Earlier today, I headed to The Box at Lincoln Center to check out the Rafael Cennamo presentation. I think the Box is one of my favorite spaces within the shows at NYFW since you're able to view the collections within an hour and to take pictures and take in all the details. In addition you can step back and see how the entire collection works together. The theme of the Fall/Winter 2013 collection was "21 Shades of Gold" which was "inspired by the passage of time with the ornate and golden aura of The Hall of Mirrors". The collection brough together regal elements with baroque elements and decor. As an Accessories Expert, I love embellishment and bling and it was definitely brought here! From fabulous chunky sweaters with a sprinkling of gold to add visual texture, sequin leggings, gold metal paillettes, ball gowns and more it was definitely a fantastic show. In addition, Zoya had phenomenal lacquers that were custom for this show which will be out for Fall/Winter 2013 - Amgelina (a rich chocolately hue), Goldie (I'd say a Grecian antiqued gold) and Dea (a caramel) hue which you should keep an eye out for next season - I loved that these came within our goodie bags as we left the show.
Enjoy my fave images from the show and you can also see Rafael Cennamo himself as well as a snap of the upcoming hues from Zoya.
As my loyal Kitten know, I am apart of Crest's Ambassador program which allows me to go to a number of fun events, dinners and so much more. At the beginning of this season's NYFW Fall/Winter 2012/2013 fashion show, I was able to go to Gen Art's event which was hosted by Crest 3D White's spokesperson, Whitney Port, who has her own line which we saw in the making while she was on The City. I loved being able to see her talk about why she loved creating her line and launching it during a Gen Art event in Miami as well as being aligned with Crest 3D White!
Early this morning, I headed to the backstage of Whitney Port's Whitney Eve and obviously Crest 3D White was backstage ensuring that models utilized these strips in order to ensure a dazzling white smile for their walk! In addition, I happened to see Zoya Nail Polish (we all know my obsession with Zoya's Indigo and having them done at Polished Beauty Bar) that was used for this show - 2 fabulous colors - Kristen and Maisie!
Sitting front row, I snapped a number of amazing pieces that incorporated fab uses of accessories such as geometric necklaces and eye popping footwear! Whitney Eve showcased a number of darker hues that were appropriate for fall but I loved many of the leggings and longer shirts. It was such a playful look. She also incorporated a number of peplum shirts and cute dresses - perfect for west coast winters to be sure! Enjoy the final model walk through and of course an appearance by Whitney Port.
We all know that inspiration can come from anywhere so why not start out with your beauty closet? I'm loving these hues that are available at Zoya! With over 300 colors that they make, you're bound to find something that inspires your bedroom, living room and kitchens! There are four amazing shades from light hues to darker ones and with brands such as Natori, Nicole Miller, Rachael Ray, Cuisinart and more you'll find a number of pieces that will add a regal and exotic flare to your home!
As you guys have seen this week, I was on HSN for Sebago during their Spring Fashion Series presented by Elle Magazine! On Wed 23rd, there were a number of shoe brands that came out (I mean I saw Beverly Feldman who I adore and walked past her as I was going on the set)! I appeared on a 2am, 7am and 3pm slot talking about Sebago, where to wear them, how to wear them and why I loved them so much! I had to remind myself that HSN is the fourth largest network with a viewership of 95 million households! I have to say that HSN doesn't play around! They're on schedule, super sweet and the follow up is insane. I'm so happy for everyone that tuned in but for those that didn't I have some videos that you can enjoy!
I also want to thank those that dressed me! First off I have a HUGE love for Ann Taylor and LOFT! All my pants came from these fab brands as I wanted to wear cropped pants or leggings that showed off my footwear. I have never owned a pair but after wearing these I would say that your closet must have them going forward! I love bling and nothing says that more than Chelsea Taylor! I loved wearing the necklace, various bracelets and the ring! Of course the tops from 2am and 7am were Thai Nguyen from Bravo's Launch My Line! I love his boho chic style. But I also loved wearing Eva Varro during the 3pm show as she has been dressing me for years! Also, if you loved the nails - you know that Susan Nam, Celebrity Nail Stylist and owner of Polished Beauty Bar, keeps me in Zoya's Indigo!
There are a number of shows coming up in May and October with my involvement with Sebago and of course I will keep you up on information regarding my Kimmie Smith x Sebago Fall 2011 collection as well!
This fall, Lela Rose, presents a line that is whimsical but full of dramatic elements! As I hit backstage, I loved that Ted Gibson's team was hard at work (Ted was at the Grammy's doing hair last night) creating old world Hollywood glam with that perfect mix of manicured hair while also having a bit of that messy quality that is so hard to achieve together. Stila ensured that the models looked fabulous with their bold dramatic colors and of course, the manis that the models rocked was a fun very dark green color with a hint of black by Deborah Lippman, known as Billionaire (you know that I am a fan of Zoya's Indigo so this caught my eye for sure).
The day before I left for the DR to design my Fall 11 Kitten Lounge x Sebago line, I made sure that I beautified before I left. Apart of the process was heading to Polished Beauty Bar on the Upper West Side. Now I had heard great things about this via friends and have to say that more than a week later I only have the tiniest of chips on my nails - it is work the trek for sure to go to this super zen place. No detail is left wasted. I loved meeting the owner, Susan Nam who definitely makes you feel like you're at home. We gabbed about our mutual love for cardigans, maxis and layers. I selected Indigo a gorgeous blue black polish with sparkle. I have to say that I am now a dark color girl for not only my pedis BUT ALSO my manis! After selecting my color, I enjoyed sitting in these massage chairs pictured above that also massage your butt - super amazing! For this alone, the chairs make everything feel like it's ok! Located at 250 W 78th between Broadway and West End, you'll find a number of services with my fave ones being manis ($12) and pedis ($30). Another fab service is the fact that they have these little sanitizers for your shoes. As you get your pedi, your shoes are cleaned and disinfected - supposedly they smell like ocean breezes when you get them!
Beyond being a chic spot and the new place to enjoy some time to hang out with your girls as you gab over the weeklies. I love that this place is green! The fact that they use Zoya and have quite a bit of their 300 collection, you know that your polish doesn't have all the chemicals in it. In addition, their nail polish remover is soy based which is perfect. Find out more about the salon, new colors that are coming up and specials by signing up for their tweets at @PolishedBB! I can tell you that this is officially my fave salon and that I am not interested in going in any other salon after my amazing polish!
Who knew a little color would rock my world. I have to say that when I get mani's (my pedi's I love being daring) it's always something that matched the tones of my nail. I have always been happy like that but here lately, I have realized that I do want to step it up. Last week I headed to Polished Beauty Bar and fell in love with Zoya's Indigo. Then, when I had lunch with my mom the other day, she actually said - you look so much better with a darker nail color so now I am all about it. Above are some fab hues as I am actually drawn to items that have an element of black in it for the super chic macabre look. Above, you'll also find a package of colors from FLIRT Cosmetics! What I love about this is that I love the grey color and was able to share with friends on the others!
