chic and comfortable. I love the ombre look that comes in a cardigan that is easy to wear over leggings and then to pop in amazing accessories. This outfit is the ultimate win and one that I enjoy wearing!

Sippin Saturdays ~ Rock the Last Bikinis of Summer

It's almost official. Next weekend pretty much closes the door on summer and although we have transitioned into fall for the most part on this site, we realize that we can still squeeze out some more summer looks on a case by case basis! This weekend I have been soaking up some much needed sun as most of my summer has been spent traveling. I am obsessed with Vitamin A which has amazing swimsuits (how cute is the model in their campaign) and of course in typical style around Kitten Lounge, it's all about the accessories which can be worn with a number of other looks.

I am not a Prada girl when it comes to their handbags, but I love the shoes and these platform wedges are super cute and have that great aged look. I also love the ombre bag by Yves Saint Laurent which can be worn well into the fall. This is so luxe (imagine it with a fab pair of skinny jeans, booties and large sunglasses) and can fit a number of my items that I bring with me - this screams jetset. I am obsessed with the Tiffany & Co Keys - I love large keys and it makes a fab statement when you're out and about wearing it. I feel that every season, I always feel a little bittersweet at the end of the summer - the days of hanging out on rooftops with perfect weather get less and less, the madness of Fashion Week is only days away, my birthday is on the 12th of next month and yet I'm always excited to begin a number of projects that are focused on the fall and the summer. Because of that, I always get a signature accessory at the end of the summer which bridges into my fall wardrobe. It's a way of keeping a bit of an amazing time with me while I go forward! The key is just a sentimental and huge symbol for me that this is one that I would love to have to remind me of the significance of summer 2010 (all the press trips, becoming a Crest Spokesmodel/Ambassador and so many items that I will begin to share as we roll out over the next few weeks)!

The reality is that as long as the weather feels amazing and we can continue to wear flip flops then the summer continues on if only in our minds! Follow the #KL31BdayStar picks for our essentials for fall and what's on my birthday list!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ His Classic Style Updated

I love the classic tee and jeans as it can be worn to a number of places and is a signature for my outfits! The other day, I ran into a friend of mine in the fashion district as we're all running around prior to Fashion Week whether we have last minute photoshoots we're styling, checking in with our brands, dropping/picking items up etc. Within a span of 5 mins he caught up with me on his last 6 months of life and we promised that we'd brunch soon. He was wearing a great tee and jeans, simple but it made him look amazing and he jazzed it up with cute shoes and a bag. This look is so easy that the only way you can get it "wrong" is when you have ill fitting tees, jeans that have passed their expiration date, or anything that stops it from having that crisp and simple look etc.

Anytime you opt for this look make sure that the tee (whether a v or a crew neck) plays up the best attributes of your body type. Then find your jeans, I love a straight leg on a guy and there are a number of options. Note that straight legs are not skinny jeans, so if you were concerned that they would be too revealing, no worries! You could totally opt for super cute Italian sneakers but in this in between weather, what about popping in something unexpected? My friend was coming from a photoshoot and heading off to assist in a casting so having a look that was casual and comfortable was essential; however, he still wanted to look fashionable. I'm loving the Tuxedo II Dockside Boat Shoe from Vane by Sebago (fab collection to check out) as it takes a classic shoe and adds a bit of pop by having a patent look that doesn't overwhelm the outfit but steps it up on another level. Of course, if you're running around and bringing things here and there, guys shouldn't be afraid of rocking a bag. This one is perfect and is by Coach (plenty of bags to choose from in various sizes). This look works from running around to grabbing drinks at your favorite spot!

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Fall Into This Look

We all have that rocker chic style in us and it's super easy to recreate. Last night as I was walking around I could smell fall in the air. Being a girl from Indiana, it's one of my favorite scents no matter where you live! I love thinking about my looks for this time of year as it's a great transitional period that allows you to layer your summer pieces and then eventually bring in the winter ones! So I have the above jacket from Coach which I adore and can't wait to wear it with a number of pieces. I love that the lining is this gorgeous green and it's not even a question that it will be paired with skinny jeans (I know people are talking about the trend going to a bell bottom but I don't see this happening on a large scale and certainly not to a point where people are going to be dumping skinnies right and left).

I love wearing a tank (obsessed with Vince) into this look as it's simple and easy to put on when you have a day that doesn't have a power meeting per se and you're running around getting things done and then meeting up for wine and cheese! What makes this outfit drool worthy are the Christian Louboutin Armony Ankle Boots - with a removable cuff. I adore these shoes and think it adds the perfect rugged edge to this look while keeping it very clean. It's military meets Easy Rider and this is a must for what I want to wear when I'm out and about. In theory this look can be created very easily as it's that classic American style with a few piece that give it a worn look but in a chic way! Follow the #KL31BdayStar picks for our essentials for fall and what's on my birthday list!

Mingling Mondays ~ Style vs Rain

Whether you avoided the rain or simply dealt with it as you went about your day, here in NYC - it was super wet yesterday! When we woke up this morning, we realized that there was more rain to greet us. In the summer, rain doesn't always mean that the humidity goes down so we have to have ways to dress for it while remaining cool. Slowly but surely, we are getting back to wearing our jeans if you're like me and have been living in your maxi dresses. Pair them with a super fun pair of boots (loving the Jimmy Choo x Hunter boots in various colors) and a cute top! What I love about this top is that you can totally rock one shoulder peeking out so that the fabric drapes across your body. Whether you're hair is down or pulled into a messy bun, it's the perfect outfit for your Starbucks meetings, running into fittings pre-Fashion Week and so much more. Finally, you'll want a bag that you can store things into and I love this bag by Chloe. It has functional hardware while also holding everything together (especially your mini umbrella)!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Key Fall Looks From APART

Now you guys know that there have been a lot of times that I have presented pieces from APART! They sponsor me at a number of events and when I hosted To Be a Star's Walk on Water Runway Show for Forerver 21's Times Square store opening, you know how pleased I was to wear their dress for a show that included Jaimie Hilfiger, Richie Rich from Heatherette and more. Since this Spring, I have enjoyed wearing pieces and getting to know the brand whether it's wearing the line or hosting a fun Hampton Splashion Soiree event at their showroom (there will be a fun holiday event in Dec).

Now that we're heading into the fall, you'll see a number of outfits that will work well for your wardrobe. Today's post serves as a preview of sorts of items that are not available yet but will be soon! In addition, you will have the opportunity to do pre-orders for these items as well and stay tuned for fun collaborations that I will do with this brand! Above are 4 pieces from APART that will be a few of the key items that are not only on trend but look amazing when layered, thrown over leggings, jeans and so much more!

I am a huge fan of faux fur and this is fab to belt, wear with skinny jeans and tall boots without question. All you need are fab sunglasses (very Rachel Zoe) as you run from one place to the next. The cropped leather jacket has not only an edge to it but can be worn with a number of femme items such as slinky dresses (great way to add a little something to your look whether it's heading to an event or just hanging out with your girls)! The leather jacket pictures above is one of my favorites (in the caramel color) as it would be perf for heading to brunch! Finally, a cowl neck sweater. There is nothing like having the softest material next to your skin with a neck that can be styled every which way until Tues! You'll see these items again in a few days and will be able to get them into your wardrobe but until then - think about your look and what you'll be adding into it for this fall! You'll also look fab on whatever runway you call home, work and play as this brand believes in bringing the runway to the everyday.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Rock the Rain

This is one of the first few rainy days that I have worked from home and loved it! Usually, I'm battling raindrops but I have to say this is not an excuse to look subpar as you hit the streets. This chilly rain means when you pop in and out of stores, offices, etc it'll be uncomfortable warm so layering up is the key! First it's about the pieces - Siman Tu (finally meeting him and hanging out with him this week) has been one of my favorite accessories designers since I moved to NY. I used to walk by his shop on Lexington when I left the subway station on 63rd and would drool over his pieces. I would love for his collection to join my ever growing Ted Rossi collection! The Agate cuff is beyond PHENOM! Today is the day that you pair your skinny jeans (much easier to fit into wellies) with a super long tank and a cute cropped cradigan. This way you're warm and when it gets to be too much, you can take it off! When you finally manage the day, take some time to relax solo or with friends at your favorite wine bar.

Treasure Tuesdays ~ Old & New World

I love a mix of old and new! There are times when you have places to be and you have no idea how your day will shake out. I think that you have to think versatile so that you look your best! First off, when I was at the Kate Spade event last week, I fell in love with the Gabby. This shoe begs to be paired with a fab pair of skinny jeans, a simple slubby tank and a cute blazer. This is perfect for meetings, going out to lunch/brunch or wherever the day takes you. Of course this look needs a chunky necklace to keep everything fresh and youthful! All you need to complete this look is a cocktail ring, a fab bag and of course sunglasses as you run off to your next meeting!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Keep It Simple

My favorite look is when I have no where in particular to be or I know I'm just running around. When I am in this mood, I know I'm grabbing a great tank. a pair of skinny jeans, an interesting necklace and my bag of choice. Whether you opt to wear this with heels, flip flops, sandals, etc - you're always dressed for wherever you happen to head out to. There is something to be said for simple but it doesn't mean that you look as if you fell out of bed and ran to your first meeting. Thinking of what your perfect "go to" look, will save you time! You'll know what you should put on and you won't have to wonder if this is the way you want to present yourself for the day!

Mingling Mondays ~ Put Power Into Your Interactions

I don't have power suits. You know what I'm talking about, the suits of the 80's with large shoulder pads, pencil skirts, severe lines, etc! Think such dramas as Dynasty, Hotel or movies such as Baby Boom (I love all of these by the way). A power suit now means something that gets you ready for "game time" whether it's asking for a promotion, going into your review or doing something for your business. It's the look that when you put it on, it gives you that last push - it's your secret weapon! For me, I'm a denim girl, you can never have too much denim and it can be brought into various areas depending on how it's paired. I love an oxford shirt whether it's plain or striped (I love Abercrombie & Fitch or Victoria's Secret), a pair of skinny jeans, a pair of heels (I love wearing Jimmy Choo) and a large ring! Accessories are my signature and besides the ring, you know I would pair a cuff (I love python by Ted Rossi) and a super cute bag! Wearing this makes me feel like I have that "home field advantage" while being professional (at the same time, once I'm done, I can have that congratulatory lunch or dinner). If you have something that you love, make sure to get more of those items as this year, you're going to need them!

Trendy Tuesdays ~ NYE Coverage: Our Version of Break

Whether you work for yourself or someone else, you've been enjoying playing hooky from work and your normal grind. It's like being back in school and realizing that you get a winter vacation. Maybe you're shopping or you're just hanging out around the house. So as you're running around with your friends and grabbing drinks, think about super cute outfits that you can wear as you're out and about. You know that I love wearing tank tops year around so of course this is the perfect item that can be layered so that if you're just hanging out and it's hot or the heater is way up, you can keep having fun!

This satin tank can be paired with a pair of skinny jeans, over the knee boots and a simple necklace (huge fan of Agate). If you're having a casual afternoon, how about this amazing beverage Root. Enjoy it over ice or just enjoy it with a number of other mixers. Root is an old time alcoholic beverage that was the inspiration for root beer that we drink today. If you want to find out where you can get this, feel free to click the link! However you spend this week or NYE, make sure that it's super comfortable!

Fashionable Fridays ~ Casual is Sexy

Whether you do casual Fridays or you just like to be casual, there is no need not to have a sexy look at the same time. Yes it's Black Friday and with all the deals that are going on, this is a great excuse to start changing your look. You know I'm all about skinny jeans and a simple tank - who doesn't love the cardigan that is elbow length. A pop of yellow is a fun way to look cheery even when the days are a bit overcast. Add a cute bib necklace which has elements of vintage mixed in. Add a sexy femme edge with an over the knee boot (I love this pair) and of course a lush bag is a nice way to add a conversation piece that ensures that people will love you coming and going.

Mingling Mondays ~ Dressing for Flip Flop Weather

Um I didn’t get the memo that we were going to have reasonable weather! The funny part is my winter coat has made an appearance already and we’re supposed to be in the fall. The good thing about this weather is that you can layer up and look appropriate when the weather is changing every second. When it comes to one of my favorite looks, I love the low neckline fitted sweater, paired with skinny jeans or a nice flair (you'll also want to make sure that you have various cuts and washes as this is a fun way to change up your look), ankle boots and of course – lots of accessories. As much as I love the over the knee boot, there is something to be said for wearing the little booties as well! This is such a great look when you’re at the office, going to Starbucks or doing whatever you need to do as you begin to tackle your Mon! Take some time to look at the pieces above and to begin to add them into your closet (note the cute lace tank that’s under this sweater) – such a sweet look and very chic!

Wearable Wednesdays ~ Transitional Chic

When you're busting your butt and you're running all over the place, you need a second to come up for air. I find that it helps when I'm wearing something that's comfortable and not so confining. In my world of copious visits to various coffee houses, showrooms, lounges and more - I never know when a friendly chat turns into a fab business opportunity so my best bet is to be chic. With the changing of the seasons it can be a little difficult. One day I'm in full winter mode and the next I'm reminded that it's just fall. Whatever way you decide to bridge that gap (thin knitted caps are your best bet until it starts getting cold enough where you only see your breath), make sure that once your coat is off that you look transitional.

My biggest thing is in the accessories department, just because the weather has turned doesn't mean I still can't wear seashells - I'll just get some whose color is reflective of the season. I have this ring in a cream color that I got from the Dominican Republic; however, a dear friend @KarenRobinovitz, Creatrix of Purple Lab NYC told me that I should check out Mesi Jilly! Of course I realize that although I have yet to meet her, I am very familiar with her work as I have been drooling over it for a couple of years at least! I love that she takes the natural shell to another level and encrusts it with enough glitz to make me giddy!

So I have many days where I do "Kimmie old school" or I love to wear black as I do believe in the whole Audrey sense of style and although I know that the color palette extends beyond my faves (black, grey and cream), I am allowed to go back and embrace them anytime I want. LC by Lauren Conrad presents a fashionably classic approach to the Dolman sweater which also makes it perfect in terms of price point. Growing up, I remember my mom wearing these sweaters with a Calvin Klein jean and riding boots - interesting how it all comes back again except I'll reach for this TopShop jean which is not only a skinny but will have a few extra inches which will look fab with the Dolce & Gabbana snakeskin heels. As a side note, you can be super casual and once you throw on a heel with a little texture you come from coffee house to cute cafe or bistro in ten seconds. A lariat is a cute way to include a messy but uber classy look and this touch of golden essence is perfect for this outfit since it creates pops of vibrant color. Finally, complete the look with an awesome bag. As you know, I'm a huge fan of my Cole Haan woven bag. The shape is great and once again that texture is devine; therefore, how much more do you think I love this one by Jimmy Choo? I love the bangle that you can actually wear or let it stay as hardware and I like it has a hint of metallic as well.

When it all comes together, this look works well when you're running around all day (don't be shy if you feel the need to switch into flats - just make it snakeskin). If you get invited to a signing, drinks after work or anything of that nature, you don't have to think twice about what else needs to be done in order to fit in with whatever everyone else is wearing. The transitional look can be difficult in terms of the season but once you have that part taken care of, everything else falls into place!
