What a weekend! Milan was buzzing this weekend as many athletes descended upon the Calvin Klein Collection Fashion Show for this menswear shoe! With such notables as Henrik Lundqvist, Victor Cruz and Amare Stoudemire making their way to the show, they not only brought the world of sport together (hockey, basketball and football) but also showed their own personal style! These guys look great in their uniforms; however, can also rock a suit in a number of ways (tie, bowtie and casual).
I love Rachel Zoe she's a phenom stylist, designer and overall mogul! When it comes to her personal style, she has a number of looks that I love! I'm obsessed with finding the perfect white shirt dress. I love this maxi shirt dress and there's so much that can be done with it. I would definitely roll up my sleeves and unbutton a few buttons. Like Zoe, I like belting this and would totally rock it out with this obi style belt that's grey from DVF which adds nice dimensions to the look. Continue the grey love with this Stella McCartney grey chain tote that is super roomy! Slip into this Banane Watersnake Peep Platforms which are by Christian Louboutin of course and make a little pop with this Roberto Cavalli ring!
I love seersucker, madras, fun plaid and more on men and women! How does one accessorize this look? First of all, when it comes to the classic preppy look for men, you can't go wrong with Polo Ralph Lauren! I'm loving the plaid blazer, seersucker shorts, a fab tie and how can you not love the shoes that this model is rocking! The weekender bag by Balenciaga is fabulous and is the perfect item for you to rock whenever he has left it behind! Whether you're doing a pre-summer Hamptons jet setting weekend or are taking a long weekend in a hideaway, this is the chic way to go about it! I believe that every guy needs to have a Signet Ring by Werkstatt Munchen which has a fabulous pattern on the front of it. Not only is this piece amazing, but the same designer also has a silver chain bracelet that is definitely one that he will enjoy wearing. Finally, I have been a fan of Albertus Swanepoel since an accessories roundtable during New York Fashion Week in 2010. I love his fedoras as they are a great way to top off a look and once again, you can wear it whenever he has left it behind.
As Father's Day continues to approach whether you are gifting him, attending a friend's Father's Day Fete or are thinking of upping your own style, I introduce to you an easy to read Men's Style book that I highly suggest - Anything Other Than Naked by Glen R Sondag. Who lays out how to go about getting that wardrobe you have always wanted and making it well rounded and achievable! He walks you through finding the right collar and how you should wear your shirt, tie and suit combo. These are all fundamentals that you may have missed when you first started co-ordinated or may have never learned. Regardless, it's a must and as it is written by a stylish guy, you have no need to fear!
In addition to reading the book, here are some fab stylish items that are always great to have in your closet whether it's a pair of dress shoes from Salvatore Ferragamo, a tie by Christian Dior or a fab watch that is the perfect mix of bling and sport!
As you;'re reading this, I am finalizing and continuing to adjust my Fashion Week calendars! It's tomorrow and if course you know that we will be taking you behind the runways, after parties, the shows themselves as well as the presentations. We'll have video as well as recaps of each show. From there, we will highlight an amazing show that is taking place once New York Fashion Week is over (the launch of my Kitten Lounge x Sebago Fall 11 Collaboration) and then I am off to HSN. But we can't even think of any of this without thinking about what we love so much about the shows at Lincoln Center - the fashion that takes place by those that are attending the events!
I love seeing men, women and even chic kids showcasing their sense of style. Right now I am obsessed with this look. Who doesn't love a simple rolled up woven, a vest, tie and jeans paired with casual shoes? It's such a casual and sexy look that more people should adopt. With all the events that he will be heading off to at this time, having a bag to carry the extra is a must and of course, cap it off with a scarf for the draft at the shows as well as a fun a accessory such as the leather cuff above. We're fans of Rugby for their English, collegiate and yet sophisticated style and we're looking forward to this look which is also perfect for brunch, heading to a meeting and more.
Stop thinking of more ties and other cheesy gifts and think about going back to the basics! Whether he loves watching FIFA, old movies and so much more - popcorn and beer are fab partners for whenever he has time to hang out and have some time to himself or with friends! First off, maybe he wants to make his own beer and with this kit, he can begin to imagine his own Micro Brewery that his friends can enjoy! In addition, there is always the simple way - a sampler of 12 bags of popcorn from Dale and Thomas Popcorn is a fab gift! I love the Rodeo Ranch and Blazing Buffalo; however, whether he's looking for sweet, traditional or salty - there are a number of flavors that you can choose from. Just select it and this version comes in a fab crate. Grab some bowls and your gift is complete. You won't have to wonder what he thinks about it as the empty bags will be proof enough! Make his Father's Day stress free with a touch of fun!
You guys know that I am obsessed with accessories! Above, the video introduces my challenge to those in the accessories industry as I am hosting a weekly webisode that focuses on accessories and I definitely want to make sure that your pieces will be included. In addition, I am also working on a book that needs accessories to be included. Find out more details as this show launches the first week of April! I look forward to hearing from you.
